Still wish he never left...

On another note, this should give wizards an out on that contract

it’ll be very interesting if the wizards do try to void his deal. they might have the ability to do it, but i’m sure the players’ union will protest. how stern handles this will be very interesting.

Think Stern will ban him?

i think he could, and that’s probably the right call. guns have no place in the locker room. it’s just a stupid thing to do. i’m not saying it should be a lifetime ban or anything, but giving the wizards the right to void his contract and telling him to stay away from the NBA until further notice might be the strong stance the league needs here.

what if you pulled a gun out in your office. “As a joke” You’d lose your job.

The q is if he’ll serve jailtime or not. Plaxico got 2 years for shooting himself BY ACCIDENT

"Lapse in judgement"....

Really????
I guess if I drove through a residential area at 100mph, I could try to claim a ‘Lapse in judgement’….C’mon….
Gilbert is no fool and these words are well crafted by a highly paid lawyer. No one in their right mind would even consider bringing a firearm into a sports venue unless they are a member of Law Enforcement…

Stern surely cannot have any choice other than to ban the guy for a period of time and that will need to be a considerable time to have any effect…
Simply saying sorry does not cut it… nobody held one of those guns to his head, to take them to his locker. As to it being a safe place to store them….if they are not for home defence and he is worried about his kids getting them…why are they not locked up at a Gun club?? Better still dont have it in the first place…if it is empty and not loaded…what will you do when faced with an intruder..throw it at them?

I think this just about beats Stephen Jackson’s actions and on the stupidity scale….“step down Monta Ellis, there is now someone of officially worse judgement than you…”
It’s not even “Gangsta”…no self respecting Gangsta would ever carry an unloaded weapon…

Simply staggering…

Don't forget JRich

Ex Warriors have done some really dumb stuff recently. I’m sure your probably all aware of the silly things JRich has done here in Phoenix – like driving 90 mph in a 35 mph zone with his 3 year old son not in a car seat (and this just a month after his DUI).

These guys were doing dumb things when they were Warriors and seemed to have not learned anything since.

If Bochy coached the Warriors Bengie Molina would start every game at PG.

Idiot

What exactly was the gun “joke” going to be? A fake holdup? A fake execution? In any case, a joke with a handgun likely involved pointing it at someone. That, to me, is where he really made a mistake. I guess by making a joke out of it, he’s attempting to paint a picture of his supposedly harmless intent – he’s setting up for the criminal trial. Regardless, guns in the locker room (LOCKER ROOM?!) are against NBA rules, not to mention it’s illegal in DC. Game. Set. Match. He’s done in the NBA. I’d be surprised if he avoided jail time.

You guys remember when Gilbert was a "Warriors" back in the day...

Got caught for speeding on 280 near Westborough or something? and got caught with a loaded gun in his trunk?
