Did you renew your season tickets?

The Flights of Fancy post got me thinking...we have a lot of season ticket holders here either as occassional readers or active posters.  We have had innumerable discussions on the Front Office, Team, Treatment of Season Ticket Holders, Future of our Players, etc...and the consensus seems to be negative, or hopeful with no trust in the organization.

I am extremely interested to know how many renewed their season tickets and why if you are inclined to respond.

I was really on the fence about buying season tickets last year and decided not to because the product really doesnt warrant the expense when I can see the games on TV in high def.  This year I am very excited about seeing our young players, but have even less faith that the club is going in the right direction with the failed attempts to lure in a big name player to anchor the young team.  Another year, same old same old.

I truly bleed Warriors blood, but in this economy there are too many other things above season tickets on my priority list.

I didn't renew

If they signed someone big over the summer I would have but last year was a complete mess and it was the worst investment I’ve ever done my whole life.

I voted for my friend who doesn't post, but takes me to games sometimes.

He didn’t renew 2 of the 4 seats they had. So he downsized.

Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell? Oh no hide the children!

I get the NBA package just so I can see Warrior games. Does that count?

renewed

Just hearing the name ‘Warriors’ reminds me of childhood evenings when I raced thru my homework so that I could join my dad in the garage to listen to Bill King over the power tools. It’s in my blood. Being at the Oracle with friends is better than the best sports bar. (Though the drinks are a bit steep.) I like my seats. They’ll get it together one of these years. Though, that doesn’t mean I’m happy with many of their decisions. But I like basketball and I’m not just going to become a Lakers fan.

SAME HERE

You took the words right out of my fingers! Hate them or love them for not having a star or being a bad organization! They’re my home team and unless they move, I’m gonna be a Warriors fan!

I like where I’m at too, and I’m not just gonna give up my seats right now because they’re not as good as the Lakers or Celtics, and then if..no when they get good try and get season tickets again! There’s ways of not paying for the whole thing. I’m splitting them this year for the first time. You can also sell them or donate them if you want.

Geeez Louf*ckingweeez!!!

So why aren’t you listening to Bob and Jim over power tools nowdays?

so far at least 12 people who have no right to call Robert Rowell a sucker who got duped by Stephen Jackson or anything to that affect.

no

but we can call him a poor representative for our team.

If you think boycotting games is a good way for me to show displeasure, be consistent and don’t watch any games on TV. And don’t let me catch you buying any tickets this year. LOL

boycott? all i’m saying is you all got duped by Rowell. saying “i’m not going to be fooled by ’it’s a great time out’ or ‘we believe’ or whatever slogan they’re running these days b/c i know all to well that it’s not a smart decision” doesn’t have to mean you’re going to the other extreme of boycotting.

anyway, i live in Irvine, so i can’t watch them through FSN (though difference is, obviously you don’t have to spend money to watch it via TV and (correct me if i’m wrong, but i believe) the advertisers pay FSN not Cohan, FSN has already paid for the broadcasting rights no matter what the ratings).

actually since ‘96 (outside of the ’06-07 season when i lived in san bruno) i actually haven’t been in the bay area b/c i was living in Japan, then i was in college, then my job. caught games last 2 yrs via my housemates league pass, but he’s not a Warriors fan.

I livein NY so i can't LOL

but i probably will be getting NBA league pass so i can watch all our games this year. Very excited about our young guys.

RENEWED

The Warriors Account Executives handled me greatly last year (probably due to some of the stories they’ve seen me write here). But I’ll be in the SAME SEATS. I get great value… so maybe I’ll offer some of my tickets as contests this season? Keep an eye out.

Renewed all the way! Say what you want but man they

play the most entertaining games in the league. Ya they had a bad record last year, but so would the Lakers if they were missing 5 of their best players for most of the year!
Most entertaining team in the NBA!

yes

It took me a while to decide, but I did renew…in fact upgraded my seats. I mainly did it for the long run, because I did not want to give up my seats. I’m only doing half a season this time though with a friend, so I’m actually not spending as much as last season, even though I have way better seats now.

I renewed

Might be my last year though. It was my goal to be a STH for the rest of my life, but reality has set in and I now have rent to pay for the 1st time in my 30 years of being alive.

Yes, I renewed

However, I’m sharing with someone a 1/2 season. I still love my Warriors and will try to get out to Oracle as much as I can.

