Dear Warriors, Please trade for Amare
This just in from Yahoo Sports "Amare Stoudemire has reportedly been placed on the trading block as the February 19 deadline approaches"
I know this is not necessary NEW news that he might be on the block but seems like hes now REALLY kinda sorta "Available."
In my opinion, Amare is the perfect low post player the warriors have been lacking for however many years. Him and Biedrins together could be a sick dynamic duo and young core for us to work with along with Monta. How would we get him? Obviously thats an important question and one I wanted to throw out there to all of you. HOW CAN WE TRADE FOR AMARE?
Personally I would be willing to give up our first two draft picks in this years draft (obviously high because our record blows) and maybe even more.
Thoughts?

we can't get amare
0% change of it happening to us.
suns want someone to help them… none of our players can help them play defense or rebound.
i dont agree
I think they are rebuilding. Rebuilding=draft
Give them Randolph, give them b wright. I dont care just do whatever it takes to get AMARE

hahah...
yeah right…phx would fall over laughing if mullin sent them that…
maggs has almost no trade value with his excessive contract, injury proneness, and abysmal defense (and spotty offense)
marcus williams is also worth nothing (i shouldn’t have to explain why)
and brandan wright is a solid trading chip, but not enough to tempt phx to get rid of STAT
basically, to get amare, a team will have to make a godfather offer, and he is not worth that. he is horrible on defense, can’t rebound out of his zone, and doesn’t seem to be quite the offensive player he was. also, not worth the massive contract he is on, and the massive extension he will want in 2010 or 2011.
next.

mwill is for cap space
he is gone after this season.
switch Maggette with Crawford and I’d be happy as hell (although I doubt they’d take it). I’d throw in CJ as well, they could use his consistency. plus our draft pick? OK!
id rather do maggs
cuz crawford can opt out at the end of the season and we can get baron back

“Perhaps signaling a willingness to dismantle their roster, the Phoenix Suns have begun exchanging trade proposals with teams for All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire, league executives told Yahoo! With dysfunction and dissension reigning within the Suns, rival front-office executives believe general manager Steve Kerr is determined to move Stoudemire and others before the Feb. 19 trade deadline. can we still trade adonal foyle since we are paying him?
It would be fun to see Amare, Biedrins, and Turiaf on the same team. That’s a lot of talent in the paint without becoming a slow, halfcourt team
No
You can only trade players who are on roster- the Warriors buying out Foyle took away the possibility of trading him (it’s also why the Blazers have kept Raef so long)
If you like this idea of trading for Amare
recommend this post
yeah no doubt
he’ll end up on the lakers for chris mihm and sun yue. I think the warriors have potential to get the deal done, at least based on that report. Everyone is up for grabs, and in that article states that phoenix wants expiring contracts, draft picks and young talent. Marcus Williams is a nice expiring contract. Our pick for next year’s draft will be attractive, and combine that with a young talent of Wright, Randolph and/or marco and I think its a strong basis of a package. The big contracts we have are all made to relatively young players, so if throwing in Crawford and/or Maggette will help get it done, then it could work. Wishful thinking sure, but you never know….we once got disgruntled PG Baron Davis for a combo of speedy claxton and dale davis
Amare is attainable
not like the suns are winning anything this year – they may not even be in the playoffs. Of course Amare is attainable, I would part with anybody besides Ellis, Biedrins and Jackson – those are keepers. We get Amare today and we have a legitimate shot at the playoffs this year.

attainable
but not by us..
if you were the suns.. and detroit offered rasheed wallace for amare.. would you really take anything the warriors offered.. remember the warriors are in your division and one of their big needs is a pf.
why would they want sheed for amare
when they want draft pics, young talent, and expiring contracts. Sheed would make them even older and probably worse.
true...anything can happen
2 years ago u think KG would be in Boston, Baron on the Clippers or J Rich on the Bobcats…anything is possible…but if i were phoenix I would want to trade him to the east so he doesn’t come back and bust my ass 4 games a year

Why would we trade Biedrins?
I’d rather substitute a 1st round draft pick.
i'm down...
for this…even though we lose 2 bigs. Just imagine…Crawford (1) Ellis (2) Jack (3) Stoudemire (4) Biedrins (5) with Turiaf, Azubuike, Watson, Morrow, Belinelli, Kurz off the bench. Stoudemire cures all problems! We can always add role playing free agents. Please God, bring Amare to the Warriors!

