What is the Warriors' watchability rating for you?
This is my first fanpost even though i've been a reader for 2 years now. I just wanted to get a feel for who everyone watches the warriors for the most. I decided to rate them on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being someone you absolutely love to watch and 1 being kinda how most people felt about watching Mikki Moore playing 30 mins earlier in the year (Oh yeah!!!!).
I will start from top to bottom:
Anthony Randolph (9) : As easy as he is my favorite player to watch on the team. He has freakish potential. He has some of that swagger that the "we believe" team had (remember his confrontations with Danny Granger this year and Lamar Odom last year?). I would give him a 10 if he would be more humble and realize that he has a lot more to work on his game and to not expect to be playing 40 mins a game just cuz he was a lottery pick. Otherwise, I would really love if the team holds on to him and develop him.
Anthony Morrow (8) : Love his demeanor, and I love shooters like him anyways (Reggie Miller is one of my all time fav NBA players), and he is what I hope more warriors do as far as work hard, love the fans and give his all.
Monta Ellis (8): He is just fun to watch and our best player.
Steph Curry (8): He isn't flashy but he is part of our future (at least for now) and he has a good vibe about him. His basketball IQ is very good. Good guy.
Andris Beadrins, Ronny Turiaf (7) : Love their energy and support for their teammates. I love when bench players get up and support the players on the court.
Corey Maggette (6) : Oh man. Hard to really rate him. I hated his game last season and early in this season, but considering the tear he has been on recently and his professionalism considering the boos, the trade speculations and the warrior drama., he probably went from like a 2 to a 6 over the course of the season.
The rest of the team:
Kelenna Az (6): Good all around player. Too bad he got inj.
Cj (3) : I just don't think he will be here next year and his game bores me.
B. Wright (N/A): If he would ever get injury free, then I'd know how I feel about him. Otherwise, trade his ass for Bosh.
C. Hunter (4): Go Blue! I'm a Michigan alum so he gets bonus points there but man he isn't that good. He's had some good games but normally hes pretty bad. Especially at finishing around the basket and rebounding.
Vlad (2): I just hate him. Can't stand to watch him play.
D. George (1): No need to explain.
Cartier Martin, and other future Dleagers (3): They are just here cuz of injuries. See Cj.
Raja Bell (7): I love what he could bring if healthy. Leadership, grit, toughness, competitiveness. He isnt the Defensive Ace he once was but hes definately better than any wing defender we have. He and monta could be a better than avg defensive backcourt and in warriorland that is rare.
I'm really passionate about this team and I watch them no matter who's playing but this season has been hard, especially these past few weeks either w/out ammo and/or AR4. I just hope Larry Riley (who is growing on me over the past year) will swing a good deal for us b4 the deadline. I really think he's trying but there isn't much there and he knows that A list FA won't come to us so trades has to be his priority.

i honestly don't agree with 90% of what you said.
I dont care if someone has “swagger like we believe”… i mean cmon… its time to move on…. that stuff doesn’t matter.
If Morrow is higher than Maggette and Monta, that is the most obvious case of homerism. I like watching effort, and good bball. I don’t fantasize over AR, Morrow, and Curry like alot of you do because there isn’t much reason to get excited. This explains why i don’t care about your post….
C. Hunter (4): Go Blue! I’m a Michigan alum so he gets bonus points there but man he isn’t that good. He’s had some good games but normally hes pretty bad. Especially at finishing around the basket and rebounding.
Vlad (2): I just hate him. Can’t stand to watch him play.
D. George (1): No need to explain.

You give Raja a 7 when he played 1 game!!!!!
And you give hardworking players like CJ, Radman, lower grades than Chris Hunter. ……. Chris Hunter is absolutely terrible. His rebounding and IQ are just not good enough to be on an NBA roster.
Bellineli, Gallinari, and Radman are my heroes!!!
Monta PPG> Monta IQ

Giants need to sign Barry Bonds outta retirement.
Come on
Give him a break, its his first post. But, instead of Maggette at 6, he should be around an 7 or 8.
If I don't like it, I don't like it, that don't mean that i'm hatin'.

Young grasshopper
Your arrogance reeks through my computer monitor like a bad stench. The author was listing reasons why he watches players from his own personal viewpoint. He is not making an analytical analysis of players and their abilities.
Your viewpoint is not the only viewpoint in this world.

Back in the day when I first discovered Warriors basketball
and I didn’t know very much about the game, Jason Richardson was THE GUY to watch. But nowadays, having more understand about how basketball works, I’m more interested in watching team plays and team chemistry than any one guy. I like watching the tic-tac-toe plays, pick and rolls, give and gos, slice cuts, moving without the ball, team rotation, help defense, intercepting the passing lanes, etc.
OOOOOH so you must've loved our 06-07 warriors

Yeah
probably even moreso today with how much I’ve learned about the game since then. I’d love to watch those last 21 games again and pick apart how we did it.

