So let's see...

• Too stupid to get into college
• Sucked at basketball in Europe
• Only player I’ve ever heard of who showed up late at his own NBA draft ceremony
• A braying, trashtalking jackass who has done absolutely jack in his career to back it up

A little early to write him off, but everything he’s done so far suggests he’s more than a bit of a knucklehead. I’m starting to think those pre-draft reports of his “newfound maturity” were a total PR snowjob.

Anyway, good luck in Milwaukee, Mr. Jennings. I’m not holding my breath for your stardom.

the prevailing mindset (based on all the MN newspaper reports & one member who translates what all the Spanish papers are saying) over on Canis Hoopus (Twolves blog) is that the kid just wants to play. But his agent and the parents are against it. especially Rubio’s father, word is he was vehemently against Rubio entering the draft (hence all the rumors for much of the year that Rubio would not enter the draft this season), until Rubio’s agent convinced him of the monetary benefits (which are now up in the air since he was drafted 5th, and not 4th).

it’s probably not a coincidence that his agent is Dan Fegan, the same agent for Yi Jian Lian & Jrue Holiday. I’m surprised players keep signing with him because he seems to repeatedly hurt his player’s draft stock.