Yes, that would work for me.
One thing to note, however… Phoenix is interested in DRAFT PICKS and EXPIRING CONTRACTS.
then TRADE for an exiring contract…http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=172749734552789831&teams=9521521&te=&cash=
Since JRich still loves the Dubs and their fans, he might
convince Kerr that they can re-live the “We Believe” PHX version with JRich, Jax and Barnes and trade Amare for SJax, AR, Crawford, and Dwill.
to sweeten the deal, they can try:

Why would we want to give up Jackson…
by StephenJaaackson! on Feb 5, 2009 4:50 PM PST up reply actions
easy...
we’d have less TOs…and less complaints to the refs after a TO or missed shot while his teammates are busting their arses back on the other end to play some D.
JR...An All-Time Warriors Favorite!
btw, I'm not hating on Jax...he's still wearing a Ws jersey you know...
it’s just that I’m sick of his forcing things…I know this is largely due to Nellie but that’s got to end. He has to play within his limits. He’s better that way. It’s just that he’s doing more since no one else can run the O. But this has to stop. He also has to stop his whining to the refs and help out his teammates on the other end.
JR...An All-Time Warriors Favorite!
Stephen Jackson
You’re right….Jackson is trying to do too much and is much better when he doesn’t feel that he needs to be the go-to guy every night; however, if you take Jackson away from our squad, then you compromise all the emotion that made us who we were. I miss the emotion of Barnes, B-Diddy, and J-Rich…We need someone to instill that passion and emotion in our youngsters….DON’T TRADE JACKSON.
by StephenJaaackson! on Feb 6, 2009 2:13 PM PST up reply actions
But there's a difference between the emotion of those guys you mentioned and SJax's
When SJax shows his emotions, they tend to lead to technicals or not going back on defense, thus giving the momentum to the opposition. Believe it or not, any wrong behavior on the court can easily backfire and benefit the other team. BTW, we’ve got Turiaf pumping up the fans and the Dubs better than Jax. So if you feel this is Jax’ greatest attribute, then he’s very much expendable. But I wouldn’t feel this way if he could just ease up on this try-hard attitude and let the game come to him…I don’t mind 2 TOs a game, just stop forcing things and definitely stop acting like he’s LeBron or Kobe. Because he ain’t.
JR...An All-Time Warriors Favorite!
They'd get Deron Williams too!?!?!?!?!?!?
Nelly has wet dreams about starting Monta at center.
yeah...DeMarcus Nelson Williams...
aren’t they the same? In all seriousness, DeMarcus Nelson…where is he nowadays?
JR...An All-Time Warriors Favorite!
speaking on trading Jax, does anyone
have access to ESPN Insider? They have an article about this at http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/news/story?id=3873172&action=login&appRedirect=http3a2f2finsider.espn.go.com2fnba2finsider2fnews2fstory3fid%3d3873172

HE WAS COOL AND ALL BUT PLEASE, MOVE ON. WE DONT NEED MATTY BACK.
He is on the rest of an expiring contract....
It’s not like we are getting him for multiple years….He could definitely help on the boards and if he doesn’t who cares???He will be gone at the end of the season.

who doesn’t love Barnes? I could see him helping the team, too.
Amare Stoudemire is the modern day Shawn Kemp
I’d love to have him around, but I think everyone is overvaluing his actual talent out there. Me & my friends were talking about how Amare’s game was a recreation of Kemp’s game back at his peak. Unfortuantely, Kemp was also tempermental, as he would get lazy on both ends of the court when the ball was not flowing through him offensively. Both players also required a ball-dominant point guard to create for them, which they were fortunate to have. The biggest difference between the two was Kemp was a better rebounder and Amare is more consistent from the line.
Conceivably, he is the most talented PF in the NBA outside of Tim Duncan and maybe Chris Bosh. Now the biggest problem I see is Amare’s need for a ball-dominant point guard to create for him. Although Amare has a good low post skill set and can hit jumpers from outside of the key, a majority of his points came from an assist from Nash (and Starbury during his rookie season). Unfortuantely, we don’t have a PG that would fit the bill, as our best distributer is Stephen Jackson (with Crawford coming in at a strong second). I just don’t see how things would work out for Amare here. Amare just doesn’t seem to have the mind set to create his own shots and be a dominant force all of the time. If he wont try in Phoenix (where a championship is still a possibility), what makes you think he’ll give it a go here?
by Mr. Monday Night on Feb 5, 2009 5:08 PM PST reply actions
Does anyone else think
that Amare’s game started to decline when he developed his jumper? It sounds counter-intuitive, but I think he settles for that jumper way too much. He’s so big and athletic that he’s usually one dribble away from the rim. He was so dominant when he was attacking the rim, I miss that Amare.
he
cant get to the rim because shaq’s huge body is in the post most of the time.
lest just say
amare went downhill ever since terry porter arrived.
the scary part is amare has not even reached his prime yet.
the scary part is amare has not even reached his prime yet.
Then we should get him. Montay, Wright, Marco, Kurz, and Williams, is that enough? We can talk about picks too. What’s that all add up to? I’d rather keep Dris to pair with amare, Montay is expendable now that we have Crawford, Wright is a frail rail, Marco has some trade value, Kurz and williams can keep their bench from blowing away.
But realistically the Suns will want one high quality player for Amare instead of a mixed collection.
Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

