yeah...
I only caught the last few interviews, Wright, Randolph and Buike. Cool to see that Buike has a Protege shoe coming out, so if I want inexpensive basketball shoes I can now have one from a player that I like…

Yeah no thanks… Though the SJax ones are pretty awesome looking…
by samuraaaaiiiiiii on Sep 28, 2009 1:07 PM PDT up reply actions
Buike's really getting his own shoe?
How?
Seems like Protege has a lot of love for Warriors players.
by Precise Films Productions on Sep 28, 2009 2:18 PM PDT up reply actions
I read somewhere that Pietrus was gonna have a shoe too…

Seems like Protege has a lot of love for Warriors players.
Jackson and Harrington own the company, at least in part. They started it while they were on the Warriors with Buike and MP so it would make sense that they might involve some of their friends and teammates that might not be getting a more lucrative shoe deal.
Thing 2
Plus buike's stock is rising
Morrow should get a deal – call it the “3”
They have a shoe called “Trifecta” already. Probably the best looking one too…
by samuraaaaiiiiiii on Sep 28, 2009 4:09 PM PDT up reply actions
ohh i understand now
But it would be weird for just any random player to get their own shoe (Kelenna and Pietrus, not sure if non-Warriors fans would buy those), i’m so used to the great players with them. But this is a nice change, it shows that NBA Players are making their own products.
It would have been awesome if the We Believe team stayed together and made their own shoe. And then they’d make the Playoffs in 2008 and every player would be rocking the same brand, haha. That would be the first time in NBA history for an entire team to have their own shoe.

Thoughts on Mikki Moore?
From what I have heard….I am quite impressed with this guy…I believe he will help with the development of the younger guys..
It's about heart, It's about fight, It's about being a Warrior!
Most importantly...
It sounds like he’s genuinely happy to be here for developing the young guys.
by samuraaaaiiiiiii on Sep 28, 2009 1:54 PM PDT up reply actions
Yeah
Or else he wouldn’t have joined Golden State. He knows we have somewhat of a youth movement here and our young guys need PT.

look at him in that Warriors jersey.
It’s gonna be confusing watching Monta and Curry if they’re on the court together. They look so much alike.
“Why’d you pass it to Curry when you two were in the paint! You know he can’t score in hectic traffic that good!”
“But, I thought that was Monta who was in the paint!”.
-——
“Why’d you pass it to Monta when there was only 2 seconds left? You know he can’t shoot three’s!”
“I thought that was Steph out in the perimeter! I thought it was him that would make the game winning three!”

Jackson reiterated his trade demand during Media Day?!?
According to Yahoo! Sports, Jackson “unloaded his frustrations” with the Warriors during Media Day.
That’s awesome. Thanks Rowell! Can anyone who heard/saw this please fill us in??!
need to watch these jax and monta clips...
anyone know what recording / at what time in the ustream recording i can find em at?
LOL @ CJ Watson
Seeing Jim interview CJ about his future aspirations reminds me of students being asked that same question by their principals and teachers.
- Hmm, so Jim got the job by starting off as a replacement.
- CJ wants to be a sports broadcaster too. Wants to broadcast Warriors pre-game and post game segments.
- CJ took psychology in college.
- CJ wants to be a GM when he gets older. Wants to be the guys making trades and offering contracts.
- Holy crap, Davison is a small school. Only 1,700 students? That’s smaller than my High School (4,000+).

CJ again. Doesn't even know the name of the broadcasters.
“Sure, I can start right now. I can do pre-game commentary with you and pauses Bob Fitzpatrick”. hahaha.

oops, didn’t mean to put “pause” in bold. I meant to say that CJ paused before he said Bob’s name (cause he couldn’t remember it) and ended up saying the wrong last name.

