Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Some Trades that Would Actually Work-

The W’s payroll is $63,455,598 as of 12/16/2009. They’re $5,755,598 over the cap, here’s the first trade.

1. Andris Biedrins                                                                  Zydrunas Ilgauskas

    5-years $9,000,000                        To Cleveland                 1-year $11,541,074

For                           2010 1st Round Draft Pick

Cleveland would make this trade because they need a big man that can actually move. Biedrins would be a huge upgrade over Big Z and Shaq. He and Lebron on the pick and roll is a significant upgrade over Andersen Varejao. We’ll send out Mikki Moore as well to make the money work.

2. Anthony Randolph                                                                   Dorell Wright

    2-years $1,837,560                          To Miami                                1-year $2,887,165

    Corey Maggette                                     For                         Udonis Haslem

    4-years $8,937,931                                                                   1-$7,100,000

Miami gets a replacement PF for Haslem with real potential. Pat Riley loves hybrid types like Randolph and he usually has success with developing them. Corey’s contract does hinder the deal a bit but Miami isn’t giving up much as it is and they would still have plenty of cap room for the future even with this deal. If Maggette’s contract is still too hard to swallow then I’ll throw Brandan Wright in as well. Otherwise, rumors state that Miami would love to have Andris so that may be an option as well. In which case, I would have to take back Mario Chalmers and his expiring deal.

3.   Vladimir Radmanovic                                                Brandon Bass

       2-years $6,466,600                                                   4-years $4,000,000

Stephen Curry                            To Orlando              J.J. Redick

       2-years $2,710,560                          For                    2-years $2,839,408

                                                                                        2010 2nd Round Draft Pick

Instead of taking back a 1st round pick the Magic would just take Vladimir back instead. They have a trade exception that would make it work.

4.  Vladimir Radmanovic                                               Brian Cardinal

     2-years $6,466,600                                                   1-year $6,750,000

     Anthony Randolph                                                    Nathan Jawai

     2-years $1,837,560               To Minnesota                1-year $736,420

     Brandan Wright                           For                          Oleksiy Pecherov

     2-years $2,671,440                                                   1-year $1,547,640

                                                                                      2010 1st Round Draft Pick

Are you a Warriors fan? Cause it seems like dll those trades you proposed benefits the other team more than it does us, by far.

Trade #4 is an absolute joke...

so are all the others.
Seems like you’re only interested in cap relief, besides not everyone is going to walk away a winner in this year’s free agent market.

I imagine that the best we could ever hope to do

is Rudy Gay. I’d rather not trade the whole team for Gay.

We (Timberwolves fan) would never give up our first round draft pick for so little.

I would probably accept the trade if we didn’t give up that pick. However, GS wouldn’t accept it if we don’t give it up.

Yeah

Randolph is an excellent prospect, and Brandan Wright is good, just injury prone.

These are the worst trades i've seen in a while....no joke

I actually like the first trade a little bit, mainly because of the draft pick.

But all the other trades are bogus. I don’t see the point of trading away guys like Curry, Randolph and Wright. They are probably going to be way better than the crappy free agents who would want to come here that we’d be clearing up the money to sign anyway.

And if we do trade any of them away, we better be getting a legitimate star in return.

LOL

what’s good about the first trade? We trade away another lottery pick? following Ike, Pietrus, Mike, Troy, Jason etc etc.

Wow...

I’ve never posted on GSoM, but I just HAD to after seeing those trade proposals. Those are terrible…terrible. Either this was completely sarcastic and I have no sense of humor or you’re terrible at thinking up trades.

by The Rhythm Epidemic on Dec 25, 2009 7:24 AM PST reply actions

i guess these trades “would actually work” in the sense that the other team would jump on them and laugh about how stupid warriors management is (something they probably do already), but if you meant that they “would actually work” in the sense that they would actually help the team… i guess i don’t know what to tell you.

Is this a post by Chris Cohan

Getting us ready for heinous trades that he is going to force Riley to commit in order to stuff dough in his pocket? WOW! Not a single trade made a bit of sense.

Trade #3

is one of the most lopsided trades I have ever seen.

by saintdee on Dec 25, 2009 1:12 PM PST reply actions

HAHAHA!!! These are horrible!

First take is…..

I’m pretty sure these trades are illegal in like 12 states, because if completed they would for sure break some sodomy law somewhere.

However once I put more thought into it…

These moves are soo bad because Solutions has offered the ultimate solution, No Cohan. As he would be forced to sell immediately upon their completion.

Would you trade AR for No Cohan????

We might have to take one for the team!! LOL

All time worse trades, had to be a joke, thanks for the laughter

The Worst one has got to be #4

we dump our two most promising, pivot players for two dudes I wouldn’t trade Bad Vlad for straight up….damn just classic.

If management ever pulled some garrbaaage like this, I would literally have to become a Clippers fan just to get a little more respect.

Classic Horribleness

I pray that you are never offered a GM position.. ever, EVER!!

like never ever ever ever.. lol

I make love to pressure - Stephen Jackson
They tried to put me in a BOX - Stephon Marbury

by Ro3ert0 on Dec 25, 2009 10:54 PM PST reply actions

C'mon, it might be nice if he got hired by the Lakers.

Or any other team you really, really hate. Heck, if he got hired by New Orleans it’d be a race to see who could get Chris Paul for a bag of Doritos.

In fact, this might the best possible strategy for Warriors improvement: Make “solutions” the GM of some team who has players we want!

is this comedy?

If you are serious about any of this I must ask; are you are a Warriors fan?

by gswwarriorfan on Dec 26, 2009 5:27 PM PST reply actions

I think trade 2 is the most ridiculous

Why would we give up 2 our of most athletic players (AR, Mags) for Dorrell Wright and Udonis Haslem (2 average players)