Possible Trade
Let me start by saying that I really don’t know what Phoenix is trying to do. Win right now? Re-build for the future? Who knows. With that being said, I can’t really see any trade out there that makes sense for the Suns. No matter what happens, the suns will lose. Therefore, why not throw the Warriors into the mix. This trade makes lots of sense for both teams.
PF Amare Stoudemire, 15.1 – 16.4 – 17.7
for
SG Jamal Crawford, 8.6 – 9.4 – 10.1
SF Kelenna Azubuike, 2.9 – 3.1 – 3.4
PF Brandan Wright, 2.5 – 2.7 – 3.4
PG Marcus Williams, 1.2
This trade works financially and seems to make sense for both teams
Suns
PG Nash/Dragic
SG Crawford/Azubuike
SF Richardson/Hill
PF Wright/Barnes
C O’Neal/Lopez
Warriors
PG Ellis/Watson
SG Belinelli/Morrow
SF Jackson/Maggette
PF Stoudemire/Randolph
C Biedrins/Turiaf
I would even trade Monta Ellis & Brandan Wright (allowing us to keep Crawford and Azubuike) for Stoudemire.
Unfortunately for the suns, they lack any sense of an identity. They certainly aren’t a run-and-gun/fast break team anymore, and haven’t resembled one since they traded Marion for O’Neal. To consider they made that trade last season, sitting in first place, is harrowing.
And, arguably, Nash and Amare thrived in D’Antoni’s style, and would probably do so in Nellie’s system. Amare would be a blessing, and his numbers could skyrocket to their former glory.
Another wacky Amare proposal
Now, this would require draft picks going to NJ. I’d be down with send our 2010 1st round pick.
A Sonics fan without a team.. Though I'm auditioning GS Warriors this season.
There's no way
they’ll give us Amare without asking for Biedrins in return. They want to trade him to the Eastern Conference, so we’d have to offer them a hell of a deal for them to send us Amare.
Plus he’s not that great. He sucks on defense, and he’s not as physical as he should be in the low-post. He could be great, but he hasn’t proved it. I wouldn’t break the bank for him, unless we can somehow hold onto Ellis and Biedrins too, which I don’t see happening.
seriously?
if you were a suns fan you’d be mad someone even suggested that.

no, I do know
We wouldnt be giving the Suns any large expiring contracts like the Grizz got for Pau, we wouldnt be giving them any prospects even close to Al Jefferson quality, and we wouldnt be giving them a top 5 draft pick like Seattle/OKC got in return for Ray Allen.

Yep
Go with Maggs + BWright + #2 Pick for Amare
I will always be your fan JRich. Good Luck
yep
go with a bunch of crap we dont even really want that bad anymore for a multiple-time all-star PF just entering his prime. cuz thatll work.
"It’s a hobby of mine. Kind of like collecting your fingernail clippings or pooping in jars." -olympic mike
ummmm...yea
if you switch out crap for not-crap then they might think about it.
"It’s a hobby of mine. Kind of like collecting your fingernail clippings or pooping in jars." -olympic mike
If we somehow were able to trade for amare, would it really be worth giving up our young guys for a one and a half year rental? Unless Amare goes to a championship contender, I’m guessing he’ll be out of the door for big bucks via free agency in 2010. He would make the Dubs better but certainly not a contender, so he would end up leaving in a year.
There is no way we’re getting Amare for the simple fact that we do not have any expiring contracts that are big enough to entice Steve Kerr.
by joestar on Feb 8, 2009 1:28 AM PST reply actions 1 recs
Make it happen
Amare would be a great fit on our team. We don’t have any players who come close to his level and I’d happily trade anyone on the team to make it happen. For those who don’t want to trade Andris to get Amare consider this- Amare played the 5 spot on the Suns when they were winning 50 games. Last season he averaged 25 points on 59% shooting! 9.1 boards. 8 free throws per game shooting 80%. And 2 blocks. Are you kidding, you’re not going to trade Andris for Amare?
One a separate note, one thing the Suns seem to be looking to do is to build on defense, maybe with a more “traditional” type of lineup. If I’m them, I’ve got to get a 4 somehow if I trade Amare. They need a 4 who can rebound, can defend, and is athletic enough to cover for Shaq’s slow feet. Ideally someone who could also knock down mid rangers. Add to that some salary relief and a young backcourt player and you’ve got something.
They should take
Randolph off our hands. Lords knows he won’t develop well with Nellie coaching him. Randolph + any other 2 or 3 guys on our team except Beans and Wright and I’m happy.
Amare AND Shaq
Chad Ford reporting Suns want to dump $40m in salary by deadline which means Amare AND Shaq
Who wants both amare and Shaq? I do I do
