"Nellie is a great coach and stuff and I've learned a lot from him this past year and a half... I think I came to one of the best teams in the league as far as having great coaching staff and veterans on the team... I was very fortunate to come to the Warriors."

YES

That makes me happy. That was how I figured our organization was. Jack and Turiaf are awesome teammates, it appears. Also, Nellie is the most experienced coach in the league and is widely considered a “player coach.” I think Curry and Morrow are going to be very happy here as well.

HOORAY to saying all the right things. Thanks for quoting the interview and not subjecting me to hearing barbieri profess his love to Amici’s craptastic pizza. I miss roundtable!! /dallas

If He's Happy I'm Happy

This guy is the future of this team..He is the one player on this franchise who could actually become our first all star since choker Sprewell..If he keeps putting on weight naturally, this guy will be the best player this franchise has had since Rick Barry and Nate Thurmond..

He is an absolute stud and the fact that he fell to us last year and Curry fell to us this year, the Warriors terrible karma might be turning around a little..

If we could only now get rid of the weasel Rowell and Cohan would sell to Oracle, we would be really moving in the right direction

ya its funny cause everybody around the league seems to think our front office is a huge mess right now just because of how we treated Mullin. We treated Mullin horribly but maybe it was for the good because so far I like Riley A lot. And our last 2 draft picks have been the best first round picks the warriors have had in 15 years. Were on the rise, all what needs to be done is Cohan to sell.

by FeartheBeard4 on Jul 13, 2009 1:18 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

The fact that...

…you like Riley doesn’t bear any relevance to how Mullin was treated. The issue with Mullin’s dismissal isn’t so much that it occurred, and it has nothing to do with whether you think he was a good/mediocre/bad GM. His competence aside, he’s a very well liked man throughout the NBA, while Cohan and Rowell are not. Consequently, the bewildering way they dragged him along through what was obviously a lame-duck season, combined with the fact that there was no clear chain of command last year as to who was calling the shots on roster matters… it really hurts an already abysmal organizational reputation. I don’t honestly think prospective agents and management folk care so much about the Warriors having been bad for this stretch of time, because that’s an obvious problem that cn be fixed. Job security, respect, and professionalism in the front office, though, is quite another matter.

Larry Riley and Larry Harris

But I don’t think that Harris is an assistant coach anymore.

Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell? Oh no hide the children!

What else is the guy gonna say?

Look, most of these guys aren’t complete idiots when it comes to PR.

I’m not saying Randolph is lying, but unless he was demanding a trade, what possible good would come from him saying that he thinks he was used poorly for the first half of his rookie year?

I hope he’s telling the truth. I just don’t think it means very much.

Look, most of these guys aren’t complete idiots when it comes to PR.?

But they apparently are when it comes to math? “I think I came to one of the best teams in the league as far as having great coaching staff and veterans on the team… I was very fortunate to come to the Warriors.”
Does Rudolf KNOW where the team was in the standings?

Do I hear

the next Lamar Odom? Even GREATER than Odom? A more defensive Odom? Oh man, I have high expectations for this guy. Only 19 or 20? Man, he’s got a WHOOOOLE decade or even decadessssssss to become a great player. excitement is running through my blood!

by justinleagueheroes on Jul 13, 2009 10:23 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Odom vs. Randolph

Odom has always been smooth and in control, but lacked killer instict to be consistent.

Randolph has killer instinct for days, but no so smooth or in control – but working on it.

Right now Odom is the better player.

If Randolph smooths his game out, he will meet the expectations that has failed to meet the past 10 years.

Randolph tries to model his game more after KG, though there are similarities between his game and Odom’s.

Better than LBJ, no shot.

I just hope he turns into a poor mans KG. But I actually do think he has the potential to be as good or better than KG.
