hmm

1) Curry.. needs to prove himself at the NBA level.. which wasn’t shown in SL

2) Air France, POB (to a certain extent… why is he on a team?), Arenas – dude was pretty raw before he left.. it’s not like he just got good once he left,

Easy...

1) Curry, some people say if he plays well Monta should be shipped. That is crazy Ellis is a cornerstone of this team and Curry has not even played yet.

2)Marco, people over at the Raptors blog are assuming he will be there starter…. Really?

Oh I got a good one

It seems like everybody’s in love with Kelenna Azubuike. But I still don’t buy that he should be getting 31mpg or even be a starter in this league.

The story of how he got to where he is and all the work he’s put in sure is inspirational. And he’s not a bad player either. But if you look at the cold hard facts, he’s no better than our old friend, Mickael Pietrus, who we were all too eager to say goodbye too.

If Azubuike was a lottery pick, he wouldn’t be getting so much love as he is now. We were all wowed when he came onto the scene and exceeded our expectations as a D-League call-up.

The truth is that he and Pietrus are almost identical for their careers in TS%, rebounding, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers (!) and points. I would also argue that Pietrus is more athletic, faster, longer, and plays better defense.

But whenever Pietrus messed up, we were quick to jump on him because he was our 11th pick. But whenever Azubuike messes up, we say “aw it’s alright he came from the D-League, what can you expect? Hey, look at his shooting percentage and biceps!”

He’s still a dude that can’t create offense for himself consistently, still relies on others to create open looks for him, doesn’t get to the free throw line enough (passive), doesn’t/can’t set anybody else up to score, and isn’t great on the defensive end either. For an NBA shooting guard, that just doesn’t cut it. He’s a backup at best. Not a 30+ mpg player.

I see where your coming from

And it’s a good argument but you forgot one thing, three point shooting. Buike is a top five three point shooter on the league.

P.S. How can you say Pietrus was stronger? I mean look at buike’s biceps! Lol

Buike has a great 3pt shooting percentage. If he’s open, he’s going to sink it.

But he doesn’t shoot a whole bunch of 3’s either. He takes them when he’s wide open, basically. His high 3pt% is a merit of good shot selection, but it doesn’t put his stroke up there with guys like Ray Allen (and potentially Morrow) who can just pull up behind the arc and just drain it.

Curry has not played one single NBA game, you cannot even consider him overrated, atleast wait til March to decide that.

Stephen Jackson is actually underrated, taken as a backup SF in most fantasy leagues. He averaged 21-6-7 last season.

Statistically Andris Beidrins is overrated, but in reality what he brings to the team cannot be overstated.

Corey Maggette is way overrated, his salary is just stupid, his fantasy value going into last season was just plain idiotic.

Monte Ellis averaged 21 ppg and shot over 53 pct in 2007-2008, was injured all of last season, so i would say he isn’t even in this argument. If healthy the dude is a straight up baller.

Anthony Morrow is probably the most underated player in the NBA this side of Brandon Roy. As a rookie FA all he did was light it up, play a good game and demand attention as a rookie.

No one even mentioned Anthony Randolph as being anything, and now he may be a part of the USA National Team. Enough said!!!!

Considering Azabuke’s PER on ESPN’s trade machine and the actual value we would receive in return if traded, i would say he is overrated, but a damn good player

Former Players

Gilbert Arenas: Missed 2/3 of the Wizards games the last 3 season while earning 21 million!!! WOW WOW WOW

Antawn Jamison: Making 17 million per and cannot even be the #1 option on a 26 win team!

Baron Davis: I don’t even think his season with LAC even deserves a response

Mike Dunleavy: LOL LOL LOL LOL Seriously?

Troy Murphy: solid 10-10 guy but for 12 million per?

Ike Diogu: Mid Level Exception(1.2 million) Veterans minimum in first FA season!

Jason Richardson: Still have his jersey, i like this player. But 13 million per?

Erick Dampier: Really do i have to say anything more?

Skeptics say our players get better when they move on. But really?

That wasn't a fantasy article.

Stephen Jackson is severely overrated for someone who needed 17 shots per game to score 20 per. I loved where he referred to Jackson’s D as “imaginary.” It’s true. Stephen Jackson plays defense in the imaginations of GSoMers only.

Actually without going 35 million over the cap we could not have Arenas, Jamison, Davis, Dunleavy, Murphy, Diogu, Richardson and Dampier. And really would that roster be any better then what we currently have? Considering Baron Davis and Gilbert Arenas would miss about 30 games each to injury? Diogu is a scrub and Dampier is a stiff!!

Wow

this guy lays the hammer down but to say chris paul is overrated is pure nonsense. He also slams a bunch of other people who dont deserve it and really destroyed Jackson there.

Yeah definitely, CP ain't overrated.

What I thought was funny was his dishonarable mention, he put in Wally Szczerbiak, What!?! Szczerbiak is not overrated. Szczerbiak is just garbage.

It was the shoes!!

“In other words, it is well-known among the league’s coaches that Garnett is a frontrunner who will inevitably choke when a critical game is up for grabs.”

Really? I mean….really? Who is this guy? This guy is all over the place, a couple of hits, a couple of huge misses (Paul, Garnett). Then one that just confuses me. Since when did anyone think of Chris Andersen as anything but an alright backup? He also made him sound like Jamal Crawford out there on D, every time I’ve seen him he’s been a decent on ball defender.
