Double post?

Is it even possible for Stern to do that?

Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

Technically he can

The NBA has absolute power on who owns a team.

Curry/Randolph

I agree with the post except for his assessment of Curry, The kid has been very timed about excreting himself because of Monta, he is walking on egg shells around him….he seems scared to take the bulls by the horns and its still to early to expect him to emerge as the great savior, he needs this year to feel his way and then he will not look back…

We have a leadership crises on our hands, Monta cannot run a team but they put that in his head that it’s his team when he can’t get the job done, 30 turnovers in 3 games is not the team leader…

This has to be Curry’s team with the help of Monta by allowing him to ease into that role, Monta has to set aside his ego and see that Curry is the future leader on the floor…

The problem is the whole management from RR on down to the Don , they lost control of the team and out of fear and panic gave it to Ellis when he is not able to be that guy…

We have had many players in the past that should be a second or third option on most teams but because of not being able to evaluate talant and always being in a position of panic they had the keys to the wrong guys only to lose them in the end because they didnt live up to expectations..but on another team as 3rd option there stars…

Rocky's whole thing

is that he hates Curry and thinks he is going to be, at best, a third string PG.

Curry

You have to look at the whole picture, Curry has to pay homage to his elders the big elder flew the coup ans went to CHA, that leaves Monta and he thinks he’s the big Kahuna.but in the real world he is a second or third option for a Championship caliber team.

by Cryptic on Dec 16, 2009 7:43 AM PST up reply actions

What is Curry then

He’s definitely not a first option player as of yet.

by Rocky63215 on Dec 16, 2009 11:57 AM PST up reply actions

He’s definitely not a first option player as of yet.

That’s true and that’s part of the problem, He need’s to be able to ease into the role of the floor leader not necessarily the first option on offense, and for that to happen he needs Monta to help groom him by allowing him to take the keys for extended periods of time and to make a few mistakes and grow into the position.

Monta will still be the first option on this team at this time, but instead of forcing every possission he has to work with Curry and let him set him up….right now Monta wants to show the kid whose da boss….

Curry has what it takes but he will not enforce his will on the other players at this time, they need to recognize he will be the floor general and allow him to make that transition for the good of the team in the long haul….It will take the rest of this year and into next year and then he will be very productive, I see him as a 20P-4R-10A with 2 steals a game next year…

I think he has that kind of an upside….were only seeing it in flashes right now because it’s something that is built up with confidence and recognition from the other players…right now they can make him or break him this year….

I see in a couple of years a very exciting player in Curry, he needs to develop his craft and get stronger, love to see him put on 10 or 15 pounds between now and next year….we need to be patient now because there is nothing that can be done were at an empass…

The best thing we could do is move Don out and let him earn his money being a consultant ….get a charismatic new coach that loves the up and down game with a mind set for defense and with the new leadership the team will adjust to the coach and the team can be remolded….we need to get the old monkey off our backs right now and put a new face on this team…the old one is looking prety ugly right now…

by Cryptic on Dec 16, 2009 2:54 PM PST up reply actions

Do you think Nelson could work with a Charismatic coach?

I think the best thing for the Warriors is if Nelson is a consultant is to bring in Avery Johnson because at least they know each other and respect each other.

I don't hate Curry

Curry I think will be good, but it’s going to take him longer than a player like Collison.

by Rocky63215 on Dec 16, 2009 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

That sounds reasonable enough.

So why do you hate on the kid so much in the game threads?

There will be no extra point!

Frustration

I guess, there was all this hype about him and how he’s been around the game much of his life.

Solid journalism there. I really like how the author reports only the cold, hard facts leaves his personal opinions out of it. He also breaks a ton of new ground: “Warriors Fans Don’t Deserve a Team Like This” — what a concept! And did I mention the elegant prose? I can see why this guy calls himself a “senior writer.” Can the Pulitzer be far off?

There will be no extra point!

I just remembered something

We signed Mikki when remember when Drew Gooden said he might want to come here? Now I’m really angry! And you won’t like me when I’m angry.

Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"

We signed Mikki when remember when Drew Gooden said he might want to come here?

Riley said he was waiting for the right big at the right price =) He passed on Gooden and opted for the 7’ footer MM =)

That was a ruse, I knew once they seen how excited the fans were with their draft pick they had no intention of speeding any money..they felt they could ride out the season with a 3rd string back up and this false hope of developing all the young talent…

Gooden would of been a great addition to the team and he wanted to be here…such a shame they didn’t even make an offer…

All these articles about the Warriors ownership sucking

And being the worst team of the decade is making me extremely depressed and angry. Angry like a Raider fan after reinserting Jamarcus at QB angry. I don’t want to trade any more of our young guys. I want a new owner. And while I’m at it, I want new jerseys (designed by me of course).

Curry/Nelson vs. Curry/Smart

I’m just curious – maybe one of the stat guru’s here could check – What are Curry’s stats with Nellie on the bench vs. his stats with Smart on the bench.

With Smart on the bench, I really feel all of our offense went bad. Morrow became a ball hog, taking Baron Davis like ill advised shots. Monta stopped passing. Curry became indecisive. They looked like the W’s Pre-Nellie v.02.

Catch the ball. Have open jumper in rhythm – but make a driving step first, then stop and decide to take the J after all – OUT of rhythm.

I really think Smart is NOT the future coach of this team. In Hunter’s first few games he show some skill and ability to help the team – he has the BEEF Riley’s been wanting. Not saying he’s the end all be all, but how does Smart give him a DNP-CD and the W’s lose the rebounding battle by 25 boards?

Back to the first point, I could be proved wrong by the stats, but it seems to me Curry has played much better under Nellie (even the 2 games Nellie coached at home).
