Why are you so loyal to this team?
Everyone claims to be the best fans in the country blah blah blah, but I truly believe Warriors fans are the best
because of the way we support a losing product. Anyone can be a fan when your team is winning, just look at Laker
fans. I myself don't even know why I support this team. I'm just as big a fan as all of you are on here. I check GSOM
almost every day and probably 3 or 4 times a day during the regular season. Why do we continue to support a team
that loses almost every year. Even the Clippers have more or maybe the same playoff appearances in the last 15
years as us. I still go to games even tho we suck, and even have a Warriors jersey even tho I think we have one of
the ugliest uniforms in the league. No matter what I support this team, more then any other teams in sports. Have
you guys gone to other teams blog's on SBNation, they don't get no where near as many comments, fanposts, and
fanshots as us. I am just as big a football fan as basketball, but I don't find myself checking the 9ers blogs or
Raiders' blogs everyday like I do with GSOM. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way and I'm sure most of
you guys don't even know why you are so loyal to this team either.
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

I'm a loyal fan because I'm a MASSOCHIST!
Insanity is described as doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome. That’s what Warrior fans are, INSANE. We support this basketball product, a product that was half-assed slapped togther by the devil, and expect that each season will be different: it won’t. Each season I attend a few games, TIVO each and every game, read from this site religiously, and rock my god-awful looking Warriors jersey. I EXPECT the next coming season to be different, but it never is.
Simply put, I’m a Warriors fan because literally, I suffer from this form of insanity.

I'm Loyal because I'm a Warrior Fan.
And not that of a Bandwagon fan (ie. see 80% of all Laker fans)
Do you need more?
thank you very much.
Go dubs!

thanks for recognizing
That even though 80% of Laker fans may be bandwagon, some of us are real hardcore fans too. I’m a Lakers fan in basketball, and a Raider fan in football. Giants in baseball. It’s been that way since I was born, when I was growing up, all I remember learning from my family was Lakers = good, Raiders = good, Celtics/Broncos/Chiefs, etc. = bad. And for that reason I will always love my teams, even though I wish more than one of them would have a winning season sometime.

I'm loyal because..........
It’s in my nature to defend what is mine, NO matter what the reason.
And being raised in the Bay, makes the Warriors, Niners, and Giants , MY teams. Even to a much lesser extent, the Raiders and A’s, I don’t root for them directly (Or publicly).
Just like I get attached to certain material objects that lose they’re luster, like old High School Football T-shirts, or my Baseball Cards, or my old Louisville Slugger. They’re MINE!
It’s in our nature, once we get attached, for WHATEVER the reason, we stay loyal. Just like even though they’re not with us anymore, I wish the best for Mully, J-Rich, Matt Barnes, Baron, even Anthony Roberson. Unless that is, they’re facing MY TEAM!

The dubs are like that cousin or uncle who has messed up with dumb decisions his whole life then does some real positive things for a short while only to re-surface back to the dumb decisions. Yet through all that you still love him and will be there no matter what . . . or am I just speaking for myself ? =/
I miss Matt Barnes

I agree with you completely...
And it’s cool that Matt Barnes is your uncle.

He might as well be . . .
. . . with all that ink on him. Now, I really miss my uncle. Ehemm, not Matt Barnes.

Because I'm stupid.

Go Warriors or something, still.

Cause it’s no fun rooting for a team that ALWAYS wins. The love of this team is that you want to see them succeed, although that hasn’t happened much in the past 15 or so years. Whole point of being a fan is backing your team up through the good and bad, and for our case, most of it has been bad, really bad. This is something that Laker fans will NEVER understand. I just wish I was old enough to have appreciated the Run TMC days…
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

I think it’d be fun rooting for a team that always wins. I wouldn’t know though, seeing as how I root for bay area teams.

I love this team and stick by them more than any other franchise in the Bay Area
because I love basketball it’s my favorite sport, before I had women in my life basketball was my vice, and still is. I’ve been watching them since Tim Hardaway was punking fools with that sicky crossover which I still try to emulate while on the court. I stick by this team to watch them improve, to yell at the ones that never seem to do better a la Pietrus. I watch every game and every minute until the buzzer sounds even if they’re getting beat by 30. Sometimes I’ll rewatch games just to watch those 5 plays were Randolph did something sweet. I’ve watched this team even when they had 0 talent and believe me those years I spent in college watching this team in 95 – 99 there was some horrible teams! But in the end they’re still my team. Someone on the team always seams to improve even if it is a bench player like Kelenna or Sura.
In the end I will always be a Warriors Fan as long as they are in the Bay they’ll be my team. GO WARRIORS!!!!
It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

Yeah, if i were a any type of hockey fan, I wouldn’t need the Warriors.
And lets not get ahead of ourselves here, the Giants were the only good bay area team this past decade to actually root for.
Now Barry was run out of town(a shame) it is not the same.
Barry Bonds was treated like shit and wasn’t even caught but somehow….Big Mac, Manny, Canseco, A-Roid, Pettitte, Sheffield, Sosa, and the list goes on are not colluded against. They weren’t abused by the media. Even Manny, Arod, and Pettitte are still playing and barely any stories talk about them like they did for Bonds.
The Media was jealous of Bonds as he wasn’t in a LA, Chicago, or NYC. He didn’t revere them, so they needed to get back. The Bay had the greatest player of all time, and we cannot even talk about it. It is not a glory day type of thing. We are supposed to be ashamed. BUt guess what America!? We haven’t had a lot of fun in terms of sports recently, but the Bonds years were the best and greatest time to watch in the bay.

I have no idea!
I’m in the military stationed first in Texas then in Hawaii. I’ve been away from the Bay for 6 years now. I’ve always been a die hard Niner fan, Loved the Giants and loved the Dubs. I can’t understand how people can just all of a sudden root for a different team. Those teams are part of me forever. I will always hate the Lakers, Dodgers, Cowboys and Yankees. I fully support a complete boycott of the Warriors until their is an ownership change. It’s out of love. Tough love that is. The day their is an ownership change I’m booking my ticket back to SFO, hopping on bart and taking a walk with a ticket scalper. Yelling We Belive Again!!!!