As a
hardcore Warrior fan all the guys on the team have really grown on me. I just love watching the Dubs in general, win or lose. I get a different excitement watching GSW than any other team. But to answer your question I think the young guys like the Anthonies and Curry are fun to watch grow and develop game by game to see if they can one day become the players we think they can. Monta Ellis was always fun to watch, evn more so this year because Monta is becoming one of the top guys in the league right before our eyes. I also like Ronny, Andris, Maggette, Wright and Bukie. CJ is ok but like you said he probably won’t be here next year and Radmanovic would be alot more watchable if he could get his shot back. But overall i just love watching our Warriors.

I love all of our warriors except Biedrins
His softness, free throwing, foul proneness, and contract really has me hating watching him. I’m watching the Denver game and am falling in love with NeNe’s game. He actually takes it to the whole with a purpose with one hand going for the hammer dunk. When the hell was the last time Biedrins did this?! Last time I remember it was against Dirk when he drove in for the slam.
I hate watching him go for the glass when it's an easy slam!!
Does he have small hands or something?

It's pretty funny that you say that
because I’ve read some Nuggets fans wanting Andris because Nene isn’t really a center.

cause I want the Warriors to be a better team in the next couple of years?
If that makes me a homer, thats fine.

I don't see why people love watching Randolph play.
To me, he’s been a let down this season. Disregarding his injury, when he’s on the court, about 75% of the time, I get frustrated watching him, then the other 25% his shining potential is seen.
+1
i agree completely with ur post…sure sometimes AR has some sweet highlights and flashes of great potential, but it seems as tho most the time i get frustrated by the stupid mistakes and mental errors. Once these start to be less common, i will enjoy his game alot more. As for who i like to watch the most, i would have to say the Ammo(except lately with his struggles) or Monta, and even tho they have some stupid mistakes, they dont seem AS frustrating (except when monta gets blocked 5 times in a row )
Even when he's effective
it can be tough to watch.
I think I enjoyed watching him more at the end of last season than at any time during this season.

Its more of
watching to see how he comes along. Anthony Randolph is only 20 years old. He still has alot to learn and alot to work on but he may become something special. He has kind of had a bad beginnig to the season but was starting to come into his own before going down with his injury. But AR has a world of potential so many fans love to watch him because he brings a sense of hope.

Monta (10) – in my top 5 favorite players to watch, just after Kobe, CP3 and above Wade and G.Wallace
Morrow (9) – I love his jumpshoot and playing a similar position in college/being a SG helps myself visualize what happens out there
Curry (9) – showboats too much and makes stupid passes sometimes, but his shot is amazing
Maggette (8) – Love the dunks and the crazy layups, hate the little “let me stand at the same spot for 10 seconds and not pass”
Turiaf (7) – Love the dunks and blocks, that’s about it
C.J. Watson (6) – meh
Randolph (5) – blocks and dunks are exciting, but everything else makes me want to stop watching warriors. Especially the ball-hogging and soft layups. Overall very awkward.

Does that mean when you watch Kobe et al. you have to turn the dial up to 11?

I love watching Monta. I have greatly enjoyed Steph Curry’s sweet J. I haven’t enjoyed the injuries and incompetence in our big men (Randolph is playing poorly, lets not even talk about Dris and Turiaf, Moore and Hunter are NOT who you want to be rooting for).
Randolph is playing poorly huh?
by randolphforpresident on Jan 18, 2010 2:32 PM PST up reply actions
So is that, like, irony?
Randolph does have great potential. And at the time of the injury, he wasn’t playing poorly.
There will be no extra point!

He was in the beginning
but not the last stretch of games before going down with his ankle injury

This is Easy
Randolph (10) – Haters (monta.da.asshat) need to just shhhhhh
Curry(8)
Monta (7)
Maggette(-1,0000) Ballhog, blackhole, selfish, the worst, etc.
other than that, this team is blaaaaah. I only listed monta at a 7 because he is averaging 26.4 a game and the dubs havn’t had a legit top 10 scorer since …uhm…Antawn at 24 a game? But Twan’s numbers were meaningless and a quiet 24 a night. If Monta were at say 24 ppg or less he would be a 5 on my rankings.
Oh, and Maggette blows.

Oh, and Maggette blows.
Maggette 2009-10, per 36 minutes
24.0 pts
7.2 reb
2.8 ast
.647 TS% (second best in the NBA)
+5.1 plus-minus (best on the Warriors by far)
Stop embarrassing yourself, fool.
Ar the very least, if you hate him that much, stop depressing his trade value.
There will be no extra point!
What is the Warriors' watchability rating now?
just about as pleasant as watching the results of the mass. senate election come in.