Just wondering, cause I haven’t received mine yet.

still waiting too

I figure it will come when the tickets arrive, which should be towards the middle of this month.

by bObaBaLLa on Sep 2, 2009 10:52 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Please don't

All of you that have been complaining about Cohan and that he needs to sell the team….this is where it starts, Cohan is all about money and will never sell a team that’s bringing revenue. As true and loyal warrior fans, we need to stop this, we’re getting abused here…..every year is a rebuilding year in Golden State. Personally, Warriors is what I think about all day every day, I can’t go on for more than 2 hours without checking some news about the Warriors and I still haven’t given up on being a Warrior fan, Anthony Randolph is keeping my hopes higher than ever but as far as supporting a disloyal owner who takes the fans for granted, I refuse to do that and I’ll wait till he sells the team to purchase season tickets and same with my friends and family…

I want to renew,

but at the price + disillusionment with the team its just so hard to make the investment.

by tafkasam on Sep 2, 2009 9:32 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I would like to buy season tickets

but I need the money for something else. But going to the games or watching it on TV once in awhile is AOK for now I guess.

this got posted int he wrong place somehow so...

I was curious about buying in then trying to sell off most games despite the B.S.
but I have to admit I am nervous about not being able to sell the tickets.

Does anyone in here have lower bowl seats that they have not been able to resell?

by warriorsvictim on Sep 3, 2009 9:48 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I just got season tickets this year

and have had trouble trying to sell them, I’m trying all avenues now, I recenly called my ticket representative and told them if they trade Monta I will not be renewing next season.

It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

I bought season tickets for the first time this year

because a friend of mine was supposed to half the tickets with me. He chickend out on the commitment but I decided to just go for it. I went to 12 games last year, 10 were hella exciting and we won 8. The Warriors are the most exciting team in the NBA, they are great home team and they were banged up all of last year. I guess what all I’m trying to say is WHOOOOOO GO WARRIORS!!!

by VERY VERY BUSY on Sep 3, 2009 10:04 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I did not renew!!!

They are still calling me to renew, I am waiting to see if they sign Ramon Sessions…..Please , Please, pretty please…. and to see if they make a blockbuster trade with our expirings, or even a trade for more young prospects…. just need something from front office to show they are moving in right direction… I have courtside club seats but at that price I need to see moves in right direction…

by warriorbum on Sep 3, 2009 1:48 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I renewed

Can’t wait for the season to start. And I don’t care who owns the team, just as long as the NBA doesn’t move out of the Bay Area.

A Sonics fan without a team... but after 6 seasons now of GS Warriors season tickets have convinced me to adopt the boys from Oakland.

Despite best efforts of Senior Season Ticket Rep....

I have NOT renewed and it makes me sad to say so. But as small of aprotest as it may be…. refuse to help pay for the FO’s salaries.

ALL TALK… NO ACTION…..

Here are some examples….
“You got screwed” – No genuine offer from the FO to make ammends for that crass gaff!

Crap service at the Oracle – A great time out…I think not, a whole quarter to get served a freakin hot dog… FO’s response.. “it’s not our fault…the arena is in charge of all of this… we simply pay a lease….”…. NEWSFLASH…refuse to pay the lease, call the contract null and void unless they improve services…yet you want US to continue to pay for crap service?

Mascot – get one…

STH Events – put someone competent in the role to give value to the STH’s… I have previously given numerous ideas how to improve this…

Pricing – This year’s pricing highlights how disgraceful last years pricing was

Stand By your statements – If your going to make DRASTIC changes….THEN MAKE THEM! otherwise stop spinning the BS!

Embrace support – If you STH’s prepared to offer their services free of charg to help improve the experience for fans…US THEIR SKILL SETS instead of sitting in your Ivory Tower….

The list cold go on and on….. The FO does not deserve this fanbase who love their Warriors more than the majority of NBA fans and their franchises…

BUT…. the lack of consideration of the very people that pay the BILLS of the club…is why I have not renewed….

IF I see a drastic change, then I may also change my mind….

It's about heart, It's about fight, It's about being a Warrior!

OH BTW......

See the announcement today……

Single Game Tickets now available for Lakers, Cavs, Boston..etc…..
THAT right there….tells me a HUGE amount about how many people have not renewed… also in the same announcement….

ALREADY….. they are promoting the $10 tickets!!!!!

I have a feeling it will be another season of people unable to get face value for their tickets when selling, so those of you savvy enough to recognise this may want to save your money, go to a few less games than planned, but buy MUCH better seats from STH’s eager to get what they can for their tickets of games they cannot make….

Scramble for the number 8 spot all over again…..

It's about heart, It's about fight, It's about being a Warrior!
