55 Million for Gordon is nice...
…but I bet he wishes he took that first offer from Chi-town…
I thought that first Bulls offer was 5/50? I don’t think Gordon is much of a bargain at 11 mil per at all. He doesn’t give you a whole lot more than scoring at all. Most of us hate the Maggette signing, but he’s probably a better player than Gordon. Gordon shoots the three very well, but not as well as Maggette gets to the line better. Maggette also rebound reasonably well for a 3, while Gordon doesnt rebound well at all for a 2, and his assist numbers are terrible if you play him as a 1. They are similarly efficient scorers. Gordon is a little bit younger than Maggette was at the time of the signing and he’s got a better history of health so I guess you could say that contract is probably slightly better, but I still don’t really like the move.
Thing A
I didn't remember what the Bulls offer was...
…I thought it was 5/60, so I guess he got more, and it’s not the total burn I thought it was. Still he way overvalued his worth. I also don’t like the move, but I do think that in combination with the Villenueva signing, they will be better than they were last year, and in the East, could possibly move to a 4th or 5th seed. Of course that depends on what other moves they make. I had the impression that Dumars was a relativley competent team president (Darko Milicic is the one bad move that comes to mind), and I think he’s looking to make a bigger move. I don’t think he’ll be able to, but we’ll see.
Impressive. Looks like the East is gonna be as strong as the West next year
Well Riley your honeymoon is ending soon. Better pull the trigger on something more than dumping Crawfish.

To me, the eight playoff teams in the Eastern Conference look like to be the same eight from last season except the Wizards will bump off somebody. I think that “somebody” could still be the Pistons or maybe even the 76ers.

Weird
Detroit’s offseason certainly isn’t over. I’m really confused about their lineup; does Gordon play PG? Do they bring him off the bench like in Chicago, even with a $10m/yr salary? (Not unlike Maggs….)
No, something else is going down. I think Rip Hamilton’s on his way out, maybe for a center. Rip for Okafor sounds realistic.
haha
Detroit has the highest unemployment rate in the country, yet the Pistons have the most cap room in the NBA.
It is the shoes!!!
