What the Warriors should do in the offseason
The Warriors have a great young foundation to build around. The best thing to do is to keep the guys that have great potential, get rid of the guys that are not needed, get the guys that are needed, but to not risk the future for immediate results. First of all, we need to keep Randolph and Ellis no matter what offer comes our way. Don't go after Chris Bosh just so we can have an all star for one year. Ellis has some great scoring ability and has the potential to average 25 points a game and Randolph has a huge amount of potential and an unlimited ceiling. So why would we trade a guy who finished his season super strong by 25-4-4 and he's only 23, or a guy who came on great at the end of the season to finish as a 15 and 10 guy as a starter and he's only 19. Let's make our own all stars and build a team that can win now and in the future. Guys that are expendable that could bring in some good pieces would be Maggette, Wright, and Belinelli. Let's also try and make Crawford either opt out or get traded. What we should do is to take that trade offer of Baron for Corey Maggette, if the Clippers get Ricky Rubio. The reason Baron had an off year was because he was on a team that played a half-court style, they had no other veteran leadership, and he doesn't get along with Mike Dunleavy Sr. Then we should see what we can get for Wright and Belinelli. Maybe trade one of them to the Pistons, who will most likely be in a rebuilding mode, for a defensive energy guy like Jason Maxiell or maybe even trade both for a guy like Tayshaun Prince, who could be our 6th man and help our perimeter defense and maybe even play some PF when we go small. If that weren't to happen then maybe we could trade them seperately for some mid to late first round picks if possible, since this is a weaker draft year. With our draft picks we could get a point guard for the future, maybe a small forward for the future, and maybe a solid back up big man who can play good defense. These are just some ideas that I thought would improve the team.
Warriors Realistically Ideal 2009-2010 Starting Lineup: PG- Baron Davis, SG- Monta Ellis, SF- Stephen Jackson, PF- Anthony Randolph, C- Andris Biedrins
Let me know what you think.

Fire Rowell.... if not then it will look like this:
Market the isht out of their family package.
Trade for a non-franchise player (bosh has the stats but not the winning mindset of a leader so he’s perfect since he wouldn’t have the demeanor that demands winning from the front office to the coaching staff). Also make sure this player signs without an extension so that they can walk off in a year and be a great scapegoat.
If the trade doesn’t go through then pull a knee-jerk reaction in this terrible FA. Overpay a veteran role player (that should be on the bench) to mess with the playing time of young players.
Go nowhere near the salary cap. Save that space to exhibit d-league all stars to other teams. Then cut him (or her) and get another d-league player to eat up more minutes (bonuses at the end of the season!)
Buy expensive things with the expired MLE (bonuses for all the execs!).
Visit Maui to check Don’s liver and make sure everyone is still friends.
Draft from that location.
Tryout a bunch of scrubs to trade down in the draft (could they be more obvious with their intent?).
Find a worse concessions provider than the one that already facilitates Oracle (cheaper too).
Plan injuries and player development story lines in case the season is a bust.
Send Dr. Dan Fegan a fruit basket for being the catalyst in take II of “Harrington wants out” (different players, different position, same story/problem only JC is more likeable/professional). Quick note: Harrington should have been Marburied.
Only decrease season ticket prices for areas that didn’t sell last year and try to market it as a discount to renewing (or not renewing) season ticket holders.
Wage the media war with TK and ALL of the other Bay Area reporters (except Janny “I get the best interviews because I sacrifice my journalistic integrity” Hu).
Did I miss anything?

What star?
Let’s assume, for the moment, that we had the money to offer a max contract to the big guys who will be FAs after next year.
We could make LeBron a max offer. We could make Wade a max offer. We could make Paul a max offer. etc etc.
The question is: why do they join the Warriors?
You could make an argument that we have some pretty good pieces. Paul would probably like to play with Beidrins and Randolph, for example, as would Lebron. Jackson is a valuable contributor on a team with a star. So you could actually imagine that we have a pretty solid team that might attract a superstar, since that’s the main piece we’re really missing.
But here’s the problem. Let’s say you trade some of those pieces to get Bosh, and Bosh walks. All of a sudden, we don’t have a team that can attract a superstar. Maybe we can overpay a Rashard Lewis, which solves none of our problems. But if you remove our bigs, there’s a zero percent chance of a superstar choosing to come to the Warriors.

