Enough of this drama, lets look to next season!

So ok I'm pretty tired of seeing all of these drama for your mama posts. I know the teams in a pinch right now but come on guys they are obviously trying their best to fix this team for next season. They are through with this season - Nelly, Rowell, Cohan, GSOM, we all can't wait for next season. So lets look on the bright side on what is happening now.

The young guys are getting more play time; something that all or most of us wanted ever since December. We are tanking... no matter how you look at it, its happening. We may get a future star in the making - and all this talk about getting a true PG and what not I really hope we get Stephen Curry. It's ok if he's the same size as Monta, he's going to be crazy in the NBA when he actually plays with guys that have talent like him. #1 scorer in the country and has greatly improved his passing game.

The youngins getting playing time is really going to help us for next season and it's also going to help with determining who we are trading/cutting. Think of the Blazers.

So lets look at the lineup that I would like to see and please it may be controversial but no matter how you look at it, these are the guys that are the best and have contracts with the dubs for at least 3 years. Oh and you know Crawdaddy is out already so lets trade him for a CENTER!! YES A CENTER!  since there are no centers with our draft position and we only have 1 TRUE center.

PG: Monta

SG:Jackson

SF:Buike

PF:Turiaf

C:Biedrins

6th:Maggs

This lineup would fix all of our height problems / rebounding problems / defensive problems...or at least greatly improve it, it would also hopefully make our team flow alot better. I only say flow better because these guys have TREMENDOUSLY improved their passing game this season and know we need to pass to win games and rebound the damn ball. Yes I know Nellies style is we need at least 4 guys that can shoot 3's and spread the floor... but really? Look at the Celtics ; they only have Pierce and Allen that can shoot the 3ball. Rondo, KG, Perkins cannot shoot a 3 at all. Really the only problem here on defense would be Monta but so what we have the brick wall in the back and once he blocks the sh*t outta someone we can finally get that one man fast break going again. And while Turiaf is in the air we have Biedrins there to block out and rebound that ball or Buike fly high and put his 30 inch arm on a not so lucky opponent and snatch it down.

SOOO..... what do you guys think? Ready for next season yet? "We Are Ready!"

ps. sorry for the long post, I missed class already so I needed to do something that I'm interested in =)

i think devin harris is a good defender too

a more defensive minded pg. in other words a pg, that actually cares about defense. the warriors perfect fit would be a pg who can run the break, play good defense, and isn't going to hoist up stupid shots.

rubio fits the bill…rondo is a perfect example. eric snow is another, but he’s retired…other example is earl watson. we don’t need a superstar pg, just one that can do those couple things on the court…

but rubio has the superstar potential and he does those things…from what ive heard…

id rather

trade maggette + watson for a solid PF and have crawford opt out and maybe use that money towards the PF

1: ellis – belli
2: jackson – buki/morrow
3: randolph – buki/jackson
4: solid PF – buki/wright/turiaf
5: andris – turiaf

This lineup would fix all of our height problems / rebounding problems / defensive problems.

But add to our ball handling problems, Montay will throw it away, Jax will eat it, Kabuki will buff it, Rony will pop it and Dris will not recognize it. We need a real point guard instead of a two guard poser and we need a strong power forward with a real shot. Also wouldn’t hurt to have a true center and a more consistent 2 guard and maybe a small forward with more length?

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

by Skeptic con Urquell on Mar 10, 2009 9:00 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

now you know...

Nellie aint havin none of that! That’s way too normal for him. haha. I think Nellies dream lineup would be:

Mugsy Bogues – PG
Earl Boykins – SG
Spudd Webb – SF
Nate Robinson -PF
JJ Barea – Center

I bet Nellie pleasures himself to the thought of coaching this lineup. I think he likes having a small team so he can feel better about himself. He can feel bigger than everyone because he’s definitely fatter than everyone. haha

They can't stop me!!

he’s definitely fatter than everyone. haha

then maybe his team should be Marcus Williams, Charles Barkley, Zach Randolf, Tractor Taylor and ShaqDaddy?

Sounds like your ideal team, Skep!

All you’re missing is Wes Unseld, Oliver Miller, and latter day Shawn Kemp…

that sounds cool

but i think i’d rather have the point guard replaced with Glen “Big fat baby” Davis!!

Are you serious?

That lineup would win about 30 games, which is better than this season, but that doesnt really say much.
A backup center doesnt really solve our problems, a major upgrade in talent will. And its not going to be fixed in one off season, but hopefully in 3 or 4 season, where we can draft smart and let Randolph develop. Make some nice complimentary free agent signings.

But unfortunely the front office will see that we are getting close to the red, and will sign some over the hill guy(Jason Kidd?) that will give us a splash and help us win a few more games next season but will really cripple us for the future once again.

no matter what

that lineup is still going to be most realistic.

by bojangles408 on Mar 11, 2009 12:25 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

It was,

until we made a major trade and hit a ridiculuos hot streak to finish the season. We ended up finishing one game above 500 and barely made the 8th seed. I know for Cohan and Rowell standards, that 8th seed is like winning the championships, but seriously we were a tad above mediocre that year.

Not to belabor a point that has been made countless times on here, but the team that MADE the playoffs was way different from the team that was playing for the first half of that season. You can’t even talk about the ‘06-’07 Warriors as if it was one linear season. We had the Dunmurphy Gang, then came We Believe.

You guys really doubting Moped?

He is still the shiyte. He’ll be the same Monta we knew next season. You know he’ll work his ass off this summer. Hopefully he doesn’t go rollerskating or something this summer.

nah…he’s gonna get stung by a jellyfish at the beach and re injure his leg and the only cure to fix it would be for Nelson to piss on it.

JKidd

I have heard rumors that he could be had for the mid level exception. If we have a chance to scoop him up for that little, we’d be crazy not to. He’s a hometown (well, Alameda anyway, ugh) guy, he almost NEVER looks to shoot before passing, and he would be a great mentor for Monta to base the expansion of his game on. The only issue would be whether he is willing to come off the bench.
