It looks like NBA Live is moving away from old style "spreadsheet ratings" and more towards using play-by-play data to accurately simulate a player's tendencies. This looks awesome not just from a gameplay point-of-view, but also as a tool for researching players. Also, those numbers will be getting updated on a regular basis as the season progresses, which should be pretty cool to see as well. Too bad that NBA 2K is generally the better series if you want to actually play basketball in video game form.
