I came up with a new name for the team. The Golden State D-Leaguers.

Seriously
I find it funny how part of the reason why the Warrior’s didn’t want to resign Baron Davis was because of his injuries. Now look where we are.
We would of never got the gift of a superstar, though.

the gift that keeps on giving
superstars padding there fantasy stats v. warriors.
Aw, you beat me to it
Anyway, MT2 confirms that Tolliver was signed to a 10-day, but he does not make it clear if Tolliver will play in tomorrow’s day game or not. If not, Turiaf or Radman must dress to get to the 8 player minimum. Or maybe CJ should dress. In case of emergency, even though he can’t use his right hand, he can at least run around and maybe use his left hand to deflect a pass or face guard someone.
Poor Rob Kurz, got passed over. R Dizzle must be crying his eyes out.
So...
We have absolutely no reserve guards now……guess that means running Monta and Curry to the ground eh? I doubt Nellie will put any other players at the guard spots until CJ/Morrow come back.
So let me get this straight... Maggette is the healthy guy.

Man this season has been a real disappointment
It’s the first season where I actually have been able to watch most of the games(because I didn’t look for streams before) and almost the whole team has been injured and never at full strength. It really sucks that the whole season we won’t actually be able to see how good the team can be.

On the bright side
They’re most likely going to get a good wing player in the draft(Evan Turner/Wesley Johnson) who could be Montas wing man and give the team that other big time scorer that they need.
It’s quite a lot to expect one of the guys in the draft not named John Wall to come into the league and immediately be a big time scorer.

Evan Turner is going to be a beast

hmmm…I wonder of any of these d-leaguers are disappointed when they hear they’re being called up to the dubs?…
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

Yea...
I don’t think so. The people in the D-league want money. You make much much more in the NBA. I think around like 600k if you’;re guaranteed.
Plus playing time
If I was a DLeaguer, I’d want PT to showcase my skills. When there are only 6 other guys, I’m going to get minutes. If I was called up to be the 14th guy at the end of the bench, not so much.

Atleast were jump starting there careers
Guys like Martin and Hunter belong in the NBA
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
Not sure if Hunter is an NBA player yet
Yeah he blocked Shaq, but hasn’t done much besides that. Maybe as a 15th guy on the roster, or in this case 18th.
by duballers23 on Jan 17, 2010 10:10 PM PST up reply actions
Hunter's per 36 shot blocking is impressive
And is jumper isn’t bad, he can make a lot of NBA teams. I’m not saying he is very good though.
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
but shot blocking is no where near as important as rebounding and scoring
which hunter is terrible at.
Bellineli, Gallinari, and Radman are my heroes!!!

DB23....apart from.....
completely silencing Oden, keeping KG honest, and blocking Shaq right under the rim…just some highlight real moments… the rest of the time he has quietly gone about his business being in exactly the right part of the court at the right time, has a nice jumper for a big guy, can shoot a free throw and gives us a ‘presence’ we have not had for long time…
He will grow and develop and as I have said before…‘might’ really surprise a few people…he certainly seems to have the observed skillsets from a technical perspective, if he can build on his rebonding… he could be VERY useful.

hunter’s awesome 9.0 PER v. allowing 14.0 PER is very unwarrior-like.
That being said hes been rebounding worse than radmonovic and maggette this season. I don’t expect him to stay at 6.4 per 36, but it’s clearly NOT his strongsuit
Turiaf is rebounding worse than radman and corey too
Bellineli, Gallinari, and Radman are my heroes!!!

Hunter is 25 years old — 26 this July. He’s past the age when players generally “grow and develop.” He was a mediocre rebounder in college, nothing spectacular and D-league, and — in a smallish but growing sample size — an atrocious rebounder in the NBA. Rebounding, perhaps more than any other skill, is not something players generally “build on,” especially not at age 26.
Meantime, he’s shown no particular aptitude in scoring efficiently, passing the ball, or really doing anything that would make him stick in the NBA on any team that isn’t decimated by injuries.
He seems like a nice enough kid, but at this point it’s nothing but pure fanboyism to expect him to “grow into” anything more than the overmatched D-leaguer he is.
There will be no extra point!

Yeah,
I had no idea what Brit meant by a "presence " we haven’t had in a long time.

so why dont you ask Brit instead.....
‘Presence’ is something all centres should have…. its something you look at when facing a centre and think….“its going to be tough to get past that…”… Hunter has that and like I said, if he can improve the rebounding he will be very useful.

