Why the Hail Not?

So I guess there are some pragmatic derelicts insisting that the exact amount of 370 thousand one hundred  37 Warrior fans need to calm down with all the Anthony Randolph hype because of the so called, “It’s only Summer League with a bunch of no name cats or scrubs trying to make the big leagues.” I guess some would rather go about it on a practical mindset and a “wait and see until the season even starts” mentality.

Didn’t we get overly excited over AR last summer league? Didn’t we go bonkers over Anthony Morrow with his 70% 3PT shooting? So why in the flying hail can’t we get excited over AR now?

AR is about to enter his second season, so why the hail not?

Sure, some of you folks make a solid point that he is droppin these numbers in “summer league” and not against the elite NBA players.

Let’s run back to his Rookie Season when some people weren’t impressed with him until the later second half of the season came around.

In 25 minutes of play against the Houston Rockets and Yao Ming on December 5, 2008 he scored 12 points in 6-8 shooting.  Some people weren’t impressed.

I was.

I appreciated the fire and desire he had after that monster dunk on Yao. The beast was released and could have possibly initiated the establishment of AR as a Triple S. “Superstar Stud Status.”

The next meeting against Yao and the Rockets, what does he do? He records: 15 points. 10 boards. 3 blocks.

Some people still weren’t impressed.  Why the hail not?

Do you folks recall in 14 minutes of play he almost recorded a Double- Double vs. the Portland Trailblazers on Feb. 12? 9 Points. 10 Rebounds.  I did say in 14 minutes of play right?  Respect that.

Do you folks recall the very next game against the Lakes on Feb. 18 he recorded  14 points and 12 boards in 27 minutes of play?

Do you folks recall his stats of 13 points. 9 rebounds. and 5 blocks against Tim Duncan and the Spurs? How about 24 points. 16 boards. 4 steals. Ya it was a blow out. But so what who cares.

44 minutes of play with those stats just shows you he just don’t quit.

42 points in the summer league yesterday. No big deal right?

It still happened...

and the numbers I just blabbered about from last season has proven he belongs in the NBA against proven NBA players.

370,137 Warrior fans aren’t supposed to get overly excited about what AR’s doing?

Why the hail not?

“Yo AR! You’re going to be better than Lebron James!”

Happy Birthday yo. I guess you and Jemario Davidson are my best friends now since I got to hang out with you folks for exactly 37 minutes.

Go Warriors still. So what.

Romes, man

Not to be a total dweeb, but seeing as how this is the second new Randolph fanpost in the past couple hours…

In honor of his 20th birthday (yup, a teenager no longer — in another year he can legally drink) I thought it might be appropriate to consolidate all our current hopes, predictions, speculation, dreams, praise, poetic descriptions etc. for this kid into one diary.

Link.

I really don’t care that it’s in “my” diary or someone else’s, but there’s no reason we can’t try to keep similar topics together. It makes discussion a lot easier.

There will be no extra point!

Waddup Sleepy.

No worries yo. I got ya. I saw your post but didn’t get to fully read it.

My bad for droppin a repetitive type post. I was going to reply to someone’s comment, but I got inspired to blabber a strong opinion on a post about it being okay to be excited over AR.

My apologies and if the mods delete my post its cool.

I’ll just go cry to my mommy and tell her what GSoM has done to me.

lol jk. that was just dumb.

No worries, Romes. I know you march to your own drumbeat. I’ll allow a special dispensation, for you only. ;-)

Haha.

“Romes. I know you march to your own drumbeat.”

That was sick! and well put. I’m just a weirdo.

Thanks for the special dispensation. Much appreciated Sleepy.

Word.

I would think the amount 370,137 Warrior fans isn’t enough thats going bonkers.

I think the total has gone a trillion world-wide just from his 42 point performance?

Don’t ya think?

haha. it kinda was. and another GSoM head.

It’s all good though man. And I didn’t want to put you on blast.

We all have different opinions but that’s what makes it all interesting.

