How bout Bosh Now?

In all the rumors surrounding this Amare deal, it looks like we'll have to give up 3-4 pieces amongst the Beans/Wright/Bellinelli/Buke/Curry fivesome. Personally, I think 3 is doable, especially if its Beans/Wright/Bellinelli, but 4 is just way too much. But given what's been floating around to PHX, couldnt a comprable package land us Bosh instead? I'd have to think that Beans/Wright/Bellinelli would do it, maybe a lotto-protected or at most a top-5 protected future #1 as icing on the cake. Granted, it would be a lot more difficult to lock him in to an extension before the deal is completed, but Toronto knows hes a flight risk...check that, a flight guarantee, so getting 90 cents on the dollar for him now and young relatively cheap pieces would be ideal for them.

Also, I'm guessing Maggette's name isnt getting any love in any of these deals bc of his contract...a Beans/Maggs for Amare wouldve been nice. Toronto may have an interest in a scorer like him as well...

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

If we could do

maggs + andris for anyone i’d pull the trigger just to get rid of maggs contract. but if we can do it to get an all star caliber player…wow wow we wow. not going to happen.

How about Maggs for Camby

May have to throw in a pick or player but Camby could help rebounding and defense plus there would lots of money in 2010 for free agents

i like that deal

Or how about Maggette for Tyson Chandler

hear me out before you flame -

if we trade Wright but keep Curry in the Amare deal, we need another big and Chandler’s contract is much shorter than Maggette’s, plus with Curry we have firepower coming off the bench

ok, target lit …

Id rather trade for Amare

Amare seems like a perfect fit in our style of offense and I think there is a better chance Stoudemire stays than Bosh

will he stay healthy tho is another real question

by gsw88 on Jun 26, 2009 10:26 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

he commits to defense

amare is all offense, and I believe Bosh is on the same level as Amare on the offensive end too.

Its time for a change...

It doesn't matter

I think Bosh will leave us anyway. Stoudemire seems like a match made in heaven with the us.

Bosh is younger. Bosh has yet to have a down year where he took a big step backwards. Stoudemire has. I don’t know if it’s decline or attitude or what, but Stoudemire 08-09 is not a player worth max money. Which Stoudemire would show up? (and who plays the part of Nash to get him the ball, something that made a big difference in his his numbers?)

They will both leave us

the problem is if we can get them to sign an extension

i think that bosh is more of a nellie guy because he has more range on his jumper than amare does and he rebounds better

Bosh can't play center

that’s why we need Amare, he did it for 2 years with the Suns.

Amare can't play center either

In those 2 years, he was getting bulldozed by real centers – hence the Shaq trade.

Huh?

I can’t imagine why you’d rather have Amare. Bosh is younger, has a better attitude and is a better defender. The only way the deal gets done w/ either guy is if they sign an extension so if we get Bosh we get him for 5 seasons.

by Lifelong on Jun 26, 2009 1:26 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

true

bosh is hands down better than amare. amare’s defense is poor (especially exposed when he couldnt do a thing to help on d in that spurs series) also bosh seems to be a much harder worker and has more tenacity.
bosh should be first option
then amare

Bosh has come out and said he wont sign an extension

he’s opting out whatever team hes on and will sign a max deal of his choosing

To say 3 is doable...but 4 is not

for a perennial all-star and arguable the most skilled bigman we’ve had since C-Webb is laughable.

Wright. Belinelli. Curry. They can all be replaced.

I don’t want to part with Bookie, but if it’s necessary, then so be it.

by phiLthyphiL on Jun 26, 2009 11:01 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

i wouldnt give up bookie

but i think your completely right, between wright marco and curry, thats a reasonable 15-20 minutes per game between the 3 of them unless nelly desides to play a rookie. and for an all-star in the paint who can run the floor, i don’t think you can give up too much, we could even throw in Kurz (our teams future) and i’d be cool with that

i don't want 1 year of anybody

that’s too much team to give up for a single year of someone. we aren’t winning the championship next year if we give up 3-4 quality players, i don’t care who we get. we’d win down the road when we got our depth back.

by HoLdEmUP on Jun 26, 2009 11:16 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Dude

They aren’t going to make the trade if it’s not long term. They are going to try and construct a contract before he is traded if the trade happens.

by duballers23 on Jun 26, 2009 11:54 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

part of the agreement

is that he sign an extension, and we are in the process of negotiating the extension

can you negotiate with a player during trade talks? that sounds like tampering.

heart of a champion, will of the warrior.

by cap'n hack on Jun 26, 2009 3:29 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

It was pretty much the same situation

KG had one more year left on his deal and would only sign an extension if he was traded to the team of his choice. Once Minny had a deal they liked w/ Boston, Boston negotiated the contract w/ KG, although the contract was technically signed by Minny and then KG was traded to Boston.

