Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

I think it works pretty well for everyone.Utah gets alot of expiring deals and there wing scorer, we get two good defenders. One on the wing and one down low and a passer in AK47. Detroit even though it says minus 5 actually gets a solid deal.

As an alternate deal (which is much more unlikely)

Ariza probably is not enough to help houston replace Yao’s scoring so Maggs could help.Toronto may take a chance on Wright if Bosh leaves they can mold him into a a younger version of him. And we get a post defender and a wing defender and Cook is just there to make contracts work.

The Rockets would be fools to make that trade. If you want a great offense, get an all around great offensive player. Maggette is one-dimensional and has a horrible contract. I’d sell my soul to get rid of Maggette and get Battier back. You’d have to throw in Anthony Randolph for them to make that trade.

I hate those normal-sized midgets. What are they called again? Oh, yeah. People.

By the way, the Pistons would not benefit in the slightest from this trade. They would never do it.

woah.

PG: Monta Ellis / Stephen Curry
SG: Stephen Jackson / Anthony Morrow
SF: Andrei Kirilenko / Kelenna Azubuike
PF: Anthony Randolph / Jason Maxiell
C: Andris Biedrins / Ronny Turiaf

That's a playoff squad.

Top 5 seed maybe?

7th or 8th seed

yeah

The thing that shocks me is that this Warriors team actually looks like a team that’s actually capable of playing defense, while still keeping their quickness, athleticism, versatility and scoring.

That would be scary, the Warriors can score AND play defense? lol. The only question mark is if Randolph will have good post defense, but other than that the Warriors have a ton of length and athleticism to grab a lot of rebounds and blocks. Especially with a 6’8" guy at shooting guard, although it might cause some problems with turnovers.

once again

whats the fascination with Maxiel? Why would we want him instead of Wright?

It's all about his defense in the post.

He can stop Dwight Howard, enough said. What’s the fascination with a skinny, bad rebounding, power forward? Maxiell is probably just as athletic or maybe even more athletic.

Wright isnt’ a bad rebounder.

I would take Maxiel in a Wright trade but only for Maxiel and some change. Wright is definitely a better trade commodity. Still, for our team, Maxiel can play a role that Wright can’t, which is to defend real bigs. That’d be valuable for us.

the pistons

totally get the shaft on this deal

+1

You people that propose these trades gotta stop looking at it from JUST the Warriors angle. Of course it benefits us, but why would the Pistons even consider this when they don’t get anything back? For a trade to go through, ALL PARTIES must agree to it and cannot be too lopsided, unless you’re trading Pau Gasol to the Lakers…

I think Utah gets a solid deal.

But Detroit does get a bad deal unless maybe a draft pick was thrown in on either side. But bigger rip offs have happened.

I don't see the reasoning for a three way deal.

I prefer to do a trade with the Jazz and get Kirilenko for Maggette and others, then roll that out for 2009-2010. I think that would make us better. Not a fan of Maxiell.

by SuperStarAR on Aug 26, 2009 10:12 AM PDT reply actions

Maggette is a huge rip off for the Jazz. We’d really have to throw in some valuable stuff to make it worth their while. Granted Kirilenko is costly, but we pay him for only two years, and he makes our team a lot better. I don’t see the Jazz going for that, unless Maggette gets injured and insurance kicks in and on top of that we throw in Wright and maybe Morrow or Curry.