I see your point of view that you like what AR has been doing but I’m sure you would rather see him drop these type of stats and play the way he has been playing on a consistent basis for a whole full season as a Golden State Warrior starter before you get all Anthony Randolph ballistic.

I’m just going AR Bonkers right now like I did last season when he CRUSHED on Yao and ROARED at him.

By the way, in your ID name…does Barry stand for Rick Barry? or Barry Bonds? or something else? Just curious.

It’s Bonds. I made it over at the Giants site, didn’t really intend to join any other blog sites but…hey, being bored at work will cause a person to do lots of crazy stuff.

By the way, in the future you can feel free to call me out by name, doesn’t bother me at all…

by Missing Barry on Jul 17, 2009 9:41 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

oh okay. gotcha.

I do miss watching Barry too.

Pablo has been dope to watch tho. Straight up Stud.

Cool that you don’t take online comments to the dome. I should have just replied to your comment.

Go warriors man!

Word yo!

Didn’t he have 3 monster dunks or something?

I didnt get to watch the game but I caught the highlights on the news. Larry Beil was the sportscaster and he was like “Anthony Randolph is really growing up before our eyes. He scored 42 points in tonight’s summer league”.

I went nutzoid! I was just like…’Whaaaaaatt???!!?"

You see that alley oop dunk from Stephen Curry? Holllyy crap!

SHELLS LGW!(still)

How ya been? Missed out on the Open Threads for all the summer league games. Sucks.

I heard about A-Mo topping AR’s 42 point night. He freggin scored 47 points?!!

Holy high hail of praise! A-MO! A-MO!

By the way, I read one of the AR42 Open Threads a couple days ago when RunNdGun posted “37!”.

and then you said. “Romes?” (or something to that effect)

Pwah! I was hella crackin up. Thanks for the shot out<3

and by the way also, what does RMC stand for? I swear you are the GSoM acronym queen.

(end of blabbering.)

LGW…still.

Just a small randolph comment

I do believe this guy will be an all star in a few years, but lets not get carried away. He is going against college players which just proves, mullin made a steal of a pick. he would probably have been #2 pick this year… possibly #1. But once we get back to the real NBA, duncan, odom, gasol, amare, dirk hell… kmart, millsap, boozer, bwallace consistantly… and the list goes on and on and on. If he gives us a double double next year i’ll be thrilled…

"Yo AR! You’re going to be better than Lebron James!"

  That’s why the hell not.

42 points makes him ,what ? 5 points better than the great MarcoBellyNelly?

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

by Skeptic con Urquell on Jul 15, 2009 9:18 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

he had ZERO turnovers.

I’m rather impressed on that than his 42 points. (though that was also nice to see)

by Shells on Jul 15, 2009 9:32 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

that was also nice to see

Haha, Did you really see it or just hear about it? I woulda thought you have better things to do than watch summer league :>)
The important things are…Did he stay on his feet? How many fouls and bareback ride assaults did he have?

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them

by Skeptic con Urquell on Jul 15, 2009 9:56 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

On the plus side

He seems to have graduated from “puppyf*cking” opponents to “bareback ride assaulting” them…

There will be no extra point!

Yeah

  Stickboy is becoming a stickman

Not always a good thing to “stay on your feet”. Sometime sure, but that is often how ankles get turned out. Think of Iverson allways on the floor and how many consistant games he’s played.

I wonder if players in the NBA are taught how to fall correctly. If not they probably should be.

FYI

I witness the game. Except the first 8 minutes of the 3rd (I think) Q where there was a lovely interview with Stern….

Haha, doesn’t one “witness” a disaster? So what did you do for those 8 minutes? Snacks??

how u been bro?

I’m 37 times more hype for the season to start after reading your post.
Now looks looks Morrow is 5 points better than Rudolf? What we gonna do about that? How we gonna make it fair for the other teams??

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?

Hell ya man!

I am straight up going insane like the whole Warrior World-wide cuz the NBA season just isn’t coming by our ways fast enough.

WE ARE GOING TO DESTROY ANY TEAM TRYNA GET IN OUR WAY.
