Say it ain’t so! This is really really really bad news. Even if we get Bosh, he’ll be gone in 2010 when his contract is over.

WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

by JustSomeName on May 14, 2009 3:41 PM PDT reply actions

Dumb move if that goes down...

What would be the point of even making that trade? It should be an either or trade but not both. For a 1 year RFA guy, that would end up decimating the team more than helping it because of the loss of both of those guys. Plus we end up back at square one and on the rebuild again…HOY-VEY…Here we go again…

by UCdubsFan on May 14, 2009 3:42 PM PDT reply actions

Also don't trade AR....

Seriously what is the deal with even thinking about throwing him into any deal. Deal BW or anyone else before AR. Just like that writer said this could turn into CWEBB part 2. If that is the case, you know I don’t even want to think about it…

The inane ramblings of Kawakami strike again

That Dimemag post is nothing more than a rehash of Kawakami’s likely unfounded speculative blog post. Move along, nothing to see here.

Thanks, ffg

For being a voice of sanity. The “substance” in that pile of tripe boils down to this:

Word out of Golden State is that…

As far as “journalism” goes, it doesn’t get much more pathetic than that.

Oh wait, it does:

The only thing that would make Don Nelson happier than telling Jamal Crawford to pack his bags is to get Randolph on the next plane out of town.

and

Supposedly, Nellie isn’t all that fond of Biedrins

gswfan: seriously, try not to encourage jackasses like this by linking to their articles and presenting their ideas as fact.

And thank you Sleepy for your cliff notes to this crap.

The only reason I gave reading this a chance is because I thought it would be funny. But then I realized how many people would run with it like it was the spoken word of God, and suddenly my head started to hurt.

by VERY VERY BUSY on May 15, 2009 10:46 AM PDT up reply actions

Journalists seem to be slow on the take

with issues regarding Randolph and his attitude. In my opinion that was cleared up by mid-season. Almost all of the articles by non-local writers I have read that mention AR seem to believe that he is still in Nellie’s dog house, and I can’t see that being the case.

by Goldenstarter on May 15, 2009 10:51 AM PDT up reply actions

hmmmm

i dont know if i favor this,

but trying to understand.

AB is a good center but not elite. He’s shown no ability to shoot of ever learn to. His defense is ok, not great but not awful. Ultimately its hard to really project him as more than a 10-12 ppg, 10 rpg guy. Not bad at all, but at his salary a bit of an overpay. Then again not nearly as bad as maggette or crawford contractually, but if you think AB wont really improve much from now, then y not use him as valuable trade bate before his value goes down.

AR has a lot of potential but thats all it is, POTENTIAL. CB4 is an all star PF. And a young one at that entering his prime soon. Teamed with monta who is 23, the theory would be both would reach there prime at same age giving you a potential all-star inside outside combo. Add the variety of swings the team is definitely immediately a playoff contener.

the downside is what if AB does continue developing and u traded a potential superstar in AR. Realistically We arent going to see best of AR for 4-5 years atleast. LEts look at the biggest freak/superstar in the nba, Lebron James. Lebron is 24, 5 years older than AR and the came into league much more developed. Not saying AR will ever reach lebron level, but just in terms of developement year to year I dont think AR will be a real impact player for a couple more years and if he really does have a superstar inside him, probably a couple years ontop of that. Someone posted CWEBB Part 2. Cwebb averaged 18 and 9 as a rookie along with his passing skills. He was years ahead of AR in developement and was an allstar off the bat. AR is not anywhere near that.
Now if you’re willing to wait in process we’ll likely pick up some more lottery picks and asuming riley doesnt ressurect ghost of warriors draft past (Adonal and fuller over tmac and kobe.. D’OH) we could pick up even more talent for down the road.

But how willing are warriors fans to wait. Havent we waited long enough?! It sounds great to draft derozan and think about what AR + derozan + monta or whatever will be in 5 years, but who really wants to buy tickets for next 5 years ‘waiting’ Its a fair point. I dont know how i feel.

But lets say we do do this trade. Even w/ AR and AB we’d prolly still have to throw in belinelli at the least.

without figiruing out a trade for crawford (probably for a backup big….)

we’d walk into 2009-2010 with
monta
jack
buike
bosh
turiaf

bench: MAggette, bwright, morrow, cj(?) and a backup big…..

that team is playoff caliber

by tafkasam on May 14, 2009 4:40 PM PDT reply actions

that team is playoff caliber

I strongly disagree. With health that team contends for the 8th seed, but there’s not much hope/flexibility to get any better. I’d rather go into next year with our current roster. The only way I’d even begin to think about a Bosh trade that included 2 of Biedrins, Monta and Randolph is if we were certain we could deal Crawford for someone like Dalembert.

