Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Tonight's booing and watching this video really got me kind of angry. Half of our team is injured and i don't think they appreciate the home crowd booing their own team.

Yes

lets cheer the losing.

by saintdee on Dec 17, 2009 12:42 AM PST reply actions

booing is counterproductive.

it gets in your players’ head while it amps up opposing players.

the losing should be met with silence & empty seats.

there is no difference between that and booing.

if anything the booing is a constant, upfront reminder that the fans are unhappy…empty seats just show that nobody gives a damn.

how about

if you don’t want to cheer the moral victories for a team that’s obviously not going to get many actual ones… stay home and do something else with your life?

We’re becoming the fanbases we used to deride.

Nobody

likes to lose, and that’s obvious. Rather than fans showing their dislike with the play of our Warriors, we need to be supporting this team. The players already know that their play is less than satisfactory. But the fact is, this is how good our team actually is with all the injuries that we have. The players are easily losing hope because us fans, who are self-proclaimed the “best in the NBA,” cannot support the team for the 100% effort they are leaving on the court. And yes, we always get many open looks, but sometimes shots don’t fall. It’s not a player’s decision for a shot not to fall, it just happens. The effort is there, the execution just isn’t. And like it’s previously been stated time and time again, it’s okay to boo the front office, but booing these players who are giving so much effort is just not what needs to be done.

I was the one that booed.

=) In 124 row 23 in seat 20. I will not take back my booing and I will do it again to show the lack of stupidity Radman had and will have if he ever does it again.

It's good that you booed

This terrible organization needs to know that its fans are sick and tired of losing. I think we can all take a page out of the Philly fanbase and demand greatness instead of putting up with mediocrity.

by HopHurdles on Dec 17, 2009 9:07 AM PST up reply actions

I take it you didn’t go to the Sixers Warriors game? As a Philly resident, I can tell you, they’re not a group you want to emulate.

And how does booing the players do anything? Especially since you’re putting money in the owners pocket by showing up….

by Missing Barry on Dec 18, 2009 12:45 AM PST up reply actions

i disagree

fans can be sick and tired of losing but as long as fans arent sick and tired of paying for tickets the front office wouldnt give a [profane]. its funny how i only see players that are old and have no potential to be great getting booed. i dont see our players getting enough credit when they do a great job, some fans only see their mistakes. even the fans are getting infected… whats next our home crowd rooting for the other team in our own house?

by calz on Dec 18, 2009 2:34 AM PST up reply actions

what is the point in making Radmanovic another Dunleavy like head case who is afraid to shoot and when he does is thinking so much that his stroke is altered?

basketball players play best when confident….. why do we want to take that away from our side?

booing the opposing player is stupid too. it just amps them up to shut the perceived “enemy” up. notice how Baron plays so much better at Oracle vs the dubs than he does in LA? i could never understand why NYKs fans repeatedly booed Reggie Miller – all it did was fuel him. it’s like Chris Bosh’s dumbass girlfriend talking ish to Lebron.

For a change the fans weren't booing him

Radmanovich is the worst player in the NBA. Sure he can play good defense on occasion, but he has no offensive game whatsoever, he’s a terrible shooter, he can’t finish at the rim, and he can’t handle the ball either.

overstate things much?

by homer simpson on Dec 17, 2009 9:33 AM PST up reply actions

um yeah. they aren’t booing the losing, they’re booing players.

by homer simpson on Dec 17, 2009 9:34 AM PST up reply actions

Oh come on, obviously it’s Maggette’s fault that Biedrins Wright and Turiaf are hurt….

I like Corey, he's a good guy.

He doesn’t always make the right decisions, but I would never boo the guy.

Also, Corey mentioned Raja Bell and I realized, if we did have Raja Bell on this team, it would help A LOT.

There's a reason to booing

As Warriors fans, we have a right to boo our team when they are not performing up to par. It’s not that we’re booing because we hate them. Sometimes the way that they are playing deserves the booing. Like whenever the 3rd quarter comes and then all the team does is resort to shooting jump shots, and they stop attacking the rim especially when they’re jump shots aren’t falling. Even though they do have a lot of injuries, that is no excuse for the way that they have been playing lately. I’m okay with losing if I see that they are playing their hearts out, but when they just start shooting jumpers and stop moving the ball, this shows me that they just stop trying. This is why I see the booing as appropriate. We are allowed to show our disgust not only for the play, but also the ownership and management. Without it, they would think nothing was wrong.

by shakenbakeuhear on Dec 17, 2009 10:35 AM PST reply actions

i disagree

the booing needs to stop. i think the warriors are doing the best they can with our limited roster. i dont think they deserve to get booed. imagine playing a fast paced game with only 8 healthy bodies night in night out and undersize. fatigue will kick in and im and it shows. i dont hear morrow getting booed for not attacking the rim when his shots arent falling. i dont hear maggette getting any credit when he plays great. people tend to forget about it and focuses on his mistakes. i just dont see how booing is appropriate. Without it, they would think nothing was wrong. you dont think losing infront of their home crowd is enough? as much as we hate to lose players do to and not every players are going to have a perfect game everytime. Ellis said it himself, fans are like their fams. let me ask you, IF you were watching your family members play and they are having a really bad game would you boo em? regardless?

He said people are playing out of position is hurting them

Hint hint Nellie.

Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

I don't really get why people even bother paying to go to the boracle.

Sure you see some good basketball, from the other team. I am a fan, so I watch every game, but I’m not paying money to Cohan to watch at home.

I mean are Monta and the band of scrubs really worth paying money to watch lose?

by myk on Dec 17, 2009 3:12 PM PST reply actions

Watching on tv is paying money to Cohan.

by Missing Barry on Dec 18, 2009 12:47 AM PST up reply actions

We pay Mags to go to the rim. Not to take 22 foot jumpers all night. Hence the boos

"There he goes. One of god's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

by KINGofCRA5H on Dec 17, 2009 9:06 PM PST reply actions

Maggette’s end results suggest he does go to the rim almost every time. Now you’re just booing because you don’t have a clue.

by Missing Barry on Dec 18, 2009 12:47 AM PST up reply actions

I honestly don’t understand how anyone could boo Maggette after listening to an interview like that. Can you find a guy with a better attitude? Not to mention the fact that despite everyone’s booing, he’s still been the effective scorer he’s always been. Yeah, he is scoring efficiently, just like we want him to. Obviously the rest of his game is weak, but come on, good attitude + some amount of usefulness shouldn’t result in booing him. We’re unhappy with ownership – taking it out on the players creates a crappy atmosphere for them, and creates an atmosphere other players won’t want to join. It actively hurts the team.

CM stinks

what’s his actual trade value?

we could try to trade him + Vlad for something like Kevin Love + Brewer

sorry :(

I meant: corey maggette is a bad player.

what’s his trade value nowadays around the league? Would it be possible to trade him + radmanovic for something like Kevin Love + Brewer from Minnesotta?
