The Warriors officially have a 15 man roster

Well, we just signed a Mikki Moore to a one year vet min deal.  That, coupled with CJ Watson taking the one year QO deal, brings our roster to the official 15 man max; all of whom have guaranteed contracts.

Star-divide

The biggest problem with this scenario is we haven't started training camp yet.  Although it isn't desirable to fish for talent out of undrafted walk-ons and d-leaguers, we've found a tremendous amount of gems in the rough such as Buike, Watson, Morrow, Barnes and to a lesser extent, Rob Kurz.  All of these players were given chances during the season and we were able to take advantage of that.

In the event that we do find a player worthy enough to sign to a contract during the season, who would you wanna see dropped from the roster?

That's a good question

I’d buy out either Law or Speedy. I’d keep Devean George because we could always use some backup size and defense, as he claims that he has a more defensive mindset. We just signed Moore, so how dumb would we be to dump him so soon? Er, don’t answer that. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, Speedy.

Dude back when I was in school my best friend ate NINE in a minute with no water, pretty intense. Also try to eat a tablespoon full of cinnamon, it’s impossible.

heard that one from a friend, that cinnamon thing...

Still wondering if that’s true.

Claxton, George and Law would be cut if it was up to me.

by Missing Barry on Aug 31, 2009 8:38 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

but then we can’t trade their contracts

Thing A

by sam23 on Sep 1, 2009 9:14 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Is that true? I was under the impression we can do something to get around that, though I guess if we cut them and they signed with someone else it wouldn’t make sense for us to be able to trade them.

by Missing Barry on Sep 1, 2009 9:43 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'd cut Law and Claxton, they're not gonna be an important part to this team...

I would keep George because he’s an average veteran defender for cheap and Mikki Moore for pretty much the same reason.

omg

why isint the poll 100% george. why????

by Butt Secks on Aug 31, 2009 8:44 PM PDT reply actions   1 recs

i pick Claxton

Got to keep George, he bring his experience, and not only that losing belli for George, means he better contribute in some way, because i believe in belli future.

Acie Law is still young, he still has a chance to become a great bball player. Even tho we have lots of guards , having Acie Law here will push other guards to work harder for minutes. And with competition, there will be stand outs. So lets see and let the best of best stay.

Claxton, is useless i have no more to say.

Why exactly are people advocating keeping Devean George? You realize he’s arguably the worst player in the NBA, right? I’m not making this up nor exaggerating, the only possible way he can contribute is defense and even then he was never outstanding to begin with and now he’s old.

Just to put things in perspective, last season he averaged the following per 36 minutes:
4.0 rebounds, .8 assists, 7.5 points, 1.2 steals, .6 blocks. He also had a TS% of .485, which is actually higher than his career .480 TS%. I cannot stress this enough – Devean George is not good enough to play in the NBA right now.

Unfortunate for Cohan’s wallet, but it doesn’t affect the cap at all, a buyout is essentially the same as cutting them for cap purposes but the owner just pays less.

Umm

Arent they still good trade pieces? If so then no I wouldnt cut any of them

by goaldenstateboy on Aug 31, 2009 9:13 PM PDT reply actions   1 recs

Devean George

Speedy could be used as a good trade piece to accompany Stephen on his way out to more championships.

You know, something we mistake playoffs for.

My guess is that the Moore signing is a preamble to a trade.

I’m thinking they’re going to balance the Jax contract with Wright.

We directly said we want 5 big men. I don’t know if we will or won’t trade Wright, but signing Moore has nothing to do with that decision. We needed another big in either situation.

by Missing Barry on Sep 1, 2009 7:24 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’m expecting the trade to be for a or to include a serviceable big. Biedrins/Turiaf/Moore/AR + the person we may trade for equals 5.

Well then you just expect us to trade Wright. Like I said, the Moore signing has nothing to do with that decision. We’d be trading Wright whether we signed him or not.

Yep.....I have similar thoughts...

Jackson with Speedy and Wright…. for something decent?

Were not cutting anyone, we will be trading at least 2 for 1 and quite possibility more for 1.

15 man roster right now means nothing.

There's a party in my mind.
And I wish that I was there.

Trade the whole damn team!!!

Just do it. Incept keep monta,AB, and Randolph. and maybe curry or morrow. But other than that start over and build around these 4!!!!

I’d say Curry is, too. How badly does this team need some good passing?

Am I the only one..

who would like to see Cartier Martin on the team next year. I know its random but i was just wondering if anyone besides myself thought he would be a decent player to have?

He already signed with a Euro team.
