Around SBN: Bill Stewart Dead From Apparent Heart Attack

Just like I noted in GSoM's 2010-2011 Golden State Warriors Preview what used to be a major strength for this team is now a weakness. The jury is still out.

Doc Rivers isn’t a very good coach. He just happens to be blessed with very good players.

Doc Rivers isn’t a very good coach.

He took a bunch of over the hill stars plus donkey and shrek and almost upset the world champion los angeles lakers so I’d say he’s pretty good. didn’t the article have him listed about 5th or 6th? BTW, It would have been interesting to see where they put Nellie?

I don’t know if I would consider Pierce, Garnett, and Allen over the hill in 08, and I definitely wouldn’t consider their victory over the Lakers an upset. The Celtics had the best record in basketball by a wide margin and an incredibly deep roster. As for Rivers, especially that year there were several times where they seemed to win in spite of him than because of him. Rivers often makes odd rotation decisions and isn’t really the best tactical coach, but he does seem to be able to motivate his teams to play excellent defense (of course, having Kevin Garnett around doesn’t hurt in that regard).

He's not a "great" coach

but he’s done very well with what he has.

Baseball is a chamber orchestra. Football is a marching band. Basketball is a modern quintet. jazz, rock, hiphop, pop/ all about the beat./ still my revolution not/ til you dance through it.
