It infuriates me that he still thinks of Jack as our captain and leader. How can our floor leader not even want to be here?

Yeah, but I think I understand Nellie's position

If we can’t trade Jack, then Jack has to play for us. And it could potentially be demeaning to Jack and his morale to be “demoted” from captain to a regular player. What I hope Nellie meant is that Jack will be A captain and A leader, not THE captain and THE leader. That way, if and when Jack goes, there are other captains and leaders take over.

True, but even with Jack as a captain, as soon as we hit a losing streak he’s still going to start throwing some huge fits ON and off the court

I can't believe I'm going to rec a Tim Kawakami article

but the transcript was a really good read. Part 2, as well.

Sjax a 3

-NELSON: We’re not going to do that any more because of my draft pick. So now we’re just going to be small there. That’s what we’ll be. Jack will be a 3.

Ok, this implies monta is a 2 right now and someone else at the 1 (curry being the obvious choice, but he said who was the 1 was in the air). Or is there a trade for a real PG?

it could also imply that curry will see time at the 2 or that we’ll be seeing morrow a lot this year (he did mention that).

yeah

but will it mean more Maggette at the 4? Less Azubuike? Hope not.

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

he also talked about maggette at the 4, but my guess is that jack still sees some time at the 2. i think moving him to the 3 full time won’t prove to be the best way to get our best guys on the floor and nellie will give him some time at the off-guard before long.

I assume sjax (if he is around) would start as the 3

And monta probably 2 (since nellie talked all around him being the pg). So that leaves the 1 open, and we only have curry (if law starts with everyone healthy, I quit)

by mosdl on Sep 26, 2009 4:32 PM PDT up reply actions

we’ve got cj too.

i’d bet on monta starting at the 1 for the season opener, with morrow or buike being the 5th starter (but if buike’s out there, i’d say jack is the 2), but who knows? nellie loves his lineup tweaks.
