For the first time in along time

I was hooting and hollering in joy over this pick! saint and myself celebrated via speaker phone and I still can’t stop smiling. How the hell did Minnesota pass on Curry? I mean I know they drafted Rubio with the 5th pick, but, seriously? Johnny Fucking Flynn? wow…..all I can a say is thank you T-Wolves! Go Dubs!

But, I was told Phoenix loves Curry, even call him the Black Steve Nash. Drafting him doesn’t mean the Stoudemire deal is off. If Phoenix really does love Curry, they might be even happier to do the deal.
The question is, as it will be for any big name they want to get, can they reach an extension agreement?

jeff detroit: what are you looking forward to the most about the NBA?

Stephen Curry: I’m looking forward to playing in front of huge crowds against guys I’ve looked up to my whole life. Playing basketball for a living. I’ll enjoy that on a day to day basis.

Jon (Toronto): Were you expecting to go to New York once Minnesota didn’t call your name?

Stephen Curry: Actually, the opposite. I was expecting Golden State to pick me. IT’s a good fit. A tam that goes up and down and two good guards in place. I can add a spark to the offensive game and make some noise next year.

Trent (Newport Beach): Are you familiar with any of the guys on Golden State?

Stephen Curry: Beyond Ellis and Jackson, I’m pretty unfamiliar with the team. One of my high school rivals played there last year. Other than that it will be meeting new guys and developing new chemistry.

Matt R (NJ): What aspect of your game do you think carries over to the NBA the most?

Stephen Curry: Being able to shoot the ball. It’s a lost art in the NBA for a guy to be consistent of the dribble off the catch. Being a threat to shoot that’s my game.

Definitely. A guy that’s established himself as a great coach and knows how to win. Our team has a great chance to be successful as any team in the West.

MONTA to the Suns........

One thing people seem to forget is that Monta “Fall off my Scooter” Ellis is still in the dog house and there is no telling how that ankle will respond to a full season of the NBA grind. Also, HE RAPES THE SUNS, and they know that. Folks in Phoenix love Monta, and it is my belief that Nelly picked Curry to replace Ellis and pair well into the future with either Marco (though he could be gone too), but more likely Morrow.

OK, let me have it……

AB, BW, Buike, Belli for Amar'e

That deal SUCKS for us. Our problems last year were rebounding and defense, AB is better at both of those compared to Amar’e. Good player, bad fit for our team. I wasn’t down with this trade when it was just AB BW and Marco but Buike too, hell no! PASS!

I was just about to priase larry riley. I’ll have to wait to make sure this trade doesn’t go through though….

Chris Cohan- YOU'RE FIRED!

by bonbrillio on Jun 25, 2009 6:12 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah

and he’s better at playing D and rebounding, which are our weakest points. Plus giving up Buike makes us weaker on perimeter D because we would start maggette. Too much for Amar’e I like him as a player, I’d love him as our 4, but he’d play 5. Plus with AR I don’t feel we need a 4.

If he gets injured we are suddenly down to playing AR and Ronny, that went well last year. I love Amar’e for his offensive game, we dont need offense, we need D and Rebounding out of the center position!

by myk on Jun 25, 2009 6:16 PM PDT up reply actions

Chris Cohan- YOU'RE FIRED!

by bonbrillio on Jun 25, 2009 6:10 PM PDT up reply actions

BAD FIT FOR OUR TEAM?!

No defense and rebounding is what we do. Out run and out shoot our opponent is what we do. As much as I like Biedrins, he will never be an offensive threat. The year we made it to the playoffs-Monta, Baron, J-rich, Jackson, Harrington.

That’s gotta be the worst rebounding lineup ever but we got by because they could run like hell and shoot lights out.

by Captain Jack on Jun 25, 2009 6:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Biedrins

If Biedrins can get a lot of rebounds on the Warriors, then imagine how many rebounds AMARE STOUDEMIRE can get if he were to play here! haha it’s obvious he’ll make us better.

Amare dosn't want to rebound

Beans does, and is better at it.

by qin on Jun 25, 2009 6:20 PM PDT up reply actions

If we make this trade, look at our starting lineup, without the center position included.

Then think what are the things that each does best. ME- score Jack-talk?score Maggette-score AR-rebound-D. We need more D/rebounding. I’m not implying that we would be God awful if we were to make this trade Amar’e is a BEAST! But giving up Buike and BWright to get it done is too much. We would be thin on the front line if Amar’e goes down with an injury. Plus Buike and Belli are 2 of our best perimeter Defenders, way too much for Amar’e.

That’s all I’m saying, too much for Amar’e. Do you disagree?

I don't realy like the idea of trading Biedrins in a deal for amare

especially if it includes Curry. That’s just too much for a guy with an injury history and a questionable heart. So who is the starting center if beans is traded? Turiaf? I don’t think so. Plus Beans is 22, has a really decent contract, and he has improved every year he has been in the league.

I like the guy and all and he is capable of dominating in the post but I just don’t like the idea of giving up so much in other areas of our game for one dude. I mean, c’mon, we’re not talking about Michael Jordan here for crying out loud!

Draft Thoughts

Seems to me like all any of the sports pundants talk about during the year is the East Coast teams, the well documented east coast bias, yet every NBA draft seems to be stacked with west coast/pac 10 guys! But nothing ever seems to change, next year we will be told how good the big east is, and how the Pac 10 is weak, wish the rest of the nation would wake up and actually watch some games!
