Another Conference with Riley and Rowell coming up in person

As most of you know the Dubs organization held a conference call a few weeks ago with season ticket holders so that they can answer any questions that fans may have concerning the direction the team is headed. It was quite informative and good to hear from the front office actually speak to their beloved fans...

Anyways I just got off the phone with my sales guy again (8th time after season end) as he wanted to see what I thought about the call a few weeks back and then informed me the Warriors are having a forum that will be held in person Wed. 6/10 @ 6-8pm in Oakland with about 100 or so selected season ticket holders with guests. He said the forum will let the holders be able to ask any uncensored questions to the GM and Prez without Fitz screening the questions... uh oh! There will also be another one held the next day 6/11 not in Oakland... I forgot the city but it started with a "D" haha sorry guys.

Geez so what do you guys think about this? I'm scheduled to go to the one in Oakland and my sales guy said I can bring 1 guest for now but I can call him back to schedule even more friends to join if I wanted. I'm not sure how the selection process was but I guess I was lucky? One thing I know for sure, I'm going ALL OUT when I'm asking my question!

I really like the way the organization is handling themselves this off season. It seems they are finally learning from their mistakes and trying to interact more with their knowledgeable fan base. There really hasn't been a day where I haven't thought about the Warriors and I'm sure there are others here the same way so it's great to see the front office do these kinds of things. Maybe next they'll hold a poll to see which player we'd like to see be drafted!

another ploy to get people to renew their season tickets… instead of blowing all their money on setting up things like this & telling us how great next season will be in commercials, tell them to go buy some 1st round draft picks like the Trailblazers do.

Post your questions here then?

Without saying who is leaving, ideally how many new players will the roster have?

Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell? Oh no hide the children!

Ask about Baron and Bosh and what possible roster changes could affect this team in a positive way.

by GSW_fan on Jun 5, 2009 10:48 PM PDT reply actions

Ask them:

What will it take for you two to resign and for Cohan to sell the team.?

LeBron James? I'm the only Ty Crane.

ask

If they are aware that Don Nelson and his short term goals are completely opposite of what our franchise needs right now if we want to build a perennial winning team.

Also ask:
If they are intentionally trying to insult our intelligence by saying they’re trying to build only an “exciting team this season”, shorthand for a “high scoring – low win” team.

I hope the questions really are ALL OUT, I’d love to see them squirm a little.

hahahahahahhahahahahahha

"If you can make 10 things happen during the 10 minutes you play tonight, we will quadruple your salary and you will start for the rest of the season" ... and then he does just that, but the coach reneges on the promise so Anthony has a near-crying meltdown on the bench. That's every Anthony Randolph game.

Re: short term goals are completely opposite of what our franchise needs right now

What do you see as Nelson’s short-term goals, what is what the franchise needs to be a long term winner and how do those two conflict?

Uniforms!!

Can you ask if we are finally getting rid of the horrible and silly neon orange and ugly indigo jerseys? Is pretty unanimous that every fan here prefers the retro jerseys to the present ones.

I know it’s superficial and not as important as some of our other current problems….but damn those things are disgusting, and the older jerseys are so pretty.

Again...

I say no one should show up to this meeting as a show of solidarity against the current management and ownership team.

They arent going to actually say anything, and if you think you are getting honest answers to tough questions, remember that they wont follow through. The never have since Cohan bought the team.

Do you really think you will ask a question they dont expect to hear? They have a mountain of bullsh*t ready to spew at the attendees.

The only problem with that is if they dont go

Then it will only be supporters there asking softball questions.

It's a

shi**y piss poor-run organization that has become a laughing stock among the league and is becoming comparable to the Elgin Baylor run Clippers.

Just as qin and other users said, they won’t even ask softball questions, more like T-ball questions to build up those season-ticket holders who do go and try to build up a positive response among a very small sample size. I’m sure they wouldn’t dare let someone with the ability to ask rash and personal questions go the event, or get away with much without being silenced. You do remember the man on the phone who went off on Rowell and they abruptly hung up on him during the conference call. What makes you think this event will be any different? Get the t-ball set ready. Someone among the media will probably run a piece about how effective the in-person conference is.

I’m really surprised anyone found that conference call effective. They asked and answered the same questions, revealed nothing new at all and tried to come across personable to the fans and at making such a good attempt to reach out. That is of course, until Riddergate was revealed.

Seriously, this organization is a complete mess with a few very shortsighted goals; make Don Nelson the winningest coach in NBA history, try to avoid succumbing to the pressures and downfalls of the current economy, squeeze every last drop of profitability possible from the leftover We Believe bandwagoners/ loyalists alike.

There’s no goal of winning, playoffs, or a championship.

There’s the importance of renewals, product, entertainment value, and tickets.
