GS Warriors at All Star Weekend?
As a die hard Warrior fan I hate how we have never really had any guy on the All Star team or our team really getting and major attention that much. I suppose in most cases we don't deserve it but i always dream of this team one day being a team thats on ESPN/ABC/TNT every week and in contention for a championship. I believe if guys like Anthony Randolph and Stephen Curry as well as some others develop and grow we may get to that level but there is no given that those two will reach thier full potential and then there always the worst front office every. Over the last decade we have seen Jason Richardson in the Dunk Contest as well as the rook/soph game along Arenas. The last person to go was Monta Ellis in 2007. My question is do you think that anyone on our team will represent the Warrior and participate in All Star weekend.

Anthony Randolph PF #4 I think although he has had a up and down season has a good chance of making the rook/soph game. Despite his inconsistent play his stats at 11 points 6 rebounds and a block a game are not bad for a 20 year old. Randolph has potential to be an All Star year in and year out but right now he just needs to stay consistent and continue to work hard. I think he really got alot of attention with his play in summer league and the end of the season so he is more known around the NBA. He still has alot of work to do to become that player we want at the 4 but i think AR will be in the rookie/sophmore game.

Stephen Curry PG #30
I think Stephen Curry has a great chance to make it to the Rookie game. He has not been given the national exposure of the Tyreke Evans or Brandan Jennings but Curry has still had a pretty good rookie year and has shown he can run a team although he does make silly turnovers from time to time. Curry is averaging 12 points and 4 assits while shooting good % from the field. He still has alot of developing to do also but I believe Curry has potential to be a top PG in the NBA and will definatly be here in Golden State for a long time.

Anthony Morrow SG #22
Morrow has been in a bit of a shooting slump lately but he should still definatly be in the 3 point shoot out. He is still at 46% on 3 pointers which is top 5 in the league and behind Ray Allen is arguably the best shooter in the league. If Anthony Morrow is left out of the 3 point shoot out i would be surprised. Ammo also has a chance to play in the rook/soph game but i don't think he will make it.

Monta Ellis SG #8
I didn't think Monta would be an All Star at the beginning of the year but i think if he doesn't make it it will not be because he doesn't deserve it. Monta is averaging 25 points(7th in NBA), 4 rebounds, 5 assits and 2 steals. He is playing very well since Jackson was traded. It's probably 50/50 right now but i don't think our record should come in play too much because there have been many All Stars over the years who have been on losing teams. There is alot of competition for guards in the West but I'm sure alot of us would be happy to have our first All Star since Latrell Sprewell.
So GSOM who do you think will represent our Warriors at All Star weekend?

Ellis actually has a decent chance of making it if Nash and Kobe are the guards voted it. Coaches will definitely add in CP3, but after that Ellis has a very good shot.
Morrow should be a lock for the 3 pnt contest. He now has enough exposure nationally that people know he has one of the best, if not the best, stroke in the game (even though he is in a massive slump)
Curry should also be a lock for the rookie game. He is at worst the third best rookie right now IMO.

No way
Morrow will definitely not be in the rook soph game…randolph probably wont, but he has a decent chance. Curry probably will though.
But it would be cool lol

Randolph has to compete with Jason Thompson, Brook Lopez and Michael Beasley
for big man minutes. Unless he seriously improves fast, I think he’ll miss the game.
Two centers
One power forward and one combo forward. They can vote in an extra big so I think AR can get it. Plus Love hasn’t played a lot this year.
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
Soph lineup probably will look like
Rose/Mayo/Beasley/Thompson/Lopez

If Randolph
doesn’t get in the rookie game which i’m hopeing he does, I hope he gets to participate in All Star Saturday(Dunk Contest, Skills Challenge). This year All Star Weekend is in his home town of Dallas so I know that would make him feel great. If Randolph does make the rookie sophmore game i think he will have a big game though

Nice read
We’ve been doing the same rookie-soph math over at StR. One of the catches is that in the past, each team has been limited to 9 players. We think that Evans and Casspi might make the rookie team, but that might cost Thompson consideration for the soph team (figuring that the NBA likes to spread the wealth whenever it does not involve the Knicks, Celtics or L*kers).
The players that you list are all exciting and fun to watch. I hope that I get to see some of them at all-star weekend.

I think Randolph
has a good chance to make it but probably not Morrow. I also heard some where on RealGM that Randolph may be in the dunk contest. I’m not sure if it is true though.

Here's the problem for Randolph (and even Jason Thompson) -
Lopez, Gasol, Westbrook and Rose are in. Mayo and Gordon are both averaging 17-18 a game, and they have more pub. That leaves three spots.
Beasley is at 16 and 7 right now, so he probably gets a spot. Thompson (15 and 9) and Gallinari (15 pts. and the European and Knicks market) would likely fill out the squad, though Love will probably get enough time in to bump one of them (and my bet is that it would be Thompson, since the Kings will probably have Evans and Casspi playing for the freshmen). This would leave guys like Thompson, Randolph, Morrow, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Marresse Speights on the outside.
Curry ranks somewhere between 3-6 amongst the rookies, so he’s in, even if Blake Griffin earns an automatice invitation.

Oh -
And this is a stats game. If they were choosing on talent and/or upside, I have Randolph as a top 6-7 guy.

morrow will make the 3 pnt contest, not the soph game

If Randolph doesn’t get into the All-Star game i at least hope he makes it to the Slam Dunk Contest. I mean, who else gonna be in it?
Are you serious? Randolph in the dunk contest?
I mean the dude is a beast when he gets to the rim but nowhere do I see him being a creative dunker.
On youtube
there is a Anthony Randolph viedo where he is preparing for the draft and he has some very impressive dunks. He is not the best dunker but he can get up there and be creative. I’ll try and find it for you.

Morrow is making me nervious
I am pretty sure he is a lock for the 3pt shootout right now, but his slump is making is easy to pass him over.
I am also worried he wont be able to knock the shot down if he gets in. Is he having a hard time with pressure shots?
More than anyone else on the team, I hope Morrow participates and sets a new record for 3’s made

True
It’s probably 50/50 right now but i don’t think our record should come in play too much because there have been many All Stars over the years who have been on losing teams
Devin Harris and Danny Granger made the all star team last year for the east, and their teams didn’t have winning records, so why shouldn’t Monta be on the all star team. But I don’t know, theres a lot of competition in the west, among the gaurds.
If I don't like it, I don't like it, that don't mean that I'm hatin.
