"Warriors are winning? They should be in the playoffs."
-My Dad
(last game vs. the Jazz)I laughed but then I highly agreed with my dad. I would have rather seen a Bay vs. LA series. It would have been a way more exciting playoff series and we would have lost in Game 7.
Yup I said it. 7 games and a daggering loss.
Hello GSoM?
Someone wake me up after the Jazz get swept by the Lakes in the playoffs. Thanks.

I still think we'd be a playoff team if we stayed healthy.
Maybe I can put a lot of blame on Monta for hurting himself on the mo-ped. Say this team was healthy for the season, we probably would have had a rough start learning to play without Baron, but then we would have probably found some inner swag and burst into the Playoffs.
I don’t know if other NBA fans would prefer to see Golden State in the 8th seed instead of the Jazz, though. It would be fun seeing our fast paced offense in the Playoffs again, along with the crazy crowd and the celebrity fans (actually, there probably wouldn’t be any more celebrity Warrior fans since Baron is gone now). It was so surreal seeing those post game conferences in the Playoffs in 07, I was like “wow, i’m really witnessing the Warriors in the Playoffs”.
I think the Warriors could put up a good fight against the Lakers. We have a lot of depth, and in the Playoffs our home crowd just seems to bring some new life in our players to make them play crazy. It would probably end in 5 games. We lose the first two @ LA, come to Oracle and pull off two crazy wins in Oakland, and then go back to LA and lose again.
But honestly, I think a healthy Warriors team would be 5-7th seed right now. All they really needed for that to have happened was to build up some momentum to really get them going and see how good they really are.

ignoring a significant time element
the team would not have played at its current level back in the start of the season, probably not for the entire first half of the season, because of the huge portion of the roster either new to the team or completely green. Morrow and Randolph, Watson too and Azubuike to a degree, all needed the whole season to play through and learn. Watson became much better at decision making, and had to learn the hard way with lots of minutes made possible by ellis’ absence. In other words, you can’t keep your cake (players at present proficiency) and eat it too (pretending the tough season was not an essential part of the process).

Yeah I know
That’s why I said that we would most likely have a rough start to the season. But with all the scorers we have on the team, the Warriors probably could have done good, it’s just a matter of if they would have good chemistry and mesh with each other to play at a high level.
I know what you mean, though. Our bench would have been too inexperienced since we’re the youngest team in the league. Basically our only experienced players are our starters, and Nellie would have most likely been too scared to play the young guys because they might suck and cost us a bunch of games.

chemistry crucial with the new mix of players
and I consider ellis and m’gette somewhere between neutral (pos and neg cancel) or mildly negative. Their absence helped that remnant squad really gel, with Turiaf becoming the leader. Players who slack on d (ellis more than m’gette) are destructive to cohesiveness, added to their default mind set of reluctance to share the ball, or see open teammates, on the offensive end. If those two are healthy that’s conservatively 30-35% of all available playing time.

just cigarettes with a side of lots of liquor.
Maybe those cigarettes do have some wacky tobacky in them and I just have a bad sense of smell.
jk. On the real tip, my Dad laughs when our team sucks and when we lose badly, but overall he still finds them entertaining to watch.
With that being said, I think that’s why he made that comment that we should be in the playoffs and probably thinks we are a team that isn’t as bad as our “statistical” record labels us.
I’m glad he favors the Dubs over any team and I’m forever cool with that.
Go Dad!

Yup, for the 2nd year in a row
We would have definitely put up a way tougher fight then the Nuggets did last year. And Utah will probably take the Lakers to 5 at the most, if not a sweep.
