Allonzo Trier Is in the Game
New York Times' Michael Sokolove comes through with a lengthy profile of 5'5 6th grader, Allonzo Trier. Trier's ambitions for being the next Lebron James, as Sokolove highlights, shows the industrial profitization of youth basketball -- the trainers, the AAU teams, the endorsements. Are youth really to blame for all the heavy focus on basketball throughout their lives?
On another note, his game is buttery smooth and is probably infinitely more developed than half the Warriors on our current squad, namely our point guard of the future, Monta Ellis. The Allonzo Trier Movement for the 2015 draft!

that’s crazy. trier is what, 12 years old? he’s six years away from getting his high school degree and some scout honestly thinks he can declare him a sure-fire pro? i hope he honestly loves basketball, because if not, those 450 jumpers a day are going to wear on him before he can ever realize that potential.
heart of a champion, will of the warrior.

this is way too early to get all excited about some kid
not because his skills aren’t crazy, cuz they are…. but because a million things can happen between now and the next 6 years or so.
honestly, i’m a bit worried about all this attention getting to his head. i don’t know how he acts off the court, but on it he is at least a showboater. ok ok, i know he’s 12, but still, i think people (the media, and himself) need to be careful.