Not Fanboyism Sleepy...
Just a personal opinion…you know…those things you hate to let other people have without having a snied dig at their opinion…
To say that a 25 year old cannot learn some new skillsets is frankly nonsense in my opinion. If he focuses on rebounding at NBA level and what is required then yes I think he can improve considerbaly.
I know you share Jae’s views about his past college stats.. and multiple other fews to be honest… but is there really a need every single time you want to say something about one of my posts to have that snirky little edge to it??
It’s almost as if you want to really say… ‘get lost your an idiot Brit and I dont agree’…I would frankly have more respect for you if you did than the constant side swipes using parts of quotes to highlight how you think ‘grow into’ is a stupid thing to say…
PEOPLE are allowed to have their own opinions…you may not agree with it…but the snied comments are getting pretty old now….if you dont feel you can respond without a dig…then why bother…unless thats just who you are..in which case…you have more to worry about than the content of my thoughts….

Cartier Martin will play with protective goggles. Bogut’s hand tore into Cartier’s tear duct in his right eye.

On NBA.com, the description of the Bogut dunk on Cartier says, “Andrew Bogut throws down the vicious slam on Kelenna Azubuike.” haha, Look it up.

Injuries
It sucks with the amount of injuries that have been occurring on this roster. I was having pretty high hopes for this team, but once again, injury caste a plague on the team. It’s so unfortunate that the Warriors have to keep calling up D-League players just so they’ll be able to play. Our roster was pretty solid, but injuries are just too much. I know we’ve discovered players like Azubuike/Watson via D-League, but I’m tired of watching new guys just come in and out on the Warrior’s roster. I just want to see this team solid and with full strength.
Injuries have clearly hurt us this year ...
But, really, how good were we going to be, even healthy?
This team has issues. Injuries are a nice excuse, but they shouldn’t obscure the fact that our players have often played very poorly this year. Yes, Monta, it’s great that you sometimes score going one-on-five, we all believe you. Now pass the ball instead, please.
Funny
The playoffs in basketball are interesting. I think that the Dubs would have a better record than CP3 and the Hornets if they would have had Wright, Goose, Buike and Turiaf all year.
Also, wouldn’t it be nice to have Crawford and Belinelli right now to help with an extra 40pts/game? Maggette’s at the 4 anyway. Both Crawford and Beli were 6’5" and therefore could be put at the 3 slot in Nelly’s system. If C.J. can play the 3, than so could they. Plus Crawford is being labled as the steal of the offseason.
But no worries, we now have expiring contracts , (Speedy, George, Bell), that we’re not gonna use to attract a player, but to lower the expenses for next year. No way that any reasonable all stars will come here without being overpaid. Lets just use the money we save on the expirings to sign all this D-League talent.
BTW no offense to any D League’rs. Marting and Tolliver should get a shot at making the roster.
Anthony Randoph for Most Improved Player
The problem with Crawford here was that we expected him to be the second best player on the team… In ATL all he has to do is score because they have at least three players that are better than him, two of which are primarily defensive players.
by samuraaaaiiiiiii on Jan 18, 2010 1:55 AM PST up reply actions
ahhhhhh yes....
But there are some here that believe he is not even a ‘GOOD’ player because he was a little lacking in defensive skills…… The fact is, you dont play Jamal for his defensive skills, you hope to have 4 other players that can take that slack… he is a player that can hopefully provide you with more firepower than the guy he is guarding…
I have never understood the bashing he got here…I personally really like his game and his numbers last year were actually pretty good. Add the fact that he has more social skills than many of his criticisers, acting with profesionalism and grace… I like the guy a lot.
Oh and the very first thing that Robert Rowell said to me before the start of the season at the season ticket holder event… “how good it was to unload the Jamal Crawford contract…….” yeah….ok Robert… in light of some of the other decisions made by the FO… our season to date….AND the percieved value of JC now at the Hawks…. 5 gold stars yet again for the great wisdom of Bobby Rowell!!
Can we send Robert Rowell to the D League?

+1
I am trying not to bash the trade till the trade deadline. If speedy’s expiring helps us in any way then kudos for the trade….BUT when it won’t it’s just another GSW give-a-way.
oh i guess it helped us unload jackson too… thank god we traded crawford so we have the ability to unload jackson too!
If you need a gunner
Crawfor-‘s your man. He’s a capable scorer. Not spectacular by any means, but capable. What don’t the Warriors need? Scorers who bring nothing else to the table. Crawfor- may or may not be better than Buike or Morrow. But he gets paid 3 times as much as their combined salaries and isn’t an expiring contract. First off, that’s a huge waste of cap space. Second, we’ve got younger players who are just as capable scorers, if not better.
Crawfor- is a great fit in Atlanta. He doesn’t need to be the team’s top scorer, and he can get away with just being a scorer (i.e. not playing defense, looking for his teammates, or rebounding). Here, we can’t afford to spend 15% of our salary cap on a player who’s nothing but a decent by not great scorer. In Atlanta, they’ve got Al Horford on the cheap for this year and next, so they can afford Crawfor- for both years.
You have been DFiBrillated.

We could if healthy put up a starting lineup of D league call ups
PG – CJ
SG – Martin
SF – Buike
PF – Tolliver
C – Hunter
I wonder how that team would fair.
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
sadly....
probably not much worse than our Warriors this year…..which pretty much says it all….
