Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

OPEN THREAD: Warriors vs. Jazz - Repeat?

Utah Jazz at Golden State Warriors, Mar 1, 2009 6:00 PM PST

I smell trouble coming...

Warriors: 20-38
Jazz: 36-23
Tip-Off: 6:00 PM PST
TV: CSN
Radio: KNBR 680

Want to take a guess when the last team the Utah Jazz lost?

That's right.  At the Roarcle.  That was quite some time ago.

Granted they were missing some players.  But here's the way I look at it.

Carlos_boozer12_medium

They have this guy.

267_medium

We don't have that guy.  (He's sitting this game)

Jamal_edit_medium

We have that guy.

BUT WE STILL GONNA LOSE.

R Dizzle's Fantasy Basketball Predictions

  • Warriors win by 15
  • AR comes down with 25 mins, 20 points, 10 boards
  • Rob Kurz with another double-double
  • Boozer gets shut down by our killer defense and is held to 5 points
  • Deron Williams gets stuffed by Turiaf

You KNOW you want to

you can try all you want. You can close your eyes, you can run away, but you will ALWAYS be back. Welcome to your life.

stop yourself from watching this game?

Find a woman with handcuffs ? preferably not a police officer

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

by Skeptic con Urquell on Mar 1, 2009 3:40 PM PST up reply actions

but wait

If she wanted to torture me:
torture = watching the warriors

I don’t think that’s the way to go.

by disguy on Mar 1, 2009 3:48 PM PST up reply actions

If she wanted to torture me:

There’s no way any woman could hurt you as much as watchin a nellie coached team of miss matchers try to inbound the ball.

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

R Dizzle again?

So while Nellie rotates his veterans, is GSOM sticking to one veteran for the rest of the season? Oh I see. He just loves that Crawford pic in a suit with the arrow on him.

Anyway, good job to Barnes today. On my way home from the office, I heard the Lakers @ Suns game and the Lakers were coming back, but Barnes made a critical 3 late in the game to keep the lead comfortable. Said the radio play-by-play, it was a “cold blooded” shot.

by IQofaWarrior on Mar 1, 2009 3:37 PM PST reply actions

Saw the geme and both x-warriors did good

Barnes was Barnes at his best and any time Koby’s teeth get knocked in it’s a good thing.

There's a party in my mind.
And I wish that I was there.

"Sit down Jack!"

We’ll just make it “sit down shells”

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?

at least boozer isn't full strength...

…he’ll probably only get like 20pts/30reb

shawn marion's jumper makes me want to crap a book on how to puke.

by The Bimbo Coles Experience on Mar 1, 2009 5:31 PM PST up reply actions

I don’t know about you guys, but I feel confident that we can hang around with the Jazz. Even if Biedrins doesn’t play and even though we’re without Jackson because Nellie has officially lost his brain, we can play with any team at home and I think this one will come down to the fourth quarter. We’re going to have to a chance.

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 5:38 PM PST reply actions

really?

who is going to match up to boozer and Ak47?

by saintdee on Mar 1, 2009 5:50 PM PST up reply actions

Rob Kurz and Jermareo Davidson, perhaps?

I don’t anticipate Boozer getting a lot of playing time. The Jazz aren’t going to rush into anything. This is only going to be his fourth game back.

Even still, I'm going to watch Morrow closely again

he’s our “least developed” player in terms of game time experience.

why are we sitting vets?

all we have to do is let them play, sit them when tired, sit them when they are 1-12 shooting. we do not have to sit and players

I will always be your fan JRich. Good Luck

yeah we do….Marco

just tell CJ to work on his Defense

by chili01 on Mar 1, 2009 6:07 PM PST reply actions

Crawford has size for someone playing point guard. It’s not like he can defend or anything, though.

His natural position is the “2”

talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish

by starry night on Mar 1, 2009 7:17 PM PST up reply actions

I don’t think it matters between shooting guard and small forward. Azubuike is just as good at either spot.

by Torukine on Mar 1, 2009 6:29 PM PST up reply actions

i just love this game so far

even if we lose this will be the only game when we have not had these stupid iso plays by jack

by farid on Mar 1, 2009 6:28 PM PST reply actions

we

look smoother without jackson. Or maybe its cause Beli is in. or maybe cause CJ is out.

by saintdee on Mar 1, 2009 6:30 PM PST reply actions

what are you talking about

it’s obvious that the jazz are getting complacent because stack jack isn’t in there.

by jchao204 on Mar 1, 2009 6:32 PM PST up reply actions

are they?

CJ is good at jumpers, 3’s…Monat is good at fastbreak..getting to the rim. D is about the same. LGW!

I think Watson is a little better defensively.

The Ultimate Opportunist

Wow

It’s like the rest of the team is thinking “jack’s out, we gotta make up for his turnovers by creating our own”

by Torukine on Mar 1, 2009 6:37 PM PST reply actions

its

better then seeing one person repeatedly make TOs though.

by saintdee on Mar 1, 2009 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

no.

turnovers are always bad, no matter how many people there are

by jchao204 on Mar 1, 2009 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

lazy passing

I think jamal/marco are tired

by mosdl on Mar 1, 2009 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

Crawford and Belinelli did play the whole quarter.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

Jackson could have played tonight.

PG: Crawford and Watson
SG: Belinelli and Morrow
SF: Jackson and Azubuike

C: Biedrins and Turiaf

Morrow is worse defensively than both Belinelli and Watson.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 6:42 PM PST reply actions

If you take out the big men, that leaves Crawford, Belinelli, Jackson, Morrow, Ellis, and Watson. Belinelli is probably our second best defender by default.

That’s not saying much.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 6:44 PM PST up reply actions

still CJ has like NO defense

at least Marco can stop people or at least stays with whoever he is guarding

Nice, that foul has put Utah in the penalty.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 6:52 PM PST reply actions

Well, Azubuike took it to the rim, but he couldn’t make a dunk.

The Ultimate Opportunist

why didn't morrow take it to the basket

passing to buike was dangerous, and morrow was almost to the basket

This is encouraging

we’re hanging in with the jazz at the moment

by jchao204 on Mar 1, 2009 6:55 PM PST up reply actions

Are we going to see Randolph before the half?

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 6:58 PM PST reply actions

Nellie's not stupid for that..

Okur went CRAZY on us with AR defending him. He’s actually thinking defensively for a change..(not that I’m saying it’ll help..)

by Torukine on Mar 1, 2009 6:59 PM PST up reply actions

The kid has to learn at some point.

The Ultimate Opportunist

by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 1, 2009 7:00 PM PST up reply actions

You're right

but I’d rather him sit than Okur score 50 on us

by Torukine on Mar 1, 2009 7:02 PM PST up reply actions

no

too many fouls on ab/turiaf – probably keep him as a 5 in case we need it.
