My rookie predictions for this season

The draft is over and there were many suprises and trades in this weeks draft. Rather it was Minnesota picking three point guards, or Shaq going to play in Cleveland. This is about how I think these years draft class will turn out.

ROY: Blake Griffin - I love the Curry pick and I loved when Vitale said he will be rookie of the year, but Griffin will come out of the gates on fire. He will get his chance early and often and when you play with Baron Davis that just helps your cause even more (don't forget he was still a good passer last year).  Runner ups will be Curry, Henderson, Harden, and Evans

Most dissapointing: Johhny Flynn - I am not saying he is not a good player, I actually think he will be a solid starter but I think that the him and Rubio tag team will not work. One of them will probably play some shooting guard next year and will put them out of place and Flynn is the better scorer between the two so he will probably be put in this bad situation. Runner ups could be Thabeet, Rubio, and Holiday.

Most suprising: Gerald Henderson - Call me crazy but I think Henderson is going to be a very good pro. He will go to Charlotte and will become there go to guy. He won't be putting up twenty points a game but he will be scoring fifteen to seventeen in my mind and will blossom into a very good starter. Hill and Collison are also candidates.

Player who should have gone much higher: Patty Mills - This guy will turn out to be a player much in the mold of Tony Parker. He is quick, can get to the bucket and is a good passer. He was picked in the second round but after this season he will be looked at as a guy who should have been a top fifteen player. Other people who could be considered will be Blair and Ellington

The Anthony Randolph award: Brandon Jennings - This award is given to the player who will blossom late in the year. Jennings will start off the year struggling to adjust to the NBA game but he will adjust towards the last part of the season and will eventually be a player who Bucks fans can be confident in to be there star player for years to come. Hill and Clark are also up for this award.

Player that will have the best career (not named Griffin) :James Harden - He is going to be a all star in two or three years. Him and Durant will become on of the best tandems in the league. He has the all round game to get it done and will also be a great defender. He will also be the Thunders best passer on the court. Other people with bright futures are Curry (not being biased), Flynn (don't let this year fool you), Jennings, and Henderson.

I think Nellie

would actually break tradition and play his rookie. Stephen will now be the warriors one of the few to lead the team.

Nellie has no “tradition” of benching rookies. When they can play, he has a tradition of playing them. When they can’t, he doesn’t award free time.

still

this is like the durant year. he is far and away the favorite for rookie of the year. lets hold off on our curry ROY hopes until we really see him in a warrior uni. i wouldnt put all my faith in Riley sayin we want to keep him just yet! tho i wouldnt mind seein the warrior franchise with its 7th rookie of the year! includin when in philly

there's talk to back that up

folks are saying he’s one of the players in the draft most ready to contribute right away. it’s not all that far-fetched.

but of course, we’ll have to wait and see how he survives Nellie.

I was really hoping OKC would get Thabeet, if only so Kevin Durant could get enough touches to average 40ppg next year (attended the game in February and Jeff Green hogging shots while Durant was red hot is the only reason the W’s won and Durant finished with only 32 — he could of touched for 50+ if they ran the offense through him. The guy is just unreal when he is on) .

I’m going to go out on and limb here and offer up Tyler Hansborough. Yes, there is bust potential here, but if he has any game at all he should be able to beat out the lackluster group that Indiana has at PF/C and get enough minutes to put up 13-16ppg and 8-10rpg, which might be good enough for consideration.

Curry can't win ROY

I don’t think Nellie would play him that much

True

Curry won’t start playing until the second half of the season, just like what happen to Randolph.

We be doin' it CROOKLYN style!!!!!

i dunno

curry has more star power and fanfare then any of the rookies we have had recently. I think nellie plays him. Curry is instantly the most popular player on the warriors (nationally of course we warrior fans have our own favs). Im just sayin nellie will have a lot of pressure to play curry pretty quickly

i don't think

that J Flynn and Rubio will ever see the court for the same team. At least not in Minnesota. One of them is going somewhere else, and i’m betting it’ll be Rubio. And i’m betting it’ll be for a big guy.
