The Warriors were flat-out pathetic in December, finishing with a 3-12 record, including losses to Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington. For much of the month the Warriors played shorthanded, an excuse that will be either validated or disproved based on the Warriors play when injured players return to health. The Warriors now sit at 9-22, in 14th place in the conference.

Though the transformation began in late November, Monta Ellis' true ascension to bona fide star occurred this month. While Monta always had the talent, and though he could fall from his current pace of production, Monta was oftentimes a one-man-show for the Dubs in December. Monta averaged 26.7 points during the month on 46% shooting, while playing 43 minutes a game. Monta was also huge in the Warriors two big wins against Phoenix and Boston. With a good January, Monta might be able to play himself into all All-Star selection.
