Monta Ellis has been incredible this season.  If he was in the East he would probably be an allstar, and if Tracy McGrady wasn't voted into the West's team by dumb@$$ fans, either Ellis or Billups would probably be on that team.  (As it stands now, I don't think Ellis will get in, although he does deserve to!) 

I am getting a little concerned though.  Ellis has been playing a lot of 48 minute games lately, and when he isn't playing 48 minutes hes playing 43 or more.  I guess this isn't incredibly unusual.  I'm sure lots of players have been used this much in the past, although I can't recall any Warrior doing it.  It seems like if there was a high correlation between playing 48 minutes a game and getting injured then teams would know that, and not play anyone 48 minutes a game.  But maybe not... 

I'm getting a little worried though.  The Warriors are going nowhere fast, especially with Randolph and Turiaf going down recently.  They probably never really had a chance at the playoffs.  They are probably (about) the 13th best team in the West, even when fully healthy, and they are definitely not fully healthy. 

So why play Moped for the whole game?  He is one of the most entertaining players to watch.  He is absolutely incredible in my opinion and makes the Warriors really fun to watch.  But the amount of time he hits the ground hard in every game, and the amount of minutes hes playing, and the way the Warriors are relying on him so much has to be wearing him out!  How long can he keep this up!?!  It pains  me to say this because Moped is so entertaining, but the Dubs need to give him some more rest.  You're not going to make the playoffs and it seems to me that playing Ellis like this could lead to an injury, and could potentially even shorten his career!  Maybe I'm overreacting, but I'm not sure that I am.  His body has to be really worn out!  He jumps high enough so that his head gets close to the backboard, and then comes crashing to the ground after colliding with a big man at least a few times a game.

So should Nellie continue to play Moped 48 minutes a game and hope he doesn't run out of gas?
