We Can Get Baron Davis Back for Cheap!

I know everyone in the bay area loved BD, I did too. Well we could have baron back if we wanted to but it wouldn't come cheap.

Literally with the new contract, we could have got him for a lot less before. And figuritively  with the mind set because he probably wont want to come back to a team that really didnt see him to be that valueable although he did so much for the warriors.

But what if i told you that we could get someone with :

Great Defense

Great Ball Handling

Good I.Q. / Great Decision making

Good Perimiter Shooter

Good Team mate

with Anthony Morrow's Salary!

well there is a guy from Oklahoma State Univ. by the name of  Byron Eaton. (Mc Donalds HS All American)  He is a terrific player, and i watch and follow a lot of players. He could definetly be the next  BD. the only differences are he has much better shot selection, and he is 5'11 instead of 6'3. Last year was his senior season.  He averaged about 14 points and 6 ast last year which is good but brought a lot more to the game than what his stats show. And he specializes in DEFENSE!!!! (has OSU's steals record) Im surprised he was not drafted, and kind of happy because now we can go sign him. Im sure most of you know a good player when you see it.

We could invite him to play for us in the summer, I gaurantee if he did the dubs would not let him walk. you dont have to take my word, if you can find some video from this year go check him out.

meh

I wouldn’t rule it out yet. The Law trade makes it a whole lot less likely, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

So many guards?

Outside of Monta and Jack:

Claxton will probably be bought out/ waived/ kept on ice until the trading deadline.

If Marcus Williams couldn’t get any burn what makes you think Acie Law will get any? He most definitely will be real friendly with his tailor because the only thing he’ll be rockin on gamedays are Alfani.

Curry will be lucky to see significant time. I just really don’t see him contributing much his rookie year IF HE STAYS.

We definitely should resign Watson. Something in the ballpark of 2 years $4.5 million should suit him well.

Curry and playing time

I’m really not sure why people think Don Nelson isn’t going to play Curry very much. Both Nelson and Riley have made it clear that they would be surprised if Curry wasn’t playing significant minutes by at least January. Curry isn’t some high-potential freshman who we aren’t going to play for three years. He played 3 years of college ball, and my bet is that he starts for us very early in the season.

but idk about BDavis

I propose this trade.

Claxton & Maggette for Baron Davis
Yea

Speedy = $5 mil
Maggette= $50mil
Davis = $60 mil I think????

I don't BELIEVE in Baron

He’s not himself anymore he wants to be a film producer, so good for him. The Bdiddy days are over and at his age with his history he is “damaged goods”; the Clips being foolish enough to overpay him.

I do think Maggette should be traded but I have not heard of any interest from other teams, especially with Hedo now available.

by djnoname on Jun 26, 2009 11:07 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

yea, i would do that. I like maggs but if we still have azibuike then i dont mind letting him go only because of his contract though

acie law and speedy are just a waste of space. they will never get off the bench. we should just get rid of them

this is even worse than post-draft last year. I’m all for a growing GSoM community, but this is pretty ridiculous. At one point earlier today 2 of the 5 most recent fanposts were both title KEEP STEPHEN CURRY!!!!!! Well, one was actually titled KEEP CURRY! so I’m sure it provided a much different but similarly well thought out and well written perspective.

people come and go ...

i was posting here rather frequently before SB changed the layout. We’re all Warrior fans so instead of picking on the new fans posting – or old guys returning, lets embrace all the Warrior love.

The bigger the better. More people equals more ideas. Also, more advertising dollars, that will help keep this site vibrant.

my 2 cents.

Agree in theory.

But not if “more people” means more kids (or grownup kids) who like to spam the board with unreadable “laundry-list” diaries and drop homophobic insults at respected posters who dare to challenge their half-baked “opinions.”

I wonder if there couldn’t be a “sandbox” forum for these types where they could read and participate in the site without getting sand and bubblegum and pee in areas grownups like to hang out in.

Haha

Here were the first three that popped into my head:

• Cuban sanwdwich (roast pork, ham, mustard, pickle, cheese, grilled) at Nuevo Frutilandia on 24th and Folsom in SF
• Chicken shawerma at Truly Med on 16th (or the one on Haight)
• Burrito al pastor at Taqueria Cancun on Valencia

Do burritos and shawerma count as sandwiches?