I love this line
“Who’s going to turn down that money? I’m not stupid. I didn’t go to college but I’ve got a lot of common sense,” he said. “Even though I signed my extension, that doesn’t mean things can’t happen. Shaq got traded. Michael Jordan went to another team.”
Yes jack… you’re comparable to Shaq and Michael Jordan. [/sarcasm]

I loved his quotes today.
Just because he has the balls to say things that are 100% true according to him.
Warriors, Stupidest franchise in the league.
The Awesomeness That Is Captain Jack -
Jackson on wanting to be on a winner: "I’m made for the playoffs and the championships. I’m Big Shot Jack. That’s what I do."
Jackson on wanting out after extension: "Who’s going to turn down that money? I didn’t go to college, but I’ve got a lot of common sense."
you should read his transcript
Ego is the best word to describe him when I read it.
by IQofaWarrior on Sep 28, 2009 5:00 PM PDT up reply actions
Jack compared himself to Shaq, MJ
“Who’s going to turn down that money? I’m not stupid. I didn’t go to college but I’ve got a lot of common sense,” he said. “Even though I signed my extension, that doesn’t mean things can’t happen. Shaq got traded. Michael Jordan went to another team.”
Simply amazing. Nothing spells leadership like running your teammates under the bus.
It feels like we’re not getting better. It’s no disrespect to guys on the team. I love all the guys on the team and I’m not saying the job couldn’t get done with them, but at the same time I came into this game a winner and I want to continue to be a winner."
Glad you’ve been working out with Monta poisoning his attitude, Jack. He is the only one who thinks he’s a winner. Baron helped me? Ridiculous ego.
"We're Menudo," -BB
RE: Shaq & MJ
That quote is out of context… his next words are:
“I’m not even comparing myself to those guys. But anything can happen. At the same time, I’m not in control of that…”
by samuraaaaiiiiiii on Sep 28, 2009 8:00 PM PDT up reply actions
yeah
He just meant to say that even guys like Shaq and Michael Jordan ended up on different teams. Usually mediocre players get traded all the time, but even the biggest stars could end up on a different team.
by Precise Films Productions on Sep 28, 2009 8:40 PM PDT up reply actions
This is what you get Nellie for giving Jack 48 minutes a night, and letting him shoot whenever he touches the ball. He looks at his ppg/rpg/apg numbers and thinks he is a super-star.

Monte Ellis Another Piece Of Crap..I Hate This Loser
Now this spoiled piece of crap is saying he can’t play with Stephen Curry..He won’t give a reason, he just says it shouldn’t happen..Actually Rowell and Cohan deserve this piece of crap..
The Warriors how much fun are these losers?? All they do is complain and lose..Gee, aren’t they fun..
Blame Nelly
Chemistry goes south on Don Nelson every handful of years, and there isn’t anything anyone can do to stop it.
Between Jackson and Monta, the Warriors should maybe just try to purge all the bad mojo before things start up for real. Just wait for it, though — Nelly will fan the flames.
he actually did say why...
he said that you can’t have two guys on the floor play together like that because when the game slows down they’ll have difficulty gelling…
do honestly disagree with that…
i don’t think monta is saying it out of spite for curry…hes simply being realistic…i think he actually wants to win…go figure
"so much losers" - hiero
Monta is being totally realistic. We cannot win with that lineup. Our defense would give up many more points that we already do. Neither Monta or Curry can stop PG’s from penetrating into the rim, forcing our bigs off their guys, leaving others open to shoot or rebound. Monta is simply being a voice of reason.
I’m not really saying the lineup can never work, there are situations where it will succeed, but over all their weaknesses in defense are too similar to play together.
You know I spit technique to the freshest freak
Gimme a call you will see results in just a week
With the soul of a LOST HAWK
Is there a heaven for a Rap Cat, let's talk
yeah
it’s just the fact that Curry is another 6’3" guard. it’s realistic to think they can’t play together, but I bet Monta would be happy to play with him if Curry proves to be a great teammate.

