Stakes is High: Monta Ellis

Ellis_gsom_medium

What's up everybody... don't mind me, I just wanted to draw! Anyways, minus the game against New Orleans, Monta Ellis has been putting up some ridiculous numbers. Scoring at least 26 points with 4.6 assists, 4.4 boards, 1.6 steals and 57% shooting from the field since his return from injury last week. The past few months I've read some very interesting fan posts and articles asking whether we should dump Monta or keep him. All have been great reads by the way! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but no doubt, I'm just glad he's back playing ball and putting up some exciting numbers! Brand new drawing completed on a Sunday afternoon!

Awesome

I love the halo/glowing effect around Ellis; the last few games he’s been lookin like a 66 milly savior.

Monta Ellis is now unaVOIDable

I take back saying we should dump him

That’s IF he doesn’t become a team cancer. So far, so good though.

We are doing Better

If Monta is on the floor. He dictate the tempo we got more fast break points.

by mykelala01 on Mar 24, 2009 12:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes indeed

I just hope this season turns out to be a blessing in disguise. All teams have injuries, but when you’re in non-contending mode like us, then a lot of players sit out. Hopefully we start out winning next year so we can really see what we have with a full healthy squad plus a lottery pick this year.

Hey Tony

I watched a Telecast where Fitz called Maggette five oh (Of course due to his #). Maybe you could do a drawing of him as a police officer or something rolling in a 5.0. haha

by Golden Boy on Mar 24, 2009 12:37 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Haha

That’s a good one. Maggette with gold chains in a cruiser with massive rims… that’d be hilarious. Except, you know, for all the recent sadness.

well monta is pretty much back at this point

but i feel people are evaluating him on a different level than before. many are basically saying: superstar or bust. i am guilty of holding him to high standards as well, he’s not a super-duper-star, but a very very good player.

by HoLdEmUP on Mar 24, 2009 12:45 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Too bad...

his assist:TO ratio is terrible. That’s pretty much his only weakness as a PG (aka the defining factor of whether you’re a good PG or not).

by FishStix on Mar 24, 2009 1:22 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

lol

give him time this season is lost. hopefully we’ll see a better ration soon…

monta’s turn over problems are very fixable if you ask me…has anyone else noticed that he’ll have 1 or 2 extremely lazy passes every game that otherwise would have been easy ones…that can definitely be fixed

Monta is back...

and he’s still not a point guard. Weird. It’s like we need a big, physical, pass-first PG capable of guarding 2s to play next to him. This sounds familiar.

Good thing we Crawford, who’s fragile, terrible at D, and can’t pass.

Yeah, make me wonder what all the hype is about. One season and we could see that but apparently our management hasn’t got it yet?

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

I made a "We Suck" shirt for The T-Wolves game on the 8th...

Maybe Management will get my message LOL!

I don't think "We Suck".....

is appropiate. are the players to blame for poor team decisions? perhaps a “Management Sucks” is more fitting.

Didn't think of that...

Thank goodness it was an Iron on I made… I just wanted to wear it for a good laugh… but than Im sure folks will misinterpret it…

Perhaps, “We Young” LOL

Well our team is young and whileMonta is considered a vet on this team

he is still only 23 years old so i think that when he’s back 100% next year after a summer of working and trainning camp that Monta may improve at being our PG and he has the potential to be a Tony Parker type guard but maybe better

by GSW9 on Mar 24, 2009 4:42 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

monta

What is the logic in paying millions of dollars on someone who can’t guard shooting guards in the western conference, and can’t run the point like paul, nash or williams. The warriors talent evaluation process has a legacy of stupidity. Draft JB Carrol, trade Arenas, B King, and Webber. If the fans continue to support a weak product, why should the warrior brass improve it. Long live failure.
