NBA Trade Headlines
So the Kings trade John Salmons & Brad Miller to the Chicago Bulls for Andres Nocioni & Drew Gooden.
Personally, I like the trade for the Kings a little better and it works out for the players being shipped out of Chicago better.
For the Bulls-
John Salmons has developed over the past year, the ability to score. He's a well rounded player that can cover the 2 and 3 positions. He played arguably the best D on the Kings and never loses intensity. He can do a little bit of everything, rebound, score, pass and picks up where other players slack off.
I don't see how this works out well for Salmons, being that the Bulls have a ridiculously crowded backcourt (remind you of any other teams?). He's going to have a hard time breaking into Chicago's Rotation at anywhere other than the 3 spot. Good luck John.
Brad Miller, is on the wrong side of 30, but is still showing he can play. He's had a couple of monster games this season against "decent" teams including a 25 and 15 double-double against the Detroit Pistions and a 30 and 22 performance against none other than our beloved Warriors. He can put up the 3, shooting a career high 47% from the arch and is a decent low post defender. He could be a valuable trade tool come off-season.
This is a positive move for Brad in that he no longer has Spencer Hawes pushing him out of his starting position. He's a favorite (of mine) to take the starting 5 position and as a vet is invaluable to the young players as a mentor. He may even come off the bench giving the Bulls a deeper bench, than they already have.
For the Kings-
Andres Nocioni is a proven role player and a great piece to a team looking for scoring and energy off the bench. He may get the nod at the starting 3 position, giving the Kings a bigger lineup. A decent rebounder for his height and size, he can fill up the scoreboard in quick fashion. Also a great 3pt shooter at 39% this year. We'll see if he can provide consistency, alonside Kevin Martin.
This is a good move for Nocioni, he can move to a starting position and prove what level he's cabable of achieving as a starting player.
Drew Gooden is an above average offensive rebounder and proved it while playing alongside Lebron and Big Z. The Cavalier team that led the Nba in Offensive rpg. He's decent in the paint on both offense and defense and is also an above average passer out of the post. He has a decent midrange jumper.
It looks as though he might take over the 4 spot and move either Jason Thompson or Spencer Hawes to the 5. He gives the Kings a double-double threat night in and night out. He also provides them with a monster on the offensive boards giving them more looks on offense.
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Strikes me as a win for the Bulls. The Kings saved some money, yeah, but they shipped out the most useful player in Miller, and they’re taking on the worst contract in Nocioni. Rebuilding can be ugly sometimes.
+1
Brad Miller is slightly better than Nocioni. The rest of the trade is just filler
Salmons
aint bad

Whoops, I thought Salmons was an expiring contract. That guy isn’t any good, all he can do is score. He’s a bad rebounder, and he might be a worse defender than even Jamal Crawford.
Sacramento got the better of this deal then, Chicago’s going to be paying Salmons for the next three years, and he’s worse than all of their other guards, even Larry Hughes.
meh
4 rebs per 36 mins isnt horrible for a guard (similar to Monta) and nearly 4 assists per 36 mins isnt bad either. He’s a very efficient scorer and shoots the 3 very well.

Ah
I see what you mean. How do you think Salmons will work out in Chicago? I know Brad can push himself into a starting role.
- iBall, do you?
Brad Miller is back in Chicago.
The Bulls are probably going to move Kirk Hinirch just so they can dump his salary.

How can you make a post about a trade in 2009
And not mention the salary-cap or luxury-tax implications? The fact that Gooden is expiring is HUGE.
Also, the Bulls got the better end of it, talent-wise, although people tend to overrate Salmons, that ballhog.
this is a warriors site right?
wtf

hahah
Chandler for Wilcox’s trade got nulled hahahah
I just read that
sucks for the Thunder, they would’ve had a major improvement with him starting at Center.

![Rumor: Warriors Pushing Corey Maggette Hard in Trade Talks [Yahoo! Sports]
"Three NBA executives say that the Golden State Warriors are pushing Corey Maggette hard in trade talks. Other players that executives say are available include Philadelphia 76ers center Sam Dalembert, Charlotte Bobcats guard Raymond Felton and forward Adam Morrison, Chicago Bulls forward Drew Gooden and guard Larry Hughes and Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller."
Looks like the Dubs are pushing Maggette out, but is any team actually interested in pulling him in right now? Maggette has 4 years left on his deal after this season (2009-2010: $8.9 million, 2010-2011: $9.6 million, $10.3 million, $10.9 million). Way to go Robert Rowell on "protecting" the Warriors' long term salary cap structure by not resigning Boom Dizzle!
I'd be all about bringing Drew Gooden back to the Bay though. This Oakland-born balla from El Cerito High would be an ideal complement for Andris Biedrins up front. He has a nice mid-range jumper, a few offensive skills, and would definitely improve the Warriors' rebounding, especially paired up with Biedrins. Gooden's actually an expiring contract at $7.1 million this season, so it'd be a great move cap-wise.
I'm probably THE harshest critic of the Jason Richardson for Brandan Wright trade (and I in turn have my harsh critics for that stance), but I still to this today contend that as great as J-Rich was he could be moved for a decent 4 like Gooden to improve that We Believe team. Trading JR for a raw, unready rookie with questionable upside, an unused $10 million dollar trade exception that this franchise was too cheap to actually use, and some propaganda about how it helped the team resign Biedrins and Moped Ellis was a joke though.
Maggette for Gooden straight up?](http://cdn1.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/26164/3157842465_c0e0f09746_small.jpg)
