Two points caught my eye:
* "This is not the first time he's [Stephen Jackson] asked for a trade, and the Warriors seem to be unwilling to entertain the idea, but if they wanted to trade him there are plenty of teams who would be interested. He'd be an excellent fit in Dallas, but the Mavs would almost certainly have to send Josh Howard to Oakland to make that work and it might be a lateral move."

* "Sources close to the situation in Oakland told HOOPSWORLD recently that there's little chance the Warriors move Ellis, and even less of a chance that they work a deal with Dallas. That being said, they drafted a starting point guard and traded Jamal Crawford in a deal that brought back two reserves in Acie Law and Speedy Claxton. How long will Ellis actually be a Warrior? Odds are, not very long."

If you can handle the Mav-ness check out Mavs Moneyball.

The second point

Does that person really believe that the Warriors brought in Claxton and Law to replace Monta??

Considering there attitudes and what Jackson has recently said,

who would you guys rather have? Howard or Jackson?

I would rather have Howard regardless of attitude etc. We are a rebuilding team. We don’t need an old man with a bad contract. As much as I like Jack, it would benefit him, another team, and the warriors if he was traded. An expiring contract can help us get someone young and more useful to be a part of our team.

i agree

A disgruntled Jackson is not worth a motivated Howard who is on his last year of his contract. Regardless if some of you don’t believe what those guys were saying about Monte, it does make sense that Nellie doesn’t believe in Ellis running the Point position. Why would he draft Curry unless they want him to become another B Wright and rot in the bench which I highly doubt. I believe Curry or Watson will be our starting PG. As far as Ellis goes, like they said, his basketball IQ to run the point is limited which was emphasized by many in the media. Whats weird about all this is that I don’t see Ellis as a good fit for Dallas. They already got Jason Terry, Jason Kidd and Barea who shown flashes along with the new rookie PG from France. Where would Ellis play if traded to Dallas?

Howard. I don’t like him, but he’s younger with a better contract and plays bigger.

How about none of them!

I can’t stand either of them.
One is a pothead that dissed the Nation Anthem
and the other one…Palace of Auburn Hills,no more need be said.

I’d take Al Thorton over any of them.

Really?

I think Thornton is just another Maggette. I’d take Iggy over all of them (I wish they would take Jackson and CJ for him). I honestly don’t see another small forward out there that we can get for him. Howard is a solid fit.

Re: Dissing the National Anthem

Politics aside, the Star Spangled Banner is a crappy song. It’s monumentally bad. It’s may be the only song worse than “Happy Birthday”.

Have you ever tried to sing it? You’d better start out real low because it will put your balls in a vice before it’s over. That thing just gets higher and higher until your nuts retract into your pelvis. No joke, that song may be the worst song ever written. Pot’s good though.

HUGE. I mean, why else would Nellie be going to the Big D this week? It’s surely not for the BBQ.

Not a good sign. The last time Nelson went out of town for some BBQ he ended up dragging the corpse of Chris Webber back with him.

Dallas Basketball Com

I don’t know what’s going on with the Mavs, but I do know the Dallas Basketball Com guy has a better track record on what’s going on with Nellie than any Bay Area writer. Reading a bit of him reminds me of how much more balanced the coverage of Nellie was in Dallas and in Milwaukee as well. I think it’s a little sad Nellie came back to the Bay to get his legs chewed off by the likes of TK and others. “Stayed in Mississippi and played too long.” I hope there is still some happy ending for him there, but it doesn’t seem to be a happy ending town.

What are you talking about? As a Mavs fan, we all know Stephen Jackson won’t fit in Dallas, one we’re not giving up Howard for him. We can get better value than that. He would involve Damp+Greg+something to that nature. Jackson’s a great player, but I don’t see him fitting in the Mavs system.
