Warrior Wonder Standings (February)

The Dubs finished 5-5 for the month of February, their best month of the season, and first month in which they finished at or above .500.  The Warriors accomplishments this month (coming soooo close to LA and San Antonio, beating Utah and Portland) were marred by the final week of the month in which they lost back to back games against the Clippers and Bobcats.  The Warriors appear to be tanking at this stage of the season, which is fine with me...at least it gives us a glimpse of who will be doing what next year, but it could further damage their 20-39 record.  This month saw a trend of non-Warriors making their way into the standings.

Star-divide

February Standings

Stephen Jackson 3 1/15

Ronny Turiaf 1 1/15

Anthony Randolph 1 1/15

Jamal Crawford 1 1/15

Jason Richardson 1

Baron Davis 1

Don Nelson 1

Kelenna Azubuike 1/15

Marco Bellinelli 1/15

Andris Biedrins 1/15

Jamareo Davidson 1/15

Monta Ellis 1/15

Rob Kurz 1/15

Corey Maggette 1/15

Anthony Morrow 1/15

CJ Watson 1/15

Marcus Williams 1/15

Brandan Wright 1/15

All the Warriors were happy to recieve a 1/15th Warrior Wonder thanks to R Dizzle. But none of the Warriors could match Stephen Jackson's production in the month of February as Stack Jack averaged 27.3 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in addition to shooting 47% from the field and 46% percent from 3pt range.  It was Jack who came up biggest in big wins against Utah and New York, as well as in a game the Warriors should have won vs. San Antonio.

is it just me

or does randolph remind anyone else of josh smith? the small forward postition was what most people thought he was going to be but really is just a weirdish 4, both have mediocre jumpers great blocks and huge dunks

Josh Smith

Josh is a 1in shorter and like 30 pounds heavier. I see him being more of a Lamar Odom which is what some people are comparing him too after the Lakers game. Odom has a jumper I think too.

Lamar Odom is also heavier

He’s definitely Josh Smith light right now… except with a little energizer bunny in him and longer arms. We’ll see how his game matures. If he could produce like either of those two any time soon, I’d be ecstatic.

I was checking some Hawks fan opinions after the Cleveland game last night, and it seems to be a popular ongoing discussion topic as to whether Josh Smith helps or hinders his team. It really shocked me since I always thought Smith was the big x-factor for them.

That's kinda the definition of "X factor", right?

You don’t know whether they’ll make an impact on the game. If they do they’ll win, if not they’ll lose. He definitely hinders them with his 3pt shooting. He definitely helps with his blocks/steals. I don’t get to see enough Hawks games to know if he’s overplaying for blocks/steals and giving up easy points Warriors style.

From what I gathered his perimeter defense is atrocious and he’s lazy. So aside from the highlights, he’s often a negative. Either way, the legend of Josh Smith sounds more potent than the man. Whatever- I’d still take him over Battier :)

Hey Marzorg

Love reading your standings and all. It’s pretty cool to see how the GSoM staff dishes these things out. But, I’ve been wondering….

Where does your name come from? It’s kinda odd that the last four letters of your name are the first four letters of mine. :-/ Not to mention, the first three, mar, are an abbreviation for March in some cultures, and my birthday is in march.

I’m sure it has a completely different meaning entirely though. Still, it is crazy to wonder!