Is Monta really an untradeable player?
Don’t get me wrong, I like Monta. The scooter incident aside (and, whatever, he’s a kid, kids make dumb mistakes like that, so I can forgive him).
But Monta presents a real problem for any team that wants to play him:
He can’t play defense against two-guards, and he doesn’t have point-guard skills.
Now, if he develops PG skills, then all bets are off. But basically, it seems like Monta needs to be on a team with a bigger player who the ball runs through. eg, he’d work well on a team with Kobe or Lebron (but then again, who wouldn’t).
Monta is a great offensive player. Sadly, that’s only half the game. I don’t want to write the kid off, but he holes in his game are big enough that it doesn’t make sense to talk about him as untradeable. Quite frankly, he might be one of the few pieces of value we could move and get equal return on.

Quite frankly, he (Monta) might be one of the few pieces of value we could move and get equal return on.
thinking about it, it’s actually pretty difficult to think of a realistic trading partner that would give up “equal return” for Monta at his price.

What I think the W's should do...
The first thing I would do is trade the glut of SG/SF we have. I would trade Maggette for Kiralenko. Here is my rationale. As much as alot of people think we need a rebounder defender in the guise of Blake Griffith, the truth is that is not Nellie’s style of PF. Like the story of the scorpion and the turtle, it is not Nellie’s nature. He will always go small ball mismatch over rugged defender, shot blocker. Griffin would just rott on the bench and grow diheartened. Kiralenko provides that SF/PF athlete that Nellie likes. Kiralenko has expressed in the past that he wants out and I think salaries match up. Next I trade Crawford for a first rounder. With the picks I pick up two difference makers, Brandon Jennings and with the second Patrick Mills. With the speed and ball distribution skills between them at PG, SG would be Ellis, Azubuike and Bellineli, SF Jackson, Morrow and Kiralenko, PF Randolph and Wright, C Biedrins and Turiaf. That is a pretty dominating line up assumming Wright and Randolph continue to develop and gain weight..

baron vs maggette
as rough a start maggs had with the W’s, he’s more valuable to the team than BD is…for next year.
baron doesn’t have the legs to the 3 above 30% anymore, so he’s strictly a penetrator and turnaround jumper guy, with great court vision – and INJURIES. He sucked in LA BEFORE it was obvious the Clips were done for the year.
Baron at mid-level exemption is a steal – at 15 mill/yr he’s a bust. even 10M/yr he’s a bust.
keep maggs and his FG% and 10 FT/game. Get a big PG – hello JASON KIDD!!!!!!
KIDD would bring everything the W’s need to not only get them into the playoffs, but get them to or beyond the 2nd round. Defense (can guard the 2), court vision, leadership. AND he doesn’t take crap shot just to make sure he get his average.
KIDD is the answer. Question is what will it take to get him.

DUBALLERS23- FIXING YOUR ERRORS- WARRIORS FOR LIFE
First of all, the warriors will not and cannot trade Ellis for Bosh. The money needs to add up on both sides. Something you should of learned in college. If the warriors traded for bosh, he would have to agree on a contract extension before anything gets done. Second, the warriors stated that they will not trade Ellis.
As for getting a player like Maxwell, he is part of the future of the Pistons. He is one of the young, up and coming stars for the team. Prince has always been a rumor for the Warriors but do you really think he will be going anywhere. I would love to have Baron Davis back on the Dubs but after another injured season, the warriors front crappy office proved their point on why they did not want to sign Davis to a new contract. Hoping to dealing Crawford and Maggette….I would love to trade them two for AK-47 as he can bring the defense presence that we need off the bench and can be our perfect 6th man that thinks team first.
