Introduction, and my 1st Trade Rumor/Proposal

Watsup everyone!

I am new  here and wanted to introduce myself.  I've been reading this blog for a while but finally had to participate.  I am a die hard Warrior and especially AR4 fan.  This guy is the truth, and is our future.  I could tell by the way he cried when he was benched earlier in the season.  A grown man, crying, because he wanted to win so bad.  When he took the criticism to heart and improved, I knew that this guy is it.  He is the chosen one!

So on to my first trade proposal!  I propose we do the following:

(I am going to quote myself here to make this look more legitimate)

- Ask the Grizzlies to draft Ricky Rubio instead of Thabeet, who clearly is dodging them by claiming an "injury" in order to miss his Memphis workout and go speak to other teams.

- Draft Jordan Hill.

- Trade Jordan Hill, Monta Ellis, Atma Brother 1 and Tim Kawakami to Memphis for Ricky Rubio, any amateur blogger in Tennessee, and any freaking contracts the Grizzlies want to get rid of.  I would even be open to a 3rd team getting involved in order to make the numbers work, by maybe throwing in a lousy contract like that of... (wait for it... wait for it...) ADONAL FOYLE.

(BTW, did it annoy anybody seeing 4 ex Warriors in the NBA finals?  Powell, Mbenga, Pietrus and Foyle to name a few. )

Should this rumor not prove true, after all, 99.99% of trade rumors never happen, then I would be OK with drafting Brandon Jennings.  This is not just because I feel he fits a need, it's because he both fits a need and is the best player available at the 7 spot.   That's my opinion.

PLEASE REC MY POST IT'S MY FIRST ONE!

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

I'll pass on that trade.

Ricky Rubio doesn’t even start in Spain. Read his stats. He plays a little over 20 mins a game for the 5th place Spanish team, Joventud. We have enough youth waiting to develop, ME8 is way better than Rubio now, and I honestly feel he’ll go down as the better player when it’s all said and done.

Plus Monta is a better rebounder than Rubio, by a large margin, and that is one of our biggest weaknesses. I believe Rubio shot under 40% from 2pt range this year. Monta’s last full healthy season saw him shoot 60% from the field for an entire month, against NBA defenses.

So not only will I pass on this trade, because its the main point of this post, I can’t rec it. Sorry

But its cool, I’ve posted some downright wack stuff on this site plenty of times, so for a first post, not bad. I just would have to get a lobotomy if that trade happened. Your commments about AB1 and TK we’re hella funny though. Keep Postin!

Have you EVER watched Rubio

The difference between Rubio and Monta is that Monta is an off-guard and Rubio is a lead guard.

Monta might be “way better” right now, but his role in the long term is infinitely more replaceable than a primary ballhandler, which also happens to be the thing the Warriors lost between 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

Plus, stat-ratting on a guy in EuroLeague and saying that he didn’t start just shows ignorance, since the reason Rubio didn’t start was because he was playing with one hand.

Watch Ricky play, then let’s see how your more informed rambling goes.

maybe you're right

but have you watched rubio play other than his youtube clips and 5 minutes at the olympics against the US team?

if so you might be the only person on this board qualified to talk about him, because i doubt anybody has seen him outside of those 2 medium.

First of all

Welcome to this blog. I know you will have a fun time posting here. I love how you said tto trade Atma and Krapakawi. Anyways, I don’t want to trade Monta, he is our future alongside with Morrow, Beans, and your screenname lol.

Vote yes on Rubio

I said it on the other threads might as well state it here:

Monte will be gone by the end of next year because he’s not a point guard and he is not capable of running the offence, he’s a 2 guard period:

He left at the end of the year and was demanding a trade, I say accommodate him and get the #2 pick from the MG for Monte and a player to be named later ;= and grab Rubio the 6’5 18 year old that is going to be a phonon in this league for many years to come:

Who is this “Monte” guy you keep writing about?

by jae on Jun 21, 2009 10:54 PM PDT up reply actions

columnist monte pool of the contra costa times

i haven’t heard anything about monte moving. have you heard a rumor somewhere?

i agree he’s not a point guard, but he’s a pretty good columnist. i don’t think the cctimes need a point guard for the kind of team they’re running. monte seems to be a pretty good fit there and i hope they keep him.

YES

Jennings please! Monta wants out, too many sources verified it. Rubio would be great too! Monta will never be that PG we are looking for with court vision. We need a PG of the future!

I agree. If the Yankees can have “true Yankees” and “not true Yankees” then why not us? Fish and Van Exel are the first guys I’d like to recommend for that title.

God, I totally thought of this when I read that post yesterday, but was too lazy to put it in writing.

Where do I send my application for membership in the Thing society?

you just go to you profile and write Thing (fill in the blank) in your sig line. :)

for Sleepy and O.M. it may have been, but WS110 and I just kinda crashed their party.

Tru!

I knew I was missing one somewhere lol. Let’s see, if each team has a roster of 12, and there’s 24 players total, and 5 of them are ex—warriors, then over 20% of the players in the NBA finals are ex Warriors!

LETS GO WARRIORS!! [clap clap, clap clap clap]
