Jamal Crawford is a Warrior Next Season
Whether you guys (or Don Nelson) like it or not, Jamal Crawford is going to be a Warrior next year. Here's why, Jamal is not going to opt out of his contract. There is no way he's walking away from 2 years at about 20 million dollars, NO WAY. If he does opt out, there is no way he's even going to sniff that kind of money elsewhere. If he does, he's an idiot and as we know Jamal seems like he has a pretty good head on his shoulders.
So, Jamal doesn't opt out. Now what? The Warriors can try to trade him. Yes, but what team is going to want him (especially his contract). What can we get back in return? I can't see us getting back anything in return other than maybe a second round draft pick and a disposable player like a Ricky Davis (just a random example). I don't think the Warriors are going to pull the trigger on something like that, because let's face it Jamal Crawford can play; he is a very talented kid. We a re not going to trade him for absolutely nothing. So that means we're stuck with him. If Larry Riley can pull something good off I'd be happy, but I can't see that happening.
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

You pretty much said what was pretty obvious to mostly everyone
haha
Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, or John Wall. A Warrior in 09.
With the 6th Pick in the 2009 MLB Draft, the SF Giants pick Donovan Tate.
Andre Smith in Silver & Black in 2009.
+1
i dont hate him as much as the rest of GSOM but it would be nice to free up time for a draft pick. not gonna happen though…
he’s got skills he just doesn’t use them

i would love to keep jamal..
only if he would play some defense!!
or at least
Drive to the basket more and less jump shots/3pt shots. Jamal needs to adapt to our offense, which allows people to cut to the basket (due to the 3 pt/mid range jumper threat we pose). Baron was very good at that, and jamal needs to do the same.
I do hope that summer camp will see him adjust.
I agree with that
That’s what I don’t like about him. I love having him on the team, but you said it. He has the capability to drive and score on almost anyone, but yet he setttles for the outside j. Oh well it’s not like we can tell him what to do.
Step 1. Tell Crawford to opt out of his remaining 2 years and $19mil because..
Step 2. Immediately re-sign him to a 1 year, $19mil contract.
Step 3. Trade his expiring contract at the trade deadline for a good player or…
Step 4. Let his contract expire at the end of the season.
Voila, that’s how you get rid of Jamal Crawford.
"We Deserve"
if they stephon him
nobody will ever sign a free agent deal with the warriors again…
LeBron James? I'm the only Ty Crane.

jamal or maggette must go
and ideally both. not cause either are ‘bad’. But because you cannot have a winning team in this league with 4 swing players taking up 40+ mil of your payroll. I prefer to keep monta and jack.
he's only 28.
in 2 years he;ll be 30 and will probably only get MLEs. But right now all he’ll get is an MLE, so why wouldn’t be just wait. MLE would lose him 8-10 mil over next 2 years…. thats alot of money
what about a trade?
Could we send him in a package to another team? Say like, to houston with maggs for T-mac? That would give us 20 mil to work with in next years FA market.. and free us from two of our worst contracts. I have heard this being talked about by a few of my friends in Houston, for some reason they really like maggs.
We can trade him after the deadline for opting out but onlz if another team wants him. I do not see Houston wanting him, regardless of what Rockets fans say. Morey is not an idiot. He is one of the few GMs who seem to legitimately see the real value of plazers and the value of being fiscally responsible. I do not see him trading an asset in an expiriing contract for two players a not verz good team wants to get rid of. Perhaps if Isiah was still a GM. Perhaps if St. Jean gets hired somewhere. Perhaps if McHale gets the authoritz to make trades again. But not Morey.