Dude

You really think it’s about spelling and punctuation? Did you miss the self-professed “future sportswriter” who dropped like ten completely incoherent diaries on the site in the last couple days (a couple of them since deleted) and told Kenntoe he "takes it up the “a**” for having the gall to challenge one of his assertions? You really think that adds anything?

There’s “low-hanging fruit” and then there’s rotten fruit on the ground that should just be pitched.

Thing 1

by Sleepy Freud on Jun 27, 2009 11:40 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I was referring to my original "low-hanging fruit" comment which was about the silliness of nit-picking people's spelling when it has nothing to do with the actual idea of the post . . .

My point about spelling and grammar can be summed up as “We’ve got bigger fish to fry” so why waste your time nit-picking at petty details? Punctuation seems to be next in the line of “things to get on people about that have no bearing on the overall quality of content or discourse on this site”. Sorry if my sarcasm was too veiled.

There seems to have been an influx of new accounts beginning on 6/24/09 and those people started posting with a vengeance. That’s the source of a lot of noise. Doesn’t this happen every summer? They just need to be diligent in deleting spam-posts and we, as a community, need to be diligent in ignoring or dealing with the comments.

There also seems to be a growing hostility towards trying to have a logical discussion. Almost like “who the hell are you to try and question my opinion” regardless of whether or not is completely contrary to evidence or logic. That started to gain momentum a few weeks ago and I’ve watched it happen on a few different occasions between newish posters and some of the more thoughtful regulars. I predict that it will get worse in that regard before it gets better.

This is my pet peeve around here. I get tired (and a little sad) reading some of these guys get hurt feelings and making personal attacks, because they aren’t used to having their assertions challenged. It’s nothing personal. We are all trying to refine our “opinions” here.

A Lame Theory of Mine

It may be the first important generational divide between us Gen X and Gen Y people and the current generation of teens. Brash audacity is fine by me as long as it has it drives home a solid point or has a clever spin to it.

I think the new popular wave is “Brash Audacity A La Carte”.

We’ll see what happens, I may be completely off base. I have noticed it more with comedy. Regardless, I try not to moralize it. Just because I like logical arguments and clever humor doesn’t mean I’m right and they’re wrong, it may just mean I’m getting old and need to adapt to the new rules of engagement.

Please don’t. If you traded in your clever humor for the newer model of what’s funny I think I’d be left in the dust. : )

What?

We already have like 6 PG’s on the roster now, why do we need another one?

Gerald Madkins.

by gorrillas on Jun 26, 2009 11:16 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

We have zero...

Maybe 1/4 of one with CJ Watson.

Just because Curry makes a few good passes in college doesn’t make him a point guard. Monta still isn’t and will never be PG.

by phiLthyphiL on Jun 27, 2009 1:05 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Monta still isn't and will never be PG.

Why, because you think he won’t? Don Nelson believes that Monta can be a point guard and if I had to choose sides I would put money that Don Nelson is a better judge of talent than any of us. So if you can prove that Monta can’t become a scoring point, I would love to hear it.

What we need is...

the “Birdman”! The guy is a free agent this offseason and he would be a huge pickup for us defensively and if we were to make the trade for amare, he could help out defensively at center off the bench.

Ty Lawson is better than him and he’s way too short. Unless he’s Allen Iverson or Chris Paul, he won’t be a game changer.

yea i liked ty lawson but he was drafted. and lawson is the same size, but he has a lot more D than lawson. He wouldn’t really affect the payroll, and I wouldn’t expect him to get many minutes for now. He would just be a extra option because knowing we are going against the best pg’s night in night out, it wouldn’t hurt.

ITS JUST A BLOG

Sometimes yall take things too far. Its a blog, its ment to post ideas. The only reason i put that as the title was so you could read it. and its not just random it make some kinda of sense if you payed attention. Im saying we probably cant get Baron back because of the situations that took place but there is a really good player that plays like him still available.(that i think we need) Now so what i misspelled so things, you got the point. This isnt a newspaper.

now back to basketball talk, thankyou to those who did whether the agreed or not.
the thing i do agree with is that we do have too many gaurds, at the PG none can really defend all that well. so aside from “monta” and curry, we dont need the rest really. but i did like C.J. too.
