Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Will we ever get the respect from the Warriors front office?

For a decade and a half. All we say every year is:
-Rebuild
-Young talent
-Next year

We as fans deserve much more. There is no other arena that can claim they fill the arena like we do, with the teams we have had. We support our team every F***ing year. I go to over 30 games a year. Here and other towns.
Every year I say this is year we break through -not a championship a simple break through, we have something special. WTF it is going on!!!!

I know some will say I’m not a true fan. But I ’m a 35 yr old man that has always followed this team no matter what. But the no matter what has just run out.!! Not becuase I am not a fan, but becuase of the joke the front office has made of this franchise and us -the fans.  This will never get better and we are partially to blame why?
-The arena is always full-We fill it up
-After all it is a business-Ther front office as much as we complain, they are doing their job
They fill the seats-With our asses
-shirts, caps, shorts --We buy them
-etc..
-etc..

What is the motive for them to change (business is booming) is booming right, why, change? I do not want to hear some say they are in it "to win". BULLS***!!!! They have not proven me wrong in 15-16 years!!!!

Becuase if that was the fact (winning). They would have done it a long time ago. The only success they had, they could not build on it. I do not care for what reasons. They do not have the credibility or have any excuses, in my book they are just laughing to the bank .

What could possibly be the reason?  They have an excuse every year, every year.
-Players do not want to come here nor do they want to stay now
-We are now --no doubt the worst runned franchised in the NBA!!!
- The most lauged at in the league
-Even the Clippers can deal for players.
-We can't get players even by over paying.
-Becuase we do not know how to give proper contracts--We have an idiot owner , we idiot puppets
-The only players that are coming here are the ones that are not going to make a difference and they are sooo overpaid, we can’t get rid of them(I do not think I need to mention them) . They know they are coming here for the money.

If we want to get this fixed----- do not go to the arena!!!
Let’s force them to continue to treat this as a propsperous business and make them:
-Fill the arena
-t\Treat this as a business or go out of business
-Fill seats--Get someone in teh front office that knows the game and can make teh right moves
-etc..
-etc..

Until we do this--We will not see teh playoffs in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNG time.

I will not stop watching them on TV, but I will not go to the arena until I see some improvement from the front office.

And by the way get rid of the entire staff, including Nellie. I do not care about his legacy. He has not brought us or any team a chapionship as a coach? Not that we had a team to do so, but they sure f***d up on the continued progress—He is good no doubt about it, but I see distruction all over again, soon

Peace

I think they might be paying attention...

You can get season tickets right now in all sort of locations that haven’t been available for years. Front row, 3rd row, 6th row, 11th row—whatever you want.

People are voting with their wallets. Wait and see.

Yep....this is the thing that is hurting them the most right now..

The promotions for Opening Night in a four pack with the Lakers….. Opening night and the Lakers??? and the games are not sold yet…

There are some major issues here that the fans are finally showing by voting with their feet…..

Its a crying shame but over-priced drinks and food….lines that can take a quarter to get served…. an organisation that still has a warehouse full of J-Rich, Baron, Barnes and Harrington merchandise etc… diabolical half time entertainment…. rip off parking rates… no freaking Mascot, prices which are better than last year but still far from what they should be for the product on the floor…..the list is HUGE and has been covered… and yt the osterich (read FO) still buries its head in the sand….. when what it COULD do…. is tur to its fanbase and say … ok… HELP US!

I spend my life negotiating with people…. yes there is a contract for the arena..but all things are NEGOTIABLE… and a better deal at the arena is just one thing that needs work on..

The last year was FAR from a great time out! and it seems people are showing that by refusing to support poor performance…no matter how loyal they are…

Food at Oracle sucks. I’ve been to the Toyota Center in Houston many times last year and that place is fantastic. Awesome sound system, nice jumbotron, and better, healthier, and more food options for similar prices.

Warriors need to make some improvements for the fans. Club 200 was a nice step, but what about all the lower level fans? Where a majority will be this year, seeing that the Upper Level seems pretty vacant now.

In the East

the dubs, (I hate when fans say we), would be like sixth seed, and would have been in the playoffs with Dunleavy and Murphy.

An empty Oracle come game time will earn the fans tons of respect.

Then they shouldn’t be complaining if they aren’t willing to do something to fix it.

It's hard to not go to games

Because they are still one of the most exciting teams to watch. It’s always down to the wire and high scoring. Fantastic drama. :)

We aren't Boston, LA, or SA

we don’t have LeBron, we don’t have the pieces to attract big name FA’s here yet. So we have to do what the majority of NBA teams have to do, build through the draft, grow players.

We’ve just had a string of bad coaches, and a front office that makes illogical basketball decisions.

That all seems to be changing. If this team is healthy, we will make the playoffs, and due to are youth we should be able to start getting people wanting to play for our team.

Hopefully uniform changes help that too

Things are changing??

“That all seems to be changing. If this team is healthy, we will make the playoffs, and due to are youth we should be able to start getting people wanting to play for our team”

Where have you been the last 16 yrs? Oh, and I am sure the SUPER new uniforms will lead us to teh promise land. That is what was wrong, why didn;t we do that sooner?

Hopefully uniform changes help that too

Haha, Dream on. Uniforms don’t affect the quality of play they just make us spend more money to replace the perfectly good team stuff we have with new stuff.

No sports franchise respects its fans.

They habitually abuse their fans – all of them – and take them for granted.

Because the evidence, for the most part, is that sports fans do not require respect from the franchise to remain fans.

Obviously, we’ve had some really bad management, but at the same time, I have an issue with somebody who says that the problem is that we’re a “rebuilding” team right now. The team has clearly been trying to put together a winner … they’ve just been doing a really bad job of it.

As much as fans wish it were otherwise, patience is a very necessary component to building a top franchise. It takes some luck, and some skill, but without a lot of luck it doesn’t happen overnight.

The Warriors have had bad luck and made some dumb decisions. But it’s not like they’re not trying. It’s not like “respecting” us would make any difference at all.

Ronaldinho: you can pretty much pencil in a REC from me for everything you write on this board. Perfectly said, as usual.

There will be no extra point!
