Pietrus is going to shut down Kobe
Since the Warriors franchise sucks so bad, my only enjoyment out of this NBA season will be to watch Mickael Pietrus clamp down on Kobe. Pietrus has seen a lot of Kobe during his career and is one of the few bodies in the NBA who can match him step for step. Look for a break out series for Air France. Evidently he just swapped out his Kobe shoes for an old pair of Jordans:

BTW: As an old Warriors fan, let me say this:
It's time to boycott our lousy, beloved organization. Let them go bankrupt -- don't give the Cohan clan another dime. They insult the game of basketball by their years of mismanagement. They have no interest in winning basketball, only in making a profit off NBA-loving suckers. Don't renew your season tickets! Boycott the Warriors! Force Cohan to sell!
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

As much as I detest the Fake Show. . . . uh, I mean . . . the Fak….the Lakers . . . my gut has them winning but I am pulling fo’dee clamp down from Pietrus. Hey at least he doesn’t step on the out of bounds line on those corner three’s anymore!

Even though I'm not a big Laker Hater like some of you are...
I still love to watch Kobe play and have respect for his game.
But hell no I ain’t rooting for them or the Magic. Just give me good basketball in this finals and I’m cool.
I am still an MP2 fan, so I’ll be rooting for him to do well and get under kobe’s skin while rockin Hyperdunks.
LETS GO PIE-TRUS!
He knows the WE BELIEVE Oakland fans got his back.
That would be sick if he was the first player to come out of the Laker tunnel with a WE BELIEVE shirt ROCKIN’ KOBE KICKS.
hahahaha!

NOOOOOOOOOOO
Dude cheer against the Lakers. Especially being in our same division, let alone state, you know how much crap talk we’ll have to endure next year from their fans when they come to the Roaracle? At least if/when they do that, we can respond by saying their team is the Buffalo Bills of the NBA if the Lakers lose.

lol.
no worries man.
But hell no I ain’t rooting for them or the Magic.
I’m neutral to the finals. Give me a good series like I said and I’m cool.
Just an overall basketball fan here and not just a crazy Warrior fan.

don’t know how many steps Kobe has lost, but from his days with the W’s, MP always had more trouble guarding quicker swing men in the Kobe mold – whereas he had much more success against physical swings in the mold of a Paul Pierce.
maybe the fact that Dwight Howard is lurking behind MP will stop Kobe from driving to the hoop full steam and give MP the extra time to stay with Kobe.

pietrus is going to get pwned!
I like MP2, but when he was here he annoyed the crap out of me with the silly fouls and turnovers (stepping out of bounds and traveling). I despise kobe but he’s on a mission to prove he can get a ring without shaq and we all know how kobe is when he’s on a mission. Remember when he was trying to beat that rape charge? He would fly to colorado, go to court, fly out to the next day and drop 50 on a team.
I hope MP2 can clamp down on him at least a little bit, but hes going to have his hands full.

Pietrus will be a non-factor unless he is an offensive threat.
Pietrus was allowed more contact with Lebron because lebron was always initiating the contact. This will not be te case with Kobe. IMO, Kobe is going to put Pietrus foul trouble or just blow by him. Lebron is very physical in his attacks off the dribble, but Kobe is far more crafty. We all know how much of a thinker Pietrus is (travelling is two steps or three steps?). So my guess is that he’ll be about as ineffective as your average defender against Kobe. Besides Kobe has WAAAAAAY more help than Lebron on offense. Since Kobe won’t be carrying the load, Pietrus won’t have the same suffocating help defense that they used to get blindside turnovers on Lebron.
Still, I will be rooting for the Magic, and Pietrus. To Hell with the Lakers.
Honestly I think the Cavs HAD the talent to make it to the finals, but they’ve had trouble initiating the fast break and open court offense. That gave them a huge disadvantage against a team like Orlando that is known for imposing it’s offensive will on the opposition.
Go Magic!
Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell? Oh no hide the children!

I didn't read this post, but when I saw the title I just had to post.....
NO, no he’s not. As much as I want him Peitrus to shut him down. Jesus wearing Jordans, drinking Vitamin Water after a bowl of Wheaties couldn’t stop Kobe when he wants to score.
The only person that could stop Kobe is Kobe. But even if Kobe cloned himself, the clone wouldn’t be able to stop Kobe…..
ANNNNNDDD even if Peitrus DOES stop Kobe for 1 game, Kobe will score 98 points the next game then giv
Don’t get it twisted, I would luuuuuvvvvvv to be wrong, I’m all for the Magic beating the Lakers. But like they said about Jordan “You can’t stop him, you can only hope to contain him.”

If Pietrus is going to stop Kobe like he “stopped” Lebron, I can see Kobe going off for about 40ppg on 46% shooting in the series.

Post game update:
He did not.

Might not want to call Pietrus “Air France” for at least a week or two.
