The two examples of tonight's game that leaves you wondering how these refs tonight have jobs. Also, added was the foul on Maggette on Nene where Maggette got out of the way and didn't make any contact with him.

I don't mind all the calls in between the quarter

but these end of the quarter calls should be consistant.

I thought the call on Lawson was the correct call but the Nene one should have definitely been called. It almost caused a turnover.

Even though we lost....the Nuggets are the true losers

Because if any NBA team can’t blow out a team with 3 D-Leaguers and filled with injured veteran/rookie players is truely sad.

It’s amazing we’re even keeping up with any teams with a roster(or lack thereof) like this. 3 NBA starters, a player that shouldve retired already, a rookie, and three d leaguers.

+1.

I was actually impressed at how many times the refs swallowed their whistles when ’Melo tried to force contact. If he gets his usual “friendly” calls, he probably goes off for 30+ instead of 23.

As far as the Monta foul at the end of the 3rd: questionable, but hardly egregious. Any blame for the call, imho, should be laid entirely on Monta for getting himself entangled with Lawson at half court.

Whining about the refs after your team loses … now there’s something you don’t see every day. Another piece of fine, objective “journalism” by the Rock-ster…

There will be no extra point!

LOL

Wheres the blame for Monta. He for the second time went at a guy as they shot from halfcourt, and got in contact with them.

The Monta foul in the 3rd was the correct call. Monta just made a bone headed move. The Nene grab though, could have been cause for hell if the ball went out of bounds and they gave it to the Nuggets.

So let me get this straight... Maggette is the healthy guy.

However, do you think that foul warranted 3 FTs?

The foul didn't warrant three free throws

Even in slow motion, Lawson went into Ellis created the contact. After realizing he was going to be fouled, then Lawson went up for his shot that Ellis blocked cleanly.

It’s almost exactly like the play that happened earlier in the game with George defending Anthony. George fouled him on the drive by making a small amount of contact on the shot, Anthony missed instead of taking the ball out of bounds like it should have been, Anthony got two free throws.

horrible

I completely agree with the article. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Monta clearly bumped into him as Ty was trying to do a crossover. The play should’ve stopped there and Ty shoots 2 FTs as the Warriors are in the penalty. It was clearly a foul so I don’t mind it being called. What I didn’t agree with was the 3 FTs. I am also disappointed in Monta for even risking a foul again, when the exact same thing happened in Denver, only this time it was the end of the 3rd instead of the end of the game.

Later on in the 4th that Maggette foul on Nene was also bogus. I believe the guy that called it was the guy by the scorer’s table, and not the baseline ref. The baseline ref had the best angle, while the scorer’s table ref wouldn’t have been able to see what Maggette was doing once Nene had spun towards the hoop. Nene missed the FT anyways, but it’s SO frustrating when the Nuggets get calls like that, while Maggette gets pounded and grabbed and doesn’t get the calls.

At the end of regulation when Tolliver caught the ball around halfcourt and tried to turnaround and shoot, there was definitely some contact there, but I wouldn’t call that a foul. It does suck that the Nuggets were in the same situation in Denver and they got the call when there was no contact at all and they ended up winning because of that. However, 2 wrongs don’t make a right so I am not upset about the non-call there.

We still had our chances and Monta missed that tying FT with like 25 secs left really hurt us.

What the article doesn't mention was the actual reason we didn't win this game.

Nene, and Martin were holding our players with arm bars on almost every one of our defensive rebounds during the 4th quarter and overtime, if any of those were called we would have had many more possessions. Nene and Martin would have fouled out of the game. It’s non calls like that that lose you games, Denver always gets away with that stuff every game.

It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

That too

I mean Jim Barnett was showing clips of what they were doing or how Andris Biedrins was grabbed going after an offensive rebound so he couldn’t jump.

Also

Let’s not forget the offensive foul on Nene when he posterized Maggete. How in the world was that not an offensive foul? If you use your off hand to ward off the defender it’s an offensive foul. So there were at least two bogus foul calls on Maggette.
