Thoughts on the future...
... and on my genius.
i know all of you have sorely missed my provocative and entertaining commentary lo these past many weeks. well, as alluded to a while ago, i finally received my bailout money for the failed bank i established last year in my basement. i only got $2.3 million, but, hey, i only loaned out $671.98 while the bank was operational, so i made out quite well. i have been busy putting together my travel itinerary for the next 4 months so i can enjoy my hard-earned funds.
during these last few weeks, i realized that so many of you revel in post-game analysis and statistics, but cannot PREDICT the outcome of the events you so passionately discourse--and THAT is the real sign of understanding. you remind me of all the tv 'analysts' who endlessly discuss games, but are so often wrong in their predictions of the winners. witness mike ditka, who actually said a couple of hours before the superbowl that the broncos would beat the niners, or bob knight, who last year had NO teams in his final four, and only one in his final eight. why? because, much like you, they know the GAME, but NOT the sport.
i, however, know both. many of you know that i despise the fat, lying, drunken, blackmailing scumbag who runs the atrocity known as nellie-ball, but i also realize his capabilities as well as his deficiencies. that is why i won a bundle wagering on the w's against the mavs in the 07 playoffs, then realized that a superior coach like sloan would not fall into the trap that johnson did, so i parlayed all of the money on the jazz. even this year i have mad a significant income wagering both for, and--far more often--against the w's.
i have also made long-term predicitons on THIS site--let us review: w's win 30 games-CORRECT (29 is close enough); knicks win more games than the d'antoni-lite-lead w's-CORRECT; the bobcats with a real coach named brown also win more than the w's-CORRECT (and do not believe the lies that the west is superior to the east, as the top 3 and the bottom 6 teams in the east are better than their western counterparts and 4 of the 5 worst teams are in the west; only in the 4-9 slots does the west have the advantage, and that only slightly); and lastly, that the w's would pad their record with meaningless wins in april-CORRECT.
on the 'brighter' side, for those of you concerned about the w's next season, my prediction is that they win 38-42 games (i will have a specific number for you in november), do not make the playoffs, and do not land a big-name free agent (with the possible exception of kidd). nellie, satisfied with having passed wilkins for the most wins (and the ONLY reason he returned to coaching), will 'resign'. he will then return to hawaii, and in 2013 his body will be found after having washed up on shore like a fat, white, beached whale--cause of death "extreme alcohol poisoning".
concerning the upcoming playoffs i predict: lakers do NOT win the title; rockets again fail to get out of the 1st rd; blazers make it to the conf finals; magic WIN IT ALL (in 2010).
outside of bball, the marlins will win the world series this year, and by 2012 miley cyrus and her vomit-inducing hillbilly voice (aka screech-a-billy) will have been forgotten, her tv show having ended in 2010, and disney left with a skinny, flat-chested, no-talent never-was.
as for me, i will rejoin you in november. today i am in hawaii to greet nellie at the airport. after that, i will be traveling and finishing up my book. it is titled "peckers and poledancers: my 20-year odyssey thru the strip clubs of america" hasta la bagass.

"I, however, know both"
Congratulations. Are you going to write a book?
Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, or John Wall. A Warrior in 09.
With the 6th Pick in the 2009 MLB Draft, the SF Giants pick Donovan Tate.
Andre Smith in Silver & Black in 2009.
I honestly can't tellI
If this is all sarcasm mixed in with satire or just a bunch of hooey… Care to clarify that for me?
You gotta hate someone like this guy...
Because he’s absolutely right
"We Deserve"
Easily...
Your most entertaining post ever. Way to end the year with a bang. Do you really have to come back in November though?
Thing 2
Uh no, he is not very entertaining. True or no.
If he’s really gone for the next five months……. Thank goodness.

Way to go out on a limb
Your playoff predictions are so clear. You predicted the Magic to win next season’s Finals, which makes so much sense for predicting this year’s. You failed to even pick a particular team, giving you a 15 out of 16 chance of being correct because you only said the Lakers wouldn’t. You said the Rockets, who are the 2nd biggest playoff choke artists in the league after the Lakers, will lose in the first round for something like the 10th time in a row. And you said Portland will win one difficult series (they should breeze through said choke artist Houston, and have a puncher’s chance against the Lakers). Way to go. And for the record, I’m still picking the Lakers to win the West. Just don’t think the Blazers are ready yet, but probably next year they will be. But that series WILL go seven games. And with KG out in Boston, I think Cleveland gets through the East and that they lose to the Lakers in 5 (split the games in Cleveland, Lakers sweep home games in the 2-3-2 finals format).
Hey...
You know that the Lakers have their own SBnation site now right? I noticed that so far you’ve only posted on GSoM. Here check it out: Silver Screen and Roll

Thanks for the heads up
But I like you guys more. Warrior fans are the best in the league, bar none. I just wish you guys had a team that was consistently worthy of your support. A lot (though not all) of the Laker fans on blogs are just frontrunners that weren’t around till last February, I’ll be the first to say it. As a lifelong supporter of the team, those people disgust me. Which is why I stand by my comments about Warrior fans. I know you feel me right?
LakerFan, you’re starting to win me over. You’d score major points if you could at least take the 24 off the end of your name.
Thing A
ha
I never looked at it hat way…….but I honestly can’t say I like Rick Barry all that much more than Kobe, so….
Thing A
Haha
Yeah, that’s true. I wish I got to watch him play so I’d have something to remember him by besides his jerky attitude on KNBR.

Is Bynum gonna be healthy for the playoffs? If not I doubt the Lakers will have the strength to beat Cleveland. I’d like to see some Western team win it all though.

I must be crazy......
But I loved watching this group of players even when loosing…….give em a healthy —2 years from now—-Ty Lawson at point——somehow add a Carlos Boozer Banger and watch out folks!

I wish I had that one minute of my life back
stupid post. pretentious. lame.
Anyway, Lakerfan24….I automatically did not want to like you due to your name, but I give you mad props for keepin it real and callin out the bandwagoners down in LA LA land. I dont see anyway the Lakers dont make it to the finals this year. .Bynum is good to go and even though lake show struggled a bit towards the end of the season, something tells me they get their stuff together for the playoffs.
Here’s hopin the Dubs make some solid moves this offseason. No need to focus on Bosh or Boozer, lets get solid defender/contributer like Artest or Odom. Kidd’s an interesting thought, but I wouldnt want to give him too much money or too many years. We can always draft a contributing point guard or make a play for someone like Felton, who would be absolute money on this team. Lets not forget about making a play for someone like Villanueva. Money
Next season: Healthy=playoffs
