The B.S. Report: 4/14 Part 1
I was listening to the Bill Simmons podcast and at about the 30 minute mark to my surprise the Dubs came up. Ric Bucher was on the podcast and they were all talking about season ticket renewals and how teams weren't hitting their marks. Then Buch chimes in and basically blames the fans for the warriors being bad. Take a listen and let me know what you think. Personally i think we have to take a look in the mirror and really give some credence to what Buch says but I'll leave that up to you.

Couldn't find it, and I listened to almost the whole podcast (jumping around).
Can you be more exact about the minute marker? This is a lot of BS to wade through.
it was somewhere toward the end. i can’t remember exactly where, but it was just tossed in near the end of the podcast. it starts when buc says “you know whose fans i’ve totally changed my opinion about?” or something like that, then he goes on to really quickly and unfairly bash the team.
heart of a champion, will of the warrior.
i thought it was sort of unfair. they went off about how the warriors were a terrible go-nowhere team, which seems a little off to me. a core of monta, biedrins and randolph seems like a solid starting point and if we pick up an extra piece, there should be some optimism for big steps forward next year. we never saw this team healthy and when even a fair percentage of the team was able to play, they looked pretty good. so, it’s almost certain that this team will be considerably better next year and should compete for a playoff spot if they can stay even marginally healthy.
it isn’t being a stupid fan to want to support this franchise right now. it’s being a crappy analyst to look at the warriors’ record this year and assume that no one should be happy with the team. but then again, maybe i’m an just an idiot for thinking that this team should suck less if they have a healthy lineup.

Sorry Nuck...
Srry bout that Nuck, they bring up the subject at the 31 min mark in part 1 of the pdocast. It starts out with Bill beginning to talk about how season tix renewals are not at 50 %…hope that helps
To suggest that is absurd.
Complacency among owners is a league-wide problem that only David Stern can do something about.
good points guys...
I didn’t like how he suggested that we are now bad fans. I just think that he is including the other 12 years of mediocrity and lumping that all together with this season. Like Hack said we do have some good building blocks and can possibly turn it around with some good moves. I just don’t know if I believe enough in the FO to make those moves. Plus Buch doesnt take into account the fire sale of family packs and $8 tix this season which have definitely bumped the attendance figures.
Plus if completely healthy,
I just think that the dubs, if they carry almost the same roster over for next season, we barely touch 40 wins. Obviously that changes if we get a draft pick of FA that can completely change our team. I think what Buch says kinda of touches on some of the most recent posts like “C’mon Warriors Fans” where people are almost too ready to be overly opptimistic about the team and too RA, RA for me. I would rather temper my enthusiasm and have a wait and see attitude until the FO proves to me that they can make some good decisions with Mully on the way out.
i actually listened to them
what a bunch of idiots they are. so warrior fans cheering our teams future hof player regardless of our record makes fans responsible for stupidity of front office signing maggete and trading for crawford, for giving jackson ridiculous extension, for not signing baron? really?? people showing up and giving so much confidence to our rookies, inspired them to play some of the most awesome basketball I’ve seen, bunch of no-names killing Utah, the powerhouse of the west. 7 players almost winning against phoenix.
all these espn announcers are just a doormat for nba marketing machine anyway. they don’t criticize nba, where stars get obvious preferential treatment going 30 times a game to ft, while obvious fouls on rookies go unnoticed.
there is another thread about jason thompson vs ar. jason is a solid pf, one of the best already, but refs were calling such crap on him all season. even in the game with dubs he was called for crap touch fouls. none of the stars get called for that, because refs aware that if star gets in foul trouble 4-5 in a row, the ticket sales get affected, marketing gets affected etc. everyone knows that, but dumbass espn would never bring that up.
instead they come up with retarded points like fans are responsible for bad season of the franchise.
oh and one more thing: were the fans responsible for warriors winning playoffs in the first round too? or was that players work and front office getting the trade for jack and harrington, getting rid of dunmurphy ? was it ok for fans to cheer warriors at the beginning of that season when dunmurphy was still here although we knew that mix was not getting us to playoffs?
espn stands for brainwasher filled with idiots.

Ric Bucher can suck my ****
Two years ago in the playoffs they (ESPN, TNT, etc.) were saying that GS Warrior fans were the best in the league. Now there blaming the fans for the teams failures. In the interview Ric Bucher said, “The fans are the reason why this team stinks because, they have accepted being stinky.” What is so wrong about cheering for the team? In the interview Ric Bucher was making it sound like it was wrong to cheer for Anthony Randolph after he got a block and then a dunk at the other end, all because the Warriors aren’t that good of a team. So does that means its ok to cheer for Lebron or Kobe when they get a dunk just because their teams are good. The fans want this team to be successful, we don’t like being one of the worst teams in the NBA.
If you want a success story just take a look at mine.
...
There is some truth in what he said, but I still think that he does not understand that we go to watch FUN/EXCITING basketball (not that boring Rockets crap)
Ellis to the RIM!
Monta for the win?! YES!