Thing A

by sam23 on May 14, 2009 11:53 PM PDT up reply actions

i disagree...

cwebb was older than randolph when he entered the league…that is atleast a reason why he’s was ahead his rookie year…

i’m not saying randolph will ever be as good as webber, but they’re not as far apart as you propose…randolph is already a better rebounder than webber…

he has things to work on, like an outside shot, ball handling and strenght…but again, he’s only 19…

Knowing the Warriors

They will do any trade not because it helps the team but it helps them sell tickets and getting although getting Bosh is an addition by subtraction, it would sell more tickets.

if they can resign him in 2010 im all for it

cause randolph aint going to be no better then bosh is right now and they trying to get rid of crawford. and personally beidrens’ stats are kind of inflated playing the run and gun nellieball

by Belinelli's the savior on May 14, 2009 7:49 PM PDT reply actions

+1

thats a HUGE IF

but if possible, its really hard to not see it working for warriors. At worst itll be even if randolph turns into an all star. But that wont happen for 3-4 seasons at first. And its just an IF. How many years have we warriors fans hung our hat on ‘in 2 years this guy will be an all star’ ‘look at his althetism, hit shot, etc’ billy owens? jamison? in more recent times jrich? pietrus? point being theres no garentee randolph will be a star. Bosh is a star, and at 25 will improve the subtleties of his game.

but i really doubt bosh will sign an extension before we make trade so its all moot

by tafkasam on May 14, 2009 8:09 PM PDT up reply actions

Rock Smokin'

Thats what this is. Randolp, and Biedrins for Bosh.

No thank you, lets try another deal

by meximocha on May 14, 2009 10:10 PM PDT reply actions

Bosh extension would be a given

There is no team in the league that would give up talent for Bosh without him agreeing to signing a contract extension. Not even the Warriors front office is that stupid.

In essence, Bosh gets to choose where he gets traded. If it’s not a team he wants to be traded to, he’ll just say he won’t sign an extension and that’ll be the that.

It’s highly unlikely that he picks the Warriors. Better teams in the league will be able to offer similar trade packages to the Raptors, and better remaining supporting casts for Bosh when he arrives there. Chances are very slim that he wants to be traded to a talent-depleted, dysfunctional franchise that only won 29 wins last season.

Chris Bosh in a Dubs uniform is nothing but a pipe dream.

I almost pray this isn't true

I think Randolph will be a Garnett type of a talent.

by Golden Boy on May 15, 2009 12:24 AM PDT reply actions

my prediction is bosh eventually goes to the knicks.whether its this summer or the next

the knicks aren’t going to get lebron, and the dumped a ton of capspace so they’ll probably settle for bosh

Phew...

Glad this is a TK thing, now I know it’s a load of bull.

There's a party in my mind.
And I wish that I was there.

Yeah

don’t believe anything Tim Kawakami writes about the Warriors or trade rumors.

If you want a success story just take a look at mine.

by LighTz707OuT on May 15, 2009 8:06 AM PDT up reply actions

Let's be honest.

I’m not going to give TK any clicks by validating this claim, but… I think DM is using old news and ne news to create new buzz.

They only reference TK at the end, and only talk about his comments on Larry Riley as evidence that “nobody knows WTF is happening in the Warriors FO.” They don’t reference anything he said about AB&AR for CB (likely because there’s nothing to their claim). We all know there was some “Biedrins & Randolph for Bosh” talk in November/December, but any recently? I don’t recall any. Thus, new news (TK talking about Larry Riley) and old news (Warriors were interested in AB+AR=CB in December) combine to create new buzz (Larry Riley is interested in AB+AR=CB!!!) that is completely made up.

Hurray!!!!

My favorite part
Kawakami suggests some potential deals, but later appeared to realize that they would be impossible according to the rules of the CBA.

This guy sounds pretty credible

or not.
not only is he just regurgitating TK speculation. I really liked this part

Riley wasn’t hired by Nellie, though he could very well be executing Don’s orders. He was hand-picked by GSW owner Robert Rowell

followed by this

Across the country, people knew the names and positions of everyone in the Knicks front office back during the Isiah fiasco. It’s the same in Golden State right now.

hmm i guess everybody but the guy “writing” the article

by azw on May 15, 2009 1:15 PM PDT reply actions

at what price?

we could send crawford, watson and kurz to the raptors at the most. Would they accept?
