W's Offseason 'Do's and Don'ts'
First off, I would like to say there has been many many " possible trade" threads and most likely none of them would even happen. I don't think the Warriors have to make many trades except for the 2 obvious ones, Corey Maggette and Jamal Crawford.
And then there is the untouchable list. This list are the names of the players on the Warriors roster I would really hate to see leave in a trade this offseason. Also it could happen this upcoming draft.
I don't know why people are so eager to hope for trades right away just because of a major losing season.
You have to remember this year, the Warriors starting five was the most in the NBA to have a different starting lineup. Look at the teams that MADE the PLAYOFFS, their starting lineup has been the same and consistent. I know the Lakers lineup changes once and a while, putting Lamar Odom back and off the bench and same goes for Walton and Ariza, but those are little changes.
For the Warriors, there were so many different starting 5's I can't even remember how many. I know for sure it was more than 10 and it was rare to see a lineup you'd like. Except for the near end of the year when Monta was in the lineup, things were Slightly better.
What I'm trying to say is that the thing I would hate to see is a good team roster, I personally believe( When fully healthy) to Break up this team, By making trades... when this team's roster looked nothing like it did in the beginning of the year. - Demarcus Nelson starting, Disgruntled Al Harrington still playing, they're both gone now and new players like Morrow, Randolph, even Davidson/ Kurz had shown good vibes late in the season. Brandan Wright and Marco Bellineli, especially Marco, had shown growth from last year, EVEN with the VERY MINIMUM playing time they both got.(Damn you Nellie)
Isn't it very stupid and naive to 'rearrange' a nice roster that we have currently, by some stupid trades....
I know at least ONE PERSON is going to say " Look at the Warriors past and what the FO has done with the trades, stupidity there? Messed up the We Believe team"
Messed up the We Believe team, I don't want this new team to be get messed up too. And I GARUN-DAMN-TEE if we keep this current team and a with a draft pick, playoffs will be for certain.
Here are a list of players I would really hate to see in a trade this offseason:
-Anothony Morrow, Anthony Randolph, Brandan Wright, Marco Bellineli, Ronny Turiaf, Andris Biedrins, Azabuike.
Here's a list the players I ' don't really mind and won't be so bad if they were traded:
-Monta Ellis, Corey Maggette, Jamal Crawford, CJ Watson, Kurz, Davidson.
And we're pretty much stuck with our 'Captain Jack' because I'm sure no team would make a trade for him.
With all that said... here are the Do's and Don'ts:
DO's:
-Do give effort to trade Corey Maggette if possible, his contract is sickening.
-Do hope Jamal opts out( great person & handler, horrible in-game player)
-Do sign a FA something like; Andre Miller, Gortat, etc
-Do look to improve.
DON'TS:
-Don't trade away key players that rarely had the chance to shine.
-Don't get into any 'Moped incidents' this offseason.
-Don't make any stupid trades that would remind us of the trades/off-season before.
Feel free to add some of your own and give your thoughts and opinions.

Ben Wallace or Bosh
Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, or Tyreke Evans. A Warrior in 09.
With the 6th Pick in the 2009 MLB Draft, the SF Giants pick Donovan Tate.

I think towards the end of the season, when we went into tank mode, that our reserves stepped up and really brought up all their confidence for the next season. Having said that, can we PLEASE trade crawford and/or maggette? I’d rather see crawford go though, since maggette could essentially but a 6th man of the year if he stays healthy and our team does relatively well all season long.
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...
Another thing, I’ ve always thought very highly of Belinelli, and even a little for B Wright but I think they would be great pieces in a trade for somebody that could help us more than they are now. I would hate to see Belinelli go, but if thats what it takes to bring in a veteran PF or PG, then I’m all for it.
I think that they don’t get very much play because of Nelson shunning them away because they were Mullin’s draft picks and it is just one last poke at Mullin even when he’s already gone.

I like Corey Maggette. I don’t think other people dislike Maggette, it’s just that they don’t like the contract.

they hate maggette and his contract
i hate his contract more so because we cant trade him more than the contract itself. i dont think its bad because we would not have acquired him if we didnt offer that much because he would have gone to the celtics or spurs.

m'gette would serve another team better
than what he can do as a sixth guy for GS. for his position, he gives above average scoring efficiency and production, and average rebounding. the drawback to his efficiency, is his dependence on getting a lot of calls on his bull-rushes to the hoop that he doesn’t finish with a score. going inside to get a call without finishing doesn’t work in the fourth quarter on the road. what the woe-yrs need from a wing that he doesn’t have, is ball movement, speed to boost the fast break (he started last season decently and soon strained his hammy), and strong perimeter defense. he seems to be a willing defender, but isn’t mobile enough to really be good on the perimeter as a wing. i think that’s part of the reason nelson has him play some minutes at the 4. he’d be a better fit with a slower team that has big guys inside to clog things, which is why UT and SA showed some interest in him previously.
the clash in styles between m’gette’s and nelson’s is why i don’t think the coach had much input behind his signing—a lot of it was timing with oRwell’s budget and the limited market in decent unrestricted free agents.
yea
but after a 29 win season you have to make some kind of change. there is no debating that
Maggs
Maggette has to go. His contract is to high for and for to long. He also just drives and doesnt even look to pass. He is just always trying to get a foul call and takes very bad shots sometimes

![Hawks prove a better fit for [Jamal] Crawford [Bay Area News Group]
Sure he won the 2008-2009 WDWY, but I really do miss JC. Check MT's piece- he seems like a straight up cool cat.](http://cdn2.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/99640/jamal_50_small.jpg)
