Around SBN: Bill Stewart Dead From Apparent Heart Attack

Former Warrior great, Patrick O'Bryant apparently has caught the travel bug after playing internationally in the wonderful world of Canada. Globetrotting O'Bryant (though not of the Harlem variety), will take his talents to China with the Fujian SBS, who apparently are looking into another former Warrior, Rodney White. Did the Fujian SBS hire Chris Mullin as their new GM?

I wish him the best but something tells me O'Bryant may be the the American version of Wang Zhizhi when he played in the NBA.

Damn

I actually thought O’Bryant would be a decent player. He had the tools to be one, too. Good size, mid range jumper, hook shots (even a sky hook that we saw once or twice during his time in Golden State).

this

must be PR for fans of his new club ;)

Playing style

O’Bryant was a late bloomer who was not heavily recruited out of high school. He plays the center position and is known for his shot-blocking ability, as he led the Missouri Valley Conference in blocks for two straight years, and is also a solid rebounder. He has a 7’6" wingspan. His offensive game also features a skyhook. (wikipedia)

they should have added inbound pass…

What was Nellie thinking?

I can’t believe he didn’t give playing time to POB. He ruined Mullin’s great pick.

(sarcasm to the extreme)

The Notorious POB

One of the best nicknames. I can’t believe the POB/Diogu frount court didn’t eat the western conference alive…

What is sad, when you look at the 2006 draft and can say honestly “Man, if only we took JJ Reddick, Thabo Sefalosha or Rodney Carney at #9…”

Actually, we can now say...

…that we got Rodney Carney! At least we (finally) got the man that most GSoMers wanted at the time and for a fraction of the price!