It would be tampering if, let’s say, Amare didn’t get traded to the W’s and the W’s started negotiating a contract w/ him in the Spring for after his current deal expired

by Lifelong on Jun 26, 2009 3:52 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

It isn’t if you get permission from the other team which is commonplace for something like this. When you’re talking about getting a guy to sign an extension along with a trade, it’s absolutely necessary. Interviewing someone prior to a trade in this context isn’t tampering. It’s significantly different than lobbying for a player under contract to opt out.

by jae on Jun 27, 2009 5:59 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

hmmm

As much of an offensive monster that is Amare, i’m not a big fan of his because of his defensive ineptness and his underachieving ability to rebound. Plus he’s displayed some attitude last year which makes me wonder if he may display the same type of attitude for us if say… he doesn’t get enough touches, or maybe get’s in Nellie’s doghouse.

I much prefer Bosh for reasons opposite of Amare’s negatives. While neither is really a true center, oh well… we can always make due with what we got.

by spacedout on Jun 26, 2009 2:01 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Finally...someone who knows what they are talking about.

PLEASE DONT DO IT WARRIORS! The buzz here in Az is my thinking EXACTLY… we are getting fleeced on this deal if we give them Curry! Does anyone in the Bay Area understand THIS WILL BE WORSE THAN WHAT THE LAKERS DID TO GRIZZLIES LAST YEAR!!!
Read this from the AZ papers this morning… they are already counting on a 4 for 1 trade with Curry included… and if they try to throw in Barbosa…we are screwed EVEN MORE!

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2009/06/26/20090626sunscurry.html

They should be more than happy to get Beans/Wright and Belinilli.
I cant believe we are even considering this trade. Everyone down here in the desert is pumped about this trade and KNOW Stoudamire is past his prime. Has anyone in SF looked at a medical file on this has been?
BUt a bigger question is : why are’nt we looking at BOSH instead?

by WarriorFanHatesTheSunsInAZ on Jun 26, 2009 2:07 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

because we're stupid.

Its time for a change...

by RunNdGun on Jun 26, 2009 3:05 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

depends

For an immediate need for a rebounding/defending role player, I’d rather have Buke next year

Going forward into the future, Curry, obviously, has the greater upside

by Lifelong on Jun 26, 2009 3:28 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Curry is being mentioned as an untouchable in this trade proposal

The King of the East shall move his kingdom to the West. 2010.

by GoldenBlue on Jun 26, 2009 5:27 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

well not really.

Curry is nice, but he isn’t Amare nice. And Kaz is a good role player that it. I would trade him for Amare. And we are getting a extention to Amare. He is not going to leave if that happen. Bosh is going to NY. Just face it, he want to trade The Craptors. But, he isn’t going to come here since it’s a small market. And the dood can’t plays center at all.

by warriorfan4life on Jun 27, 2009 12:21 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Go after BOTH! Bosh & Amare are both holding their franchises by the scroat

Chicago is in the Bosh hunt too, but let’s figure out how to recapture some leverage.

Hmm, what if we turned to Toronto and offered the same package as for Amare (ignore for a second one is more ideal for GSW than the other – either is an upgrade over Andris and both can make us a contender for WCF).

Andris, Marco, Wright.
No Curry, and we’ll add what we need to if they’re throwing in a player or a pick.

Both GMs know that the other franchise is on the other phone, and both realize the fact that their own PF has leverage because they’re looking at ending up with nothing to show for their stud. Plus, there haven’t been better offers forthcoming since the Amare rumors came to light.

Playing them off each other could move one or the other to make a deal without Curry. Either way, obviously we need an extension if we’re letting Andris go.

by hardcore on Jun 26, 2009 6:51 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Ballsy, I like it. Toronto won’t go for the same package as the one Phoenix wants. Phoenix is over Amar’e. They don’t like his ego, plus the injury is uncertain. Toronto isn’t desperate to unload Bosh. We’d have to give them AB/BW/Marco/Buike or Curry. I’m not down. I’d rather wait and see what the team looks like this year.
