Trade Proposal: Maggete to Bobcats
I like this trade. Bobcats are looking for a wing, and Felton has become tradeable because the Cats like Augustin more. We save a bit of money, and we get an actual point guard that can really ball given the proper motivation. I had to throw Sean May in there to make the salaries work. In my opinion, I don't think Maggete is much more valuable than Felton at all, and we get to save money. Let the rebuild begin! Please Cohan+Rowell, don't hold out hope that this team will do anything, learn and move quick!

maggette
even though his contract is bad has been a great 6th man. He is providing that scoring spark off the bench that every team needs. I think it fits him well because thats all he really is anyway.. a scorer. Just sucks we have to pay our 6th man that kind of dough. Besides.. what are we going to do with felton right now? Play him in front of crawford? Ellis? Or are you thinking as a backup? We already have enough gaurds.

+1...I totally agree and I didnt feel this way last month
But I do now, it looks like that hamstring injury was really affecting him. Im glad he’s recovered and being a warrior, cause he was looking like a clipper there for a bit…

If for nothing else we can move Maggette out and bring in a true point guard (at least temporarily). The Maggette contract was bad from the beginning, and the prospect of him in a dubs jersey the next few years makes me sick.
Another positive aspect is of course the two expiring contracts, whereas Maggette’s gonna keep raking it in. We need to free up space in order to give us an opportunity at signing an impact 4. I don’t mean we need Bosh or Amare, In fact I think those trade thoughts are bad on the W’s end (odds are we’d mortgage our future for a guy who’s gonna opt out and leave us dry). The type of 4 the W’s should focus on is more like David Lee, Paul Milsap, or Lamar Odom.
Anyone who thinks Maggette is a keeper, feel free to leave with him when the Ws manage to send him packing.

I hate it when people put this garbage in the fanshots.

Garbage?
What makes you think that? As far as I’m concerned, your opinion is garbage since you decided it best not to state why you think this was garbage. Get the hell out.
And seriously guys, I know Maggete has been doing alright the last month or so, but that’s not the point. The objective is always the future, and to see if we can compete. We’re obviously not going to compete with this roster, at least the way it’s being run. So we might as well shed cap and re-build…again.
The Maggete contract will continue to be a burden until we can field a starting 5 worth of a 60 million dollar 6th man.
Yeah, it’s another guard, but it’s an ACTUAL POINT GUARD. Crawford is a 2 no matter what his size dictates, and Ellis sure as hell isn’t a point guard, no matter what the Warriors like to think.
Obviously, just because I propose bringing in another guard doesn’t mean I want us to add Felton and stand pat with all the other guards on our team. Don’t be stupid and close-minded (directly directed to Mr. Nuck Chorris. And seriously dude, how long did it take you to come up with that name? Genius.)

The reason why this trade is a bad idea
is because although Felton would be a decent pg for our team, to somehow think we can easily trade our glut of overpaid guards for something useful is just ignorant (besides the fact that Larry Brown would HATE Maggette.) Although I like Crawford, hopefully he will opt out this summer so that our back court is a little less crowded and we will have the cap space to bring in what this team needs way more, a PF who can rebound. All these Maggette trade proposals are coming a month too late, I would have agreed with you then, but seeing as how he is healthy and giving us a great spark off the bench, one of the things we were missing most last year, I don’t get why everyone wants to unload him asap (aside from his contract, which is inflated, but not by that much.) And as far as competing, given the Chemistry we have seen develop recently with everyone healthy, if we added another big to the rotation, I would consider us a lock for the playoffs next year, albeit no higher than a 6th seed.

Larry Brown Would Hate Him, You're right
But why the hell are the dubs so infatuated with Maggette? He is such trash, it makes me ill watching him. He’s an anemic defender both on the ball and help, and the guy intentionally slows down fast breaks. All he does is hoist and drive, and even when he gets to the line, he’s turned into mainly a clanker…
Also pisses me off how Jim and Bob love the hell outa this guy, always trumping up how much he scores in how few of minutes; ’cause all he does is hoist the rock.
Anyone who would take Maggette off our hands would be doing us a favor, and I don’t think Larry Brown is that stupid. The GM in Charlotte, Mr. Jordan might be dumb enough though.
The W’s need to, themselves, start trying to stockpile expiring contracts- in fact I see that as the only positive of bringing in either Bosh or Amare (anyone who thinks they’d resign w/ the dubs or that Cohan and Rowell would resign them is a naive W’s fan- know the track record)- that they have expiring contracts though is kinda a positive.
