I'm through describing his deficiencies as eccentricites!

Let’s just call a spade a spade: Stephen Jackson is an idiot, and when stupid people are rewarded with large monetary gifts despite their inadequacy, they will inevitably take them for granted. I for one will be booing him loudly and repeatedly on TV and in person throughout the upcoming season until his he is gone.

don't watch court/cop show's. they're propaganda designed legitimize the criminal justice system, which is a factory that produces commodities for the privatized prison industry.

I think irony may have a crush on you . . .

You realized don’t you that the TV is one way communication? SJax can’t hear you.

Standing on the moon
Where talk is cheap and vision true
Standing on the moon
But I would rather be with you
Somewhere in San Francisco
On a back porch in July
Just looking up to heaven

Wow.

Can’t get one by you! Shrewd! That’s what you are…(grumbling about cliche reference to irony)

Are you fishing for “a large monetary gift”?

reminder: nelson made harrington a captain into last season in the wake of harrington’s trade requests

harrington was a cancer

he complained about every position he played. Atleast Jackson doesn’t complain if he’s asked to guard post or play point. He just wants to play and win. I can handle mistakes out of effort much more than sulking cause he doesnt want to be a 4 or 5.

Its Harrington’s own fault, no coach could have gotten more out of him. Nellie even said he saw star potential in Harrington but he just couldnt or wouldnt do what he was asked to… you know, REBOUND. Cause otherwise he has body to play PF and be a mismatch nightmare.

I'm not saying DONT TRADE JACK

I’m saying his frustration is out of warriors taking a step backwards. If we make a move for a player who can make us playoff competitive (Cause honestly this roster isnt playoff competitive next year) I doubt we hear a single complaint.

But the question as management is… is it worth trading a 23 year old productive center, who could form a top teir front court w/ Randolph in a couple years. and considering your other prize peices are 23 (monta) and 21 (Curry) is it worth it??

by tafkasam on Sep 14, 2009 8:55 PM PDT up reply actions

Harrington...

…had a perfectly sufficient record of being a poor rebounder when we got him. Having Don Nelson yell at you isn’t going to make you snag and extra two or three boards a game, and I’m pretty sure Nelson knows that.

Nellie even said he saw star potential in Harrington but he just couldnt or wouldnt do what he was asked to…

If what’s being asked is to better perform an athletic task you’re not very good at (as everybody knew when we traded for him), I might classify tht as more an unrealistic expectation that some failure of spirit.

Jack is all we got

I can’t think of another starter on our team who can really be a leader. Monta isn’t a natural leader, nor is Biedrins. Randolph is too young and Maggette is too selfish.

Can't

really a whole team by example. I love him to death, but he is much more a mentor than a leader.

Turiaf

was made a co-capt. last season, and obviously a good choice. All three (the other was Biedrins) were none other than the players who most consistently played defense.

Jack is not a "Natural Leader"

That role was ascribed to him by the organization when Baron left.

Then he used that as leverage to get his contract extension. Only to demand a trade months later.

Meanwhile last year was full of locker room tantrums and awkwardness such as Crawford’s (“Golden State Jacksons”) comment. Oh I almost forgot all of the technical fouls.

It seems that discipline and accountability our two of Jackson’s biggest short sides as a leader.

It’s pretty clear that while Jackson has some leadership abilities he is not a “natural leader.” He’s great behind the leader of a team. Some other poster described it best:

He’s fine as the heart of a team, but he can’t be the head and he certainly can’t be both.

-Wish I remembered where I read that so I could give credit where it is due.

Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell? Oh no hide the children!
