It's not often a "superstar" comes to play in our house and we say to ourselves, "this should be an easy win for us!" Well tonight is one of those nights. Am I optimistic? Yes! Is it because we're playing the best basketball of the year and our players are all back healthy? No! It's because we're about to play the Thunder. Probably the ONLY team in the league I don't worry about. I mean honestly, I'd worry about the Kings before I'd worry about the Thunder.

The problem is that I'm possibly setting myself up to have to eat my own words. And those words would be KEVIN DURANT. Superstar. I know some of you might disagree with the superstar crowning at this very moment but check out the most recent stat's he's putting up for the past 5 games:

Averaging 35 points, 7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2 steals a game.

The problem for Durant is that he's surrounded by guys I've never heard of. Guys who wouldn't even make the Warriors bench. Which is ok for us because we'll take any win at this point. Here's looking at Randolph having a huge game and allowing our young guys to get extra pt.

GO WARRIORS!

-          Warriors win by 11 at the buzzer.

-          Randolph makes 4 crazy dunks. 1 of which gets on ESPN.

-          Ellis still has a slow night.

-          Durant is guarded by Jackson but still puts up 30+.

-          TV announcers don't even recognize Durant's teammates.

We're playing well enough

to the point where I can now say that we SHOULD win this game, we SHOULD be able to rotate and slow them down on defense, we SHOULD be able to move the ball, find the open guy and score on offense. We SHOULD continue to gel and come together, and we SHOULDN’T have a major mental breakdown and collapse. This Warrior team has been more stable and predictable than last season’s roller coaster ride of being down, then up, then down, then finally up at the buzzer.

  That makes absolutely no sense? Last years team won like 48 games, they were fairly predictable. This years edition has been all over the map , beating some good teams and losing to some bad teams.

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?

So I’m a freshman in college living in a residential dorm at UCSC and half of the people are from LA. THEY ALL ARE FRIGGIN DUMB LAKER FANS and it annoys heck out of me, seriously.

Most of them didn’t even watch wednesday’s game, and went out of their way to tell me how much the warriors sucked and how kobe was the best.

The guy with the most Laker pride (and just pride) in my dorm, didn’t even know where the warriors were from until coming up to santa cruz. I asked him to name 5 laker players and he goes, “Kobe, Farmar, Paul Gasol, … uhhh Oden and Kwame Brown.” – enough said. His buddies soon corrected him in shame, and he still tried to back himself up by saying how Brown was a elite center..

This same guy I bet 5 dollars on this last game, and man was it the worst warrior loss for me this year.

I wouldn’t hate the Lakers as much as I do if it weren’t for the fans. The one day Warriors rise and the Laker franchise finally falls is going to be the happiest time in my life. Kobe isn’t going to be playing basketball forever.

yeah

i hate them all of them act like bandwagon warrior fans. but really really don’t have a clue on the team other than Kobe. and to your last line they may not get Kobe forever but they still get tons of money because those dumb fans those dumb Laker fans still pay how much for a seat they will have tons for a free agent when he leaves, and a lot of elite players would die to play their when they get the chance.

Its sad but true, though i could be wrong because look at the Knicks but that’s mostly dumb management but looks like they will come back with the Lebron thing and other FA’s who wanna come their all of a sudden.

We showed the LA fans….the crowd there was silenced FOREVER with that second 3. I gave my roommate (one of the few sensible Laker fans in the cosmos) a good amount of ribbing for that.

The extension may not have been very smart, but Im glad we still have Capt. Jack.

I don’t agree with the extension either, but we might as well make the most of it since we have him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an excellent basketball player. However, I WOULD NOT have him as my team leader/captain.

but you can’t say that jeff green and russell westbrook are absolute no-namers… i worry about playing the thunder more than i worry about a lot of other teams… not to say the warriors wont pull it out and the thunder are coming off a horrible defensive game..

Not to mention the Thunder have beaten the Warriors twice this season, including Greens bankshot buzzer beater.

Looking forward to the game tonight! It’s a must win for the Thunder heading home to face the Lakers if they want any kind of confidence heading into a game against the leagues best team (Record Wise).

  For sure, those misplaced Sonics got a bright future with Durant and crew. Once they get a good big man they’ll be ready for the playoffs. I’d gladly trade teams with them right now.

i was a Marshalls like a week ago and they had a surplus of Durant Sonics jerseys and other items. I kinda regret not getting them because for some reason i think they might be really good collectors items someday especially if the team takes forever, or never comes back to Seattle.

As long

as we get to see a little more Randolf I think a win is easily attainable. Anthony’s energy level, although sometimes errant, is through the Roaracles roof. Why is Nelly sleeping on this guy?
We also need to see less of Monta until he is 100%. His game is just plain off right now and I’m hoping it’s not symptomatic of things to come in the future. His cross-over J is looking good but he’s simply not exploding towards the rim as in previous years. Reign his game in a little and maybe give us a little more Morrow. Remember him?

It's been good

I have season tickets, I’ve gone to every game except 2 (one during an ice storm, one I was too tired to go to). It’s been fun to follow them, I blog about them and I’ve been in the newspaper, ont TV, and other stuff for being a fan of them. But, when the Warriors come into the arena, I know who I’m cheering for: the Warriors. Everyone here gives me a hard time about it, but when you’ve cheered for a team your whole life, you can’t just drop them because a new team comes to town.

Anyway, I’m enjoying it while it lasts, especially since I’ve dreamed of an OKC team since I was little. But, my interest will probably fade in them once I go to college in another state this fall, and I get disconnected from the hometown buzz. I mean, I’ve followed the Warriors on the internet and TV for a long time with no one to talk to about it, but I don’t know if I could see myself following the Thunder in that way.