Media Day
Isn’t media day normally when the players are introduced to the media and its supposed to be about how great the upcoming year is going to be??
When did it become a forum for the players to voice their displeasure with the team and the front office?? That is really what I meant..
Its just makes me mad that the players chose this forum to mouthoff..
I know they speak the truth, but maybe another time and place..
is going to be very, very painful
It can’t possibly be as bad as last year unless Montay’s new hobby is Skateboard Big Air Rail Jam?

I don't really think it will
It only seems like that because we don’t know what to expect.
Once the players get on the court, all they have to do is play ball. Everything else is put aside. They all want to win.
I can see us doing great this season if the team stays healthy. We get to start the season with Monta playing, unlike last season when he was out for 3 months. That alone is a big improvement, some people forget how good Monta really is.
We also got Anthony Randolph who could help carry the team if he gets his playing time. Anthony Morrow will probably be a deadly consistent shooter again, and Stephen Curry has the skills to duplicate that and add some versatility as well. Brandan Wright brings extra length and athleticism off of the bench, same goes with Buike, Turiaf, Maggette, etc.
If a lot of players do good, then I see Maggette doing well, too. He’ll be able to play his role instead of having to ballhog due to lack of healthy players and all that. He can help make the Warriors one of the best teams in the league at getting to the line, which is a big plus since we’re known to shoot more three’s than free throws.

Jackson punked Rowell
… further evidence our front office (ownership) incompetence.
Rowell, cans Mullin, for bad contracts, and the first thing he does is get punked by steven jackson.
i am the biggest warrior homer, and this latest news is discouraging.
… and why in the heck did they make the guys available the first day?

Where r all the Ellis lovers?
I been saying it all summer, Ellis is an arrogant idiot who thinks he is the best player in this league or acts like it cause he is getting paid Superstar money. I first said we should cancel his contract and allow him to test free agency and he will be back signing Midlevel excemption with us, then I said we should trade him the same way we did with J Rich especially since we drafted Curry, yet many guys who being drinking the kool aid kept bringing up the stats of Ellis and how he was improving. Dude doesn’t want play for us, lol. I m loving it trade him, Jackson and Wright for Tmac. I am going to start digging the archives to call out those idiots who kept jumping on Ellis bandwagon. Lol I m so happy thanks Ellis for proving to your fans that you are an idiot.
Waaaarroirs
Tasty Koolaid
Talk to me in a month and a half, when Ellis is happily leading the Warriors – who are winning with Ellis as the starting PG and Curry coming off the bench, while Ellis continues to show a positive attitude, a willingness to work with Nelson, and actual leadership. All the reporters and fans getting tied in knots over Ellis saying exactly what most of us have said – not to mention Larry Riley – regarding he and Curry being on the court at the same time and not paying any attention to the rest of what he said, which was actually very positive, missed the real story. Ellis is back! It is his team, and he wants every member of it working their hardest to make it a winner.
Where r all the Ellis lovers?
I’m gaining new respect for Montay the way he’s speaking out and showing he’s learned a lot about the game in the last couple of years.
If he can handle the point I’ll be very happy for him and you’ll be eatin your words.

Ummm....If I can watch this, can't all the other coaches in the league?
Won’t opposing coaching staff be able to watch these practices and see what plays the W’s are running? Seems like that’d create a disadvantage…
Was thinking about this. I’m not certain it’s that big a deal. This is the early stuff; they’ve got a month more. Further, it may not be the sort of thing that you can glean all that much from a distance. NBA teams used to have open practices, for what its worth. Maybe trying to reconnect with fans and show them that the team is working well together is more important to the organization right now.
Then again, any disadvantage is a disadvantage.
Advance scouts do that anyway
NBA teams have people who go to their next opponents’ games and watch their sets, their signals, their play calls, the whole thing….
There’s been talk about how the economy might cut into that sort of thing, causing teams that starve their scouting department to be at a competitive disadvantage. The status quo, though, is that teams know the stuff their opponents run, more or less. Barring big chess moves like a surprise small lineup, they know.
